Crysis 3 PC for 4 bucks on Amazon

Danny Dudekisser

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I really liked Crysis 2, but holy hell was Crysis 3 bad. One of the least enjoyable experiences of my life.

So, I would argue it's not even worth $4. You should value your time more than that.

Sigh hasn't Garden Warfare gone on sale yet?

As someone who has Crysis 1-3, maybe I should start 3 first then experience 1 and 2, get the bad one out of the way.

Or just play 1 with mods and completely forget about the other 2. That's cool, too.

Crysis Warhead is pretty good, too. Just play 1 and Warhead.

Crysis 2 killed my love for this series. Finishing felt like work. :( I'd rather throw $4 into an indie in the Steam sales.

So much hate, loved crysis 3 finished 2 times at least. In my opinion a lot better than a lot of "beloved" games out there... Gaf don't change ;).

I found it quite good as a shooter but unfortunately held back by the last gen of consoles. The design had potential, I'd be curious to see a "Crysis 3 Director's Cut" with remade levels.

I've been thinking for a couple minutes and I can't remember a single character or event from Crysis 3. I remember a level later in the game with a big tower structure in the middle. I remember another late game level going through a cave that looked good. That's it.

Then I think back at Crysis 2 and I remember multiple characters, events, levels, the story, even the beautiful music in the epilogue. It was also like 3x longer than Crysis 3.

Crysis 3 has really solid core mechanics, the campaign isn't very compelling, but if you have a machine capable of running it at top quality settings, good anti-aliasing, good performance, then it's a good showcase.

$4 is basically nothing, if you're even mildly interested I'd say it is worth it.

It's just a really generic shooter and there's way better things that you could play.

I really don't agree. Using the powers are awesome. There's nothing generic about those. It feels like you have more control over your environment than other shooters.

I already paid for the games better get my money's worth.
I'll play in reverse and maybe skip cutscenes. Crysis 3 has some good archery with the bow I hear.

jesus christ 70 bucks :lol Sorry I had to laugh

the price of Canadian gaming my friend. I don't even know why i bought it...I was depressed that day cause I had been fighting with my family, so I went to the local best buy and picked this giant turd of a game. worst purcahse ever

It's bad, but it's not sub-$4 bad. It is close, though.

I'd hesitate to call this a bargain, but it won't be a waste of your money.

Not a good benchmarking tool. It still looks better than almost everything else whilst running better than every ubi game of the last 2 years.

It's really short compared to Crysis 2 (which was arguably overly long). I mean, if you're someone who'll spend $12-20 on Ground Zeroes which is just a prologue, then $4 for Crysis 3 isn't going to kill you.

Crysis 1 and Warhead were best, Crysis 2 was still great, Crysis 3 was...decent. I enjoyed it as a spectacle, but it is true that the level design was annoying at times and the game felt weird in some way.
Dat graphics though.

For whatever it's worth I think it's well worth more than 4 bucks and quite a decent quick romp. Especially the first few levels are really fun, but like other games of the series the end of the game is much worse than first parts. It's a really good looking game too and runs really well so I can definitely recommend picking it up.

Crysis 3 is great.

Everyone always talks shit about the series post Warhead but I rarely ever see people give actual reasons. The game is obviously more linear, but few first person games make you feel as powerful as the Crysis games do, especially the last section of Crysis 3. If you're looking for a 6-7 hour power fantasy trip through some absolutely gorgeous environments and relatively good enemy AI, Crysis 3 is an absolute steal at $4.

Do people who say that this is bad game played it only on Easy?

Try hard difficulties.
That's probably what people did. Playing the game on Veteran and above and not abusing the cloaking makes the game infinitely more fun. Putting a silencer on your guns and cloak walking through the entire game on Normal/Easy is not what the game is about.

But that's how I played through 90% of Crysis 1.

Does anyone care to post reasons on why the game sucks other than the length? The worst I remember around launch was that there were just so many setpieces it didn't even feel like a game.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Yeah, it's worth that price for the graphics, but playing the game itself is a real slog.

So, it's like Crysis/Warhead/2, then?

Guess I can save my $5 then. Still haven't finished Crysis 2 that I got from the Humble Bundle because it's just a bore to play.

It's the price of a sandwich and the campaign is short. You could beat it in under 7 hours. I think it's worth it at this price.

Is there still the suit powers like cloaking? Seems worth it if I can at least mess around with some abilities and look at pretty graphics.

I did that too in Crysis 1, I just think the level design caters more towards that since enemies are further away due to the openish world and stealth can be used to close the gaps to them.

Crysis 2 and 3 I feel are more about fast paced action and quickly moving from cover to cover in a smaller hub areas due to the linearity of them. For $4 though, I can't imagine anyone feeling ripped off for that price. The first few missions in C3 are kind of a slog but the later levels are pretty cool and the last segment is awesome just due to how much Crytek empowers the player.

GAF always leaves out multiplayer when discussing Crysis, and it annoys the hell out of me. Multiplayer in 2 and 3 are really good. Granted the population is pretty much dead at this point, but it doesn't change the fact that the manueverability and map verticality in the mp is topped by none, not even Titanfall.
