Kojima is teasing new trailer and off-screen pics for MGSV: The Phantom Pain

I think the reason the running animation looks so good is the camera movement... it's shaking and it adds a lot to the feel.
Makes it like each step has a weight.

At least $100M.

That's a lot. Hope it pays off for them. The big budget is no doubt a big reason they released Ground Zeroes as a separate product. At least they'll have the Fox Engine for other Konami games as well like the new Silent Hills.

How do you know that ?

I don't know the exact number but given the number of years they spent working on the FOX Engine alone, that number shouldn't be far fetched specially when you compare it with a small game like MGS4 that cost ~$60M.

"Happy New Year" guys!

So... May 2015 release date?

I wouldn't be surprised if it actually released in May.

They will be announced alongside the release date and the new trailer we're getting. And I'm hoping for this to be included in the limited edition

Hey I got those same Bose computer speakers!! That makes me feel special...

I wonder if Kojima just thinks up these crazy ideas in head, laughs about it, and then says fuck it I'm putting it in the game.

omg, V/V/201V would be perfect. Kojima plz.

How likely is a release date in the first half of the year anyway? I bet my friend it would come out before E3 but I'm starting to worry haha.

I have a feeling it's coming out before E3 too.

Why are people thinking it's so soon?
I believe I mentioned these earlier in the thread, but several notable sources suggest the game should arrive within the first quarter of the year. The website where you're able to redeem the Phantom Pain DLC tied with physical purchase of Ground Zeroes stated the content would be available "Early 2015". Initial fiscal reports projected it would be out prior to April 2015 (although it has been expanded to December at the moment). However, I believe Kojima or Konami recently outright stated development was "nearly completion."

God's had his chance.
Dat running animation is all about the head and shoulders being forward tilted and the legs managing to look like they have that "digging" quality you see out sprinters and such. How they managed to make it look so natural? Fuck me idk...but it's lovely

I think my brain has actually started to forget that this game is coming just around the corner...as soon as this hits I'm gone. The only other game I could be as excited about losing myself into for months is dd2...

Well I was just watching the Africa footage again for the millionth time and the jumping or more specifically landing animations are jarringly low quality compared to other animations. It always bugs me when I see it. Like it doesn't have enough impact or it's too fast or something. I can't really pinpoint the reason but something is off about it.

Now this on the other hand... God tier running animation. Best I've ever seen. I wonder what actually makes this so good. Is it the camera work, the motion blur or the animation itself? Why is it so head and shoulder above other running animations? I mean I never even think about running animations but this made me be really aware of how well done it is.

MGS animation has always been wonky as fuck and all over the board in terms of quality, especially transition animations.

I have been on media blackout since last e3 and the 30 min demo. I have a technical question. Have the latest showings of the game improved the pop in issues that plagued the game up to that e3 2014 demo i saw? This is my only technical complaint at the moment. The lod pop in is really noticeable and i was wondering if Kojima has addressed that, or said that he will address it for the released product.

It looked a fair bit better at tgs, but they showed a different environment so it's hard to compare exactly

I haven't seen any pop-in in the TGS gameplay presentation.

Also they are constantly working on the game, even Kojima said he didn't want to show Afghanistan yet cause it's still in "early stage". So let's just wait for the final build :)
