I wish the design was like the actually MvC one. They put little effort in that panel.
There's no Capcom characters in this comic.
It actually resembles (U)MvC3 Spidey, with the sharp bottom of the eyes & the red costume instead of orange.

They both want to, money is the problem. Capcom can't afford the licensing costs right now, hence why they had to let the contracts for the previous MvC games lapse & be removed from online stores. If their next few games Capcom has in the pipeline (SF5, MH4U, RE Revelations 2, etc.) make a good profit, then maybe we'll see MvC4 sooner rather than later. We're basically waiting for Capcom to get their financial shit together. I actually did a whole thread on the situation.
At best, don't expect MvC4 to happen until around Avengers: Infinity War (Part 2). This was just a nice nod to the MvC series, probably to show that Marvel does care about the MvC series & that they respect it.

Given that Adam Boyes (Sony Computer Entertainment America, formerly of Capcom USA) and John Vignocchi (Disney Interactive) are such good pals, I wouldn't be surprised if MvC4 was a PS4 exclusive, just like SFV, with Sony chipping in on dev costs.
Either that or, yeah, Capcom gets paid.

Boy what a way to show respect. To be fair this isn't the first time they've recently referenced it, they did a MvC skit on that Ultimate Spider-Man show assist characters and all.

That's probably the most likely scenario that could accelerate MvC4's creation. Though the part about Adam Boyes being a former Capcom USA employee and the fact that he & John Vignocchi are besties is news to me (but doesn't John cover Disney Infinity rather than Disney gaming as a whole)?

Marvel needs the exposure so I don't think exclusivity is the best way for the brand.

Nah, John is just primarily involved with Infinity because (on consoles) Disney has nothing really going on besides that. He was involved in Tron Evolution, and the cancelled Pirates of the Caribbean game.
They're both ex-Midway. Their relationship is why Grim Fandango is coming out this month.
As long as there's Capcom characters in the game, MvC is never going to be an important piece of Marvel's brand strategy. It'll always be just something for the fans.
Marvel doesn't need exposure, anything Marvel Studios (they make anything in the MCU) put out in theaters is basically the license to print money. Capcom is currently in no position to afford another contract with Marvel (that could change later if their upcoming games do well, but I'm talking about this exact moment). Sony footing the bill may be the only way that MvC4 could happen right now unless Capcom does get their financial shit together.
It's insane that the first thing I thought of when I first heard about the story arc was the Radioactive Man comic book Bart and Milhouse owned where he and Fallout Boy get killed on every page.
I think all of those bits are awesome. You missed the part in the last panel when Morlun talks about how childlike and innocent they taste.

I love the nod to MvC here, even if it looks like he's just another casualty. Maybe it's a new universe despite clearly being based on the fighting games on the off-chance MvC happens again? Either way, I'm happy to see all these Spider-Men, but I'm getting tired of them all dying. I mean, I know it's a cop-out, but I wouldn't mind something bringing them all back at the end.

laughed my ass off at this, but it's not the best part of the issue. the part at the end with the two spideys changing their web cartridges and making small talk ("I saw one guy with his mask off. I swear to god he looks like the guy from Seabiscuit." "I saw the guy from the social network" "one spider man would NOT stop singing show tunes") was just killer

The story with the two spider-men shooting the shit made me sad because it reminded me that slott could actually write. Both of those Peters acted more like Peter than 616 has in months.

I mean, I know that this won't stop MvC4, but Neoxon asked about the universe not being the right number for the MvC Earth, and I was spitballing an idea. I'm honestly concerned that they may kill 60's Spider-Man, though.
I like how they explicitly stated the 7-some Spider-Men they couldn't use, but that exchange got 4 of them into the story, anyway. Like, even the Electric Company Spider-Man's there, even if he's off-panel!
