Microsoft's indie developer's still haven't got their September payments.

When I saw the thread title, I was like waaaat, but then I saw the update.

I hope whatever error MS encountered is squished, I think its great that they are still supporting the X360 but stuff like this is embarrasing considering the immeasurable wealth the have as a company.

Good on Charla for coming here quickly, but whoever is handling that email account the devs answer seems to be dropping the ball. At least acknowledge that you received their mail so the dev isn't out of the loop :/

As far as I'm aware, the issues in this thread are directly related to XBLIG and XBLIG only. It has no association with anything on the XB1.

Thanks. I hope this situation not only gets sorted, but is never repeated. MS obviously needs better redundancy in their follow up to developers like yourselves

So, you're certain, that none of the unpaid developers were affected by the clause on the console?

If they were then the issues are unrelated. Many devs on XBLIG were affected by whatever this was, and it affected their XBLIG sales and payments. Whether or not they also had games on the Xbox One has nothing to do with this.

Hope those last 3 devs get paid. I still don't think this is an incredible conspiracy at the highest levels to fuck over devs. Or even any level.

All development on XBox — from indies to Activision — is held to launch, feature, and content parity, but apart from the common villain, that's unrelated to the payment issue.

Some devs come to GAF to:

- Get paid for XBLIG
- Get contacted by Microsoft to get an exception to the parity clause

Get. This. Shit. Sorted.

If devs need to go to a large public forum to get attention, you are fucking up. Surely this is incredibly clear at this point?

My point exactly. Aren't all indies, parring few bigger exceptions, forced to abide by the clause if they want their game to appear on the platform? Release simultaneously or first on the XB, or not at all, but the payment seemingly comes whenever it suits them. They want to treat the XB customers like first class, but the same doesn't appear to go for the developers.

Melchiah, XBLIG doesn't have anything to do with a parity clause. The parity clause has nothing to do with this issue.

Seems to transcend incompetence and is now firmly malicious in its action of not paying those 3 developers.

I wouldn't say I feel like it's malicious, nobody meant to keep us from our money. I would say that the communication could be a better from Microsoft's end, but they're not, as far as I can tell, out to hurt us. In fact they've been quite helpful now that the right people know there's a problem.

The same doesn't appear for either to be honest but this is not a thread for that discussion.

Hopefully the folks get sorted out. With that said I wouldn't shed a single tear if MS got sued.

Glad to hear that things are moving forward for your team.
