If both are screwed, i'd return it. No point in taking a chance on what could be a bum system.
It's feeling like it's impossible to get this system without a preorder, I didn't realize I wanted one until last night when I realized MH4U was coming out and I got so hyped that I wanted to get a New 3DS XL along with it. Sucks since I probably won't be able to take advantage of the trade in deal with Gamestop. What's with all the supply issues with Nintendo products in NA recently on both these systems and amiibos? All this stuff has been getting me down on Nintendo recently

so how's the 3D on this now that some more people have had a chance to try it out? I found the XL to be even worse than the OG 3ds so i wanna know if it's significantly better or not.

Wish I could take advantage of the Gamestop trade in deal as I have a launch 3ds and a XL but it seems like their midnight releases were the only way to pick one up without preorder and I don't mess around with those anymore.
If I can track one down I wonder if just reselling my old ones on amazon or ebay would be a better choice.

I think the tech is basically the same, so it won't blow you away. It keeps the 3D way better though. Still get some ghosting in MM though...

Just used Google translate to speak to Amazon.fr who apologized and asked me to wait until Monday. When i asked if they'll refund the 12.50 for fast delivery, i was told to wait until it's delivered and contact them again.
I've had so many problems with Amazon deliveries lately.

I've had a New 3DS XL for the past few weeks, and it's been so good.
Playing the 3D Classic of Streets of Rage has been old but new to play, which is a surreal feeling.
Once Ocarina 3D is finished, then it's onto Majora.
I wrote about it a bit here.

well my issue was that i would have a hard time finding and keeping the sweet spot on either 3ds so if it holds it better then that's promising.
No worries. Im personally loving my new 3DS. The smart 3d is brilliant. I always found it hard to keep it in the sweet spot before.

I just walked into best buy and bought the last one.
My MM 3DS XL and my MM LE game both had CN pins, I think the US CN ends before EU does though so maybe they've stopped in US already.

I find it to be significantly better. My biggest issue with the original 3DS was the fact that the viewing angles were so narrow. I never used the 3D for that reason. The tracking works wonders here. Very rarely loses the 3D effect when I shift my viewing angle.

Found my 32GB micro SD after searching my whole house 2 times! That hour was worth it as I also found some Coldstone gift cards. But anyways, I'm almost ready for the transfer.

So I got my New 3DS (regular) today, but it seems that the circle pad makes a clicking sound when I move it left or rotate anticlockwise. My old XL of 2 years never did this, so I'm a little suspect. Does anyone else have this issue? According to Nintendo, it shouldn't be an problem. But if this isn't normal I think I'll just return it to Amazon as faulty, seeing as I haven't done a system transfer yet. On the other hand, maybe it just needs breaking-in?
Any thoughts?

Really? This is the first I'm hearing of it.
During the setup it shows you in realtime how/where it tracks you, the area it tracks is pretty big, and no matter how hard I shook it, it didn't lose track of me, and had imperceivable delay from movement to reaction.
Edit: In complete darkness (apart from the screen) no less.

This pikmin transfer process is so adorable. Congrats Nintendo for making an annoying transfer system at least bearable to watch happen.
I didn't want to do the transfer because I want to have 2 3DSes to play (with my brother) so made a new NNID. It forever cements my MonHun love.
My EB Games Canada had them in stock, but not the shell cover. It applies great.

I was able to walk into a Target in the DC area around 9:30am this morning and get a black one. It looked like they had 3 reds and 2 blacks on the counter behind the registers. They sold out of the collectors editions as soon as they opened.
I did the transfer from my old 3ds XL to the new in about 30 minutes. I probably could have done it in about 15-20 minutes with the right sized screw driver handy at the start. I also brainfarted on when to switch the SD/MicroSD cards...thankfully I realized it before it deleted any data. The pc save file is definitely the way to go. As was the recommendation from here to use microSD with an adapater.
I'm not wild about losing the easy to access card slot for a fixed back cover with screws, that was a pain in the ass. Warning: the screws are really easy to strip. Go slow and be careful.
3d is much better on the n3ds XL. I'm looking forward to getting back into some of the older games I played in 2d on my XL.
I have one of the clear Hori covers on order from Amazon with the March 3 ship date. In the meantime, my n3ds xl will be carried around like a priceles relic until the covers arrive.
