Marvel

could never
Most likely online store to deliver early to the UK?

Simplygames might get you it a day early if you're lucky. But if you're expecting much earlier, try and find a brick n mortar game/electrical store no one has heard of lol.

You shouldn't rely for any impressions over any stream, really.

Streams can't show the IQ details by no mean.

They can't showcase the subtlety of the amazing HDR by no mean.

No way they can prove decent audio and score experience.

Despite way anyone on streams play, you will not be playing the game on the same way. Trust me on that one especially.

Also, streams will make one great sin - they will kill the initial feel of entering new areas, new arenas and new parts of the game. Once you spoil yourself initial dialogues, first encounters and so on, it will not feel good as going in the game blind.

It is not worth it, really. Not for this game. Same as TLOU basically.

As glad as I am that they are not doing what other teams do and start selling us DLC before the game is out, season pass this and that. If this game is 10-12 hours long, it would be huge if they had a 5 hour continuation of the story for $10.

Quote from the "past" but just read it.

...No DLC planned for now, at all.

Hence why I'm a single player only gamer, not that bad, I enjoy single player games far more .. It's just the download speed that's frustrating.

I can get a faster speed if I want, but I can only get 80 GB or 110 GB as an allowance at 20MBPS and once that finishes up they cut the speed all the way to 64kbps! ... I'm hesitant to use that because I have a feeling with online gaming/downloading games/movies/streaming I'll finish up the allowance in no time ... especially since my parents will be using the internet as well.

Does online gaming/streaming YT vids eat up a lot of GB?

Online gaming is a bit tough to give a clear answer too. Genereally it doesn't use all that much bandwidth, there's a comparison here where BF4, KZ:SF and FIFA are being compared, and they're all using very little data. Now streaming YouTube videos on the other hand can be quite a costly affair, depending on which quality level you're choosing and how many videos you're actually seeing.

If for some reason you end up on 64kbps I can recommend playing WoW. I managed to play that game for three months only using my phone's connection. I couldn't do big raids, but everything else worked fine.

the framerate in the stream i am currently watching seems so much better (solid 30) than in all the other gameplay videos so far. weird.

did you complete the game??

The concept of watching streams of a game people are planning on purchasing is so weird to me.
I understand if its for just a minuter or two to see what the gameplay is like but to just watch whole sections of a game...I don't even

Do you feel the same way about demos?

No but those are always going to be controlled experiences setup by the developers to be as spoiler free as possible. Who knows at what point in the storyline you could be jumping into a stream or what could be spoiled.

Yeah I just jumped into a stream with
Galahad extremely wounded
and was like oh shit close close CLOSE! I just wanted to have a sneak peek but you always run the risk of spoilers lol. I'm done now roll on next week aha

Understandable, we go in knowing the risk, personally I just watched a short action sequence and a little bit of cutscene dialog. The writing and delivery seems bearable, whether the storyline holds up I will have to wait and see.

Also we don't seem to get demos anymore.

What's the early consensus on the game? I'm buying it regardless because it looks amazing and it's my kind of game, but just wanted to know if it's actually any good.

I guess at this point in my gaming life I don't need to play something or even really see it first hand to know if I will like it or not. There are enough reference points for someone to refer to that give me a good idea if I am going to get it.

The Order being described as:
- Punchy Combat (Like Gears or TLOU) is massive for me as I feel both these games do satisfying gunplay better than any others.
- Great Locales and Atmosphere

Thats all I need in order to form enough of a framework of the game.

An online shop sent the game out early, I got my copy today and while it's literally the worst timing for me right now, I just had to check out the game:

The graphics often look like high quality pre-rendered cutscenes; The level of detail on the main characters is stunning, some of the environmental pieces and other characters are a bit lower on the poly count, but the post processing blends it together nicely. The cropped aspect ration works better in this game than it did in the Evil Within and that AA might just be worth the tradeoff.

The game starts of very slow and there's not much gameplay, but I kinda like it when a game introduces you to it's world instead of throwing you right in.

edit: Easter Egg picture removed. Sorry about that, didn't think this counts as a spoiler.

Yeah, I'm glad that I've gotten to the point where I can tell what to expect and if I'll enjoy games from prerelease footage. I've only bought a couple games in the past few years that I've regretted.

This is footage from a demo section, but just about the sexiest footage I have seen of the game.

The blacksight moment at 6:26 might just have sold me on this game. In the hands of good players it actually looks fun.

Not watching the video but the blacksight stuff is actually way cooler than I initially thought it would be. Using it to quickly take out grenades and explosives actually requires good timing and it adds a lot of style to the gunfights.

I have to assume many people are watching streams because they want to see whether the combat scenarios are any good. We all have plenty of evidence already that the graphics and sound are good.

Lately there have been too many games with a sound framework that is marred by the execution that pulls me out of the experience. I'm constantly thinking to myself "why did they do that?"
It could be something as simple as a button or camera control mechanic.
The Order I think opens itself up to skepticism based on the much discussed pov and black bars design choice.

Note to self: never read twitch/youtube comments again

Didn`t like the german voices (voiceacting is ok) o I am definitively going to play the game in english. Graphics are impressive, even in the streams.

This game is more combining graphics, sound, gameplay, atmosphere and story as a package and it should be experienced like this then only we can see the uniqueness and immersion from this game. If they try to look for gameplay from streams to confirm then they may spoil this game as a package as it will reveal some stuff which is not meant to be seen. Developers did good job not showing case many things in order avoid spoilers so far and they tried but they let it some stuff out in trailers due to bad impressions about this game early as they have not shown more.

Agreed. I'm avoiding all the streams like the plague right now and there's not even much temptation to watch them. The game is out in a few days and The Order is a prime example of a game that'll offer a better experience the less you know going in, so... yeah, it's a no-brainer.

Yeah, not watching anything.I think coming to threads allready spoiled enough.

I get that the game is intended as a holistic experience, but that approach doesn't help me if I'm still doubtful about the combat and I'm trying to decide whether I want to buy this game. It's worth it to spoil a little to make a more informed decision about spending 60 bucks.

(I'm just going to rent it anyway, so I'm not watching streams, but I have to imagine there are many people in the position I have described.)

From what I've seen and heard so far, if the story delivers then I am going to be very happy. I'm looking forward to some impressions on the lycan encounters.

There is a point later on in the story that had me near tears just wait until you get there.

addressing the complaints earlier in this thread about the lantern, it is a story element that restricts what you can do while holding it. There are other restrictive things in this game but most are restrictive due to story reasons and none are annoying. (to me)

Also I have had no issues with the controls as everything feels very intuitive including moving from cover to cover. My biggest complaint is becoming something I actually enjoy as the game moves along. The slower moments have gotten better and often serve up a lot of exposition into the characters background and the world around you. I have a complete man crush on Grey dudes backstory is so fucking badass.

Wont spoil the Lycan encounters that is something you will definitely want to experience first hand. Not sure if there is video of it floating around or not but do NOT fucking watch it.

I wouldn't spoil myself the game watching streams like many are doing....you just won't be surprised when you get the game.
I'd like to read more impressions though, we already know that the graphics are top notch, I'd like to know how all the elements in the game blend together (gameplay, narrative pace, environments, sound).

This game looks incredible, the level of hate before a game is even released is ridiculous. It smells like jealous fanboyism or people basing their impressions off of limited media. It reminds me of the Titanfall hate threads.

Point is, maybe it will suck but it certainly deserves a shot of people actually playing the fucking game before destroying it.

Can't we all just get along?
lolz

After taking alook at the Evolve face off thread and seeing all the screencaps posted in there along with the video and screencaps in the article, its rife with low quality assets shadows etc and it looks absolutely hideous. Seeing captures from the game made me that much more thankful for what I've seen from The Order so far. I mean look at these and compare it to the stuff weve seen from this game

Yet there are no graphics complaints or hubub for Evolve whatsoever. One thing is for sure, aftr seeing these caps and replaing a bit of Wolfenstein today, The Order is clearly in a league all its own.

The best word I can think of to describe the pacing is deliberate or maybe even methodical. The sound is absolutely top notch and I think the only score that will touch this one this year is Bloodborne or the Witcher III.Some of the ambient sounds are worth just standing still to listen to. Voice acting is superb some are better than others (Percival's va is so damn good while Lafayette's is hit or miss). The gameplay blends everything together in a very satisfying way.
