Would give my left nut for Sly Cooper 5, but it's not going to happen, unless that's what Sucker Punch is working on, because Sanzaru is multiplat ATM

That said, Sly Cooper next-gen fur simulation would ... be something else. hnnngg
If we don't get Sly 5, I bet we'll at least get a Ratchet and Clank style "reimagining" of Sly 1 in 2016 to coincide with the movie.

Interesting. I'm not into the Smash style of gameplay, or the Figurine -->Game mechanic that has blown up, but I could see it doing very well for Microsoft. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Sony do something similar actually. Are you expecting a portal of some kind for the NFC to function or would there be another way of transferring the characters to the game?

A portal. Have that moment where when you place the character on it the character appears on the TV.

The reason I don't see Sony doing the toys thing is basically they don't have as much money to throw around as Microsoft does. They are also in a comfortable lead with only the American market being one where Microsoft has good shot at overtaking them. I also wonder how interested they would be in another Smash-type game considering All-Stars. I don't see them getting the third-party characters people want this time either.

Either way this E3 will probably be the biggest one since what 2006/2007. So many possibilities and this year will feature the return of guitar hero/NFS/battlefront

Dear heavens the 3 days of conferences is just going to be an overload. Rock band and guitar hero coming back is huge to me......that already seals this year as the best in a long time. If battlefront 3 isn't a stat wars skinned battlefield and NFS underground 3 happens....heaven hath mercy. Plus possibly fallout 4 and so many other games. This is truly the year to watch e3.

Last year was pretty fun on the sony side with Project Beast, Uncharted 4, MGS V, and LBP3. I'm expecting more of the same this year.

Sony

- Uncharted 4 Gameplay and release date
- No man's sky
- Destiny's new DLC
- GTA V's DLC
- Until Dawn release date
- Localizations ( Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes )
- PS4 ports ( Journey, beyond two souls )
- PS loves indies
- Vita's reel
- Gran Turismo 7 trailer
- new IP from Japan Studio
- new IP from Bend
- Streetfighter V
- Deep Down
- Ratchet and Clank reimagined
- Silent Hills
- Metal Gear Rising 2
- Tony Hawk
- Overwatch
- a game from Ubisoft, probabaly rainbow six
- a game from EA, probably star wars

XBox

- Forza 6
- Halo 5
- new IP from Rare
- Fable Legends
- Gears Collection
- Gears 4 Trailer
- Quantum Break Demo and the TV tie in
- Telltale's Minecraft game
- Indies
- Tomb Raider
- New Call of Duty
- Tekken 7
- AC Victory
- The Division
- Just Cause 3
- Rock Band
Tekken on a Microsoft show? That's ehhh.. not all that smart from them IMO.

Are people really expecting a new SSX announcement? I thought the reboot wasn't regarded a success on last gen...? I can't see Fallout 4 getting announced and released in the same year; I also assume it will be at E3 this year, but don't expect a release until Spring 2016 at best. 2016 for QB would be lunacy in my opinion, but it being Remedy it wouldn't surprise me in the least. NFS, Battlefront and Halo I absolutely expect this year and I can see Microsoft making the smart decision to move Halo away from the overcrowded November release window for the breathing room.

i know some things about an SSX being in preproduction or at least it was. the 2012 SSX was a success enough just not a huge success. Mirrors Edge was not some huge financial success yet a small but vocal community got EA to green-light Mirrors Edge sequel/prequel. im sure the potential consumer base is larger for SSX than it is for Mirrors Edge.

Fallout 4 will definitely come out this year. its a serious game that'd sell huge if it released tomorrow with no warning or advertisements. its a franchise thats huge, itll push everything out of its way when Bethesda says the 2015 release date. from June to November there's plenty of marketing and demo time for the game. also Bethesdas last game (Skyrim) came out in 2011, its already been four years, no way Bethesda waits five years to release another game.

imo Quantum Breaks coverage has been spotty and it seems like the game is a ways off. with the fall and winter getting more and more crowded, it being a new ip, and possibly the game not being ready by then; i just see Microsoft pushing the game to an early 2016 release date for the best opportunity for sales and install base.

and yea Microsoft definitely wants to avoid CoD and Battlefront and will move Halo 5 to september to get sales and a community for Halo 5. lets not forget how quickly after Halo 4's launch that the community disappeared for CoD and other games, there's definite overlap between CoD, Battlefront and Halo 5.

yes let's be friends

lets :)

Well done, I agree with most of your take, but if MSFT comes with only this list of IP's they're in trouble.

In my view, outside of Rare IP(s) and maybe Crackdown, all XBOX fans are hungry for new and original IP. I would also add Phantom Dust, and the other IP, the name of which is eluding me right now, but the one with the dragon and he kid listening to his Walkman taking the dragon down .... Ya'll know what I mean.

I'll give this a go:

Sony
  • Uncharted 4.
  • Destiny Expansion.
  • Street Fighter V, new characters announced.
  • Final Fantasy XV.
  • Star Wars Battlefront, timed exclusive DLC.
  • Tony Hawk announced.
  • Indie segment (4-5 new announcements).
  • Full Throttle Remastered announced.
  • Metal Gear Solid V.
  • Metal Gear Rising 2 announced.
  • Ratchet & Clank.
  • Level 5 JRPG announced.
  • Guerrilla Games' RPG announced.
  • The Last Guardian re-revealed. I've been predicting a 2015 unveil for over a year now. It's nearly two years after Japan Studio's last two games (Puppeteer and Knack), so the timing just seems pretty good.

Microsoft
  • Indie segment (a couple of new announcements).
  • Call of Duty, timed exclusive DLC.
  • Halo 5.
  • Forza 6.
  • Quantum Break.
  • Fable Legends.
  • Scalebound gameplay footage.
  • Tomb Raider.
  • Rare's New Game announced.
  • Battletoads announced. Not developed by Rare.
  • Gears Trilogy announced.
  • Gears 4 announced.
  • AC Victory.
  • The Division, exclusive DLC.
  • Deus Ex 4 announced, timed exclusive DLC.
  • No Crackdown or Phantom Dust.

Nintendo
  • Indie segment (a couple of new announcements).
  • Zelda.
  • Star Fox.
  • Devil's Third.
  • Mario Maker.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X.
  • New Mario Game.
  • Super Smash Bros DLC.

EA
  • Still sticking with their dumb "behind the scenes" idea, despite no-one except EA execs apparently liking it.
  • Mass Effect.
  • Mirror's Edge 2.
  • Star Wars Battlefront.
  • Need for Speed.
  • Criterion's game gets a name.
  • UFC 2, Madden, FIFA, NBA Live and NHL shown.
  • Sims stuff.
  • Bioware's new IP, Battlefield 5 and Visceral's Star Wars game teased but not announced.

Ubisoft
  • A couple of small UbiArt games.
  • AC Victory.
  • The Division.
  • Just Dance.
  • Rainbow Six Siege campaign gameplay.
  • Watch Dogs 2.

Bethesda
  • Fallout 4.
  • Dishonored 2.
  • Doom 4.

The third party deals could go either way, I just based the new ones on the last deals they had (so Battlefield Frontline -> Star Wars Battlefront at Sony's conference, Tomb Raider -> Deus Ex at Microsoft's).

Two Sony first party announcements (Level 5 and Guerrilla's RPGs) plus two unveils (TLG and R&C) seems about right to me. Anyone thinking Sony are just going to announce everything are living in a fantasy land, they very obviously like to spread their announcements out between E3, Gamescom, TGS and PSX. Sony are still pretty tight with Konami and Kojima, so if Rising 2 is announced anywhere this year, I'm guessing it'll be here.

For Microsoft, the Gears announcements are predictable. Battletoads has been hinted at, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it and I figure they'd probably outsource it like they did to Killer Instinct. Platinum are a really fast studio, so even though the game has probably only been in development for just over a year, I'm guessing we'll see some gameplay of that. But I don't think we'll see any Crackdown or Phantom Dust. The latter for obvious reasons and the former because I doubt it's ready to show.

Nintendo will just be Nintendo, I'm not sure what to expect other than Mario games and probably some Smash DLC.

EA did the same "behind the scenes" bullshit at Gamescom that they did at E3 last year, so I'm sure we'll see more of it. They should have a bunch of new games to announce/reveal, plus I'm sure they'll tease some new ones that we all know are coming.

Ubisoft will be Ubisoft. Same shit, different year.

Bethesda has to have at least a couple of games, including a major one, to justify the expense of a conference. So I'm betting on Fallout 4 being one of them and of the other games we know are in development, Dishonored 2 and Prey 2, I'm leaning towards Dishonored 2 as another game they'll announce.

There are 16 available characters. Examples include Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, Banjo, Jago, Fable Character, Conner and Joanna Dark. They may go deep and bring back Battle Toad, Blinx or secondary characters from franchises like the Arbiter. A good third-party example would be Frank West.

Microsoft's Toy to Life will have original characters like Skylanders. You can play as these in the game on top of the 16 included by putting them on the portal equivalent. Extra stages could be sold too like in Infinity.

This thread rocks and is getting me excited. Some things that don't seem too likely but would be awesome here too, Monument Valley on the Vita being one.

Maybe I can make a few safe bets here...
More info on Scalebound, it'll look freaking awesome
Zelda release window
The Division, Fallout 4, Metroid maybe even!
Hope/kind of expect to see some awesome new indies
See some more of Wattam, Drinkbox's game Severed
Assassins Creed, CoD, other yearly regulars
Amiibos/Maybe smash DLC?
Guerilla's Game
StarFox+Miyamoto's other project(s)

Next Level Games is almost overdue. They haven't announced anything ever since Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon in early 2013. EARLY 2013. They have TWO teams, one making a Wii U game and the other a 3ds game.

Aren't they only something like 80-90 people? I doubt that is enough to be working on both a 3DS and Wii U title. There was an interview where they said they could be working on 2 projects at once if they weren't large scale projects, but that they only have the resources for 1 large scale project.

Colin disregarding Mirror's Edge 2 as not a big deal just because he personally isn't interested in it makes him come across as a bit of an obnoxious twunt to be honest.

Does it? Is no one else tired of acting like a game matters even when they don't care about it?

I'm still holding on to the belief that it's going to be Ni no Kuni 2. You know it makes sense.

Ugh, I fucking hope not.

During the program, Hino said that that he’d like to make an epic game that exceeds the scale of White Knight Chronicles.

Doesnt sound like Ni No Kuni for me. They obviously want to make something big this gen....in the category of xenoblade games maybe??

Heh, I mean I wouldn't act like that personally but, yes a lot of people seem to completely mock games simply because they don't care about them. Quite prevalent even on GAF sadly.

I think there are 1-3 cgi trailer esque games that MS likes to announce at every E3 that are a year + out. ( last year was Phantom dust, crackdown, scalebound). So if we assume 1 of those games is Rare's, what are the others.

Is Lionhead actually working on something else?( Im assuming legends would have to be released sometime in the summer)

Maybe a teaser for Undead labs thing( won't be out for a while probably )

I'm not sure what the relationship with Crytek is like after the Ryse 2 stuff. But there must be some contracted studios working on stuff

Just considering new announcements and reveal, not stuff we already know that will obviously be there with new trailer or release dates, I am expecting :

Sony :
- Re-reveal of The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 on PS4 - we need to know what Japan Studios, their last game was Knack !
- Teasers of Gran Tourismo 7 and God of War 4 - those game probably aren't ready, but people need to be excited about the future
- Announcements from Media Molecule, Guerilla Cambridge, Bend Studios, Quantic Dream, ... those studios have worked quite come time on their projects, it's time we get a sneak peak.
- Trailer of Guerilla Games's Hoizon project - the cat's out already, just show the damn game
- Level 5's new PS4 game, whether it's Ni No Kuni 2 (I doubt it), Darl Cloud 3 (I would love this) or a new licence, we are getting something.
- Morpheus game and release schedule and details.

(I am not expecting everything at E3 though, but spread around GDC,E3,GC,TGS and PSX)

Microsoft
- Teaser for Gears of War
- Announcement of Rare's new project, Battletoad or otherwise
- Confusing "Exclusivity" announcement for a big third party title

Nintendo
- Animal Crossing U
- Big Mario 3D title
- Retro's new Metroid game

I'm not saying that. He's fully in his right to not give a shit about it and that's fine, but he also goes as far as to disregard the game making an appearance at E3 because, paraphrasing here, "the first game was no smash hit" and, seemingly because he doesn't give a rat's ass about the franchise, it's not going to be given the big E3 treatment this year.

Uhh hey Colin, remember back at E3 '12 when EA closed their conference with the unveiling of Mirror's Edge 2 and loads of people went apeshit? 'Cos I do!

Doesnt sound like Ni No Kuni for me. They obviously want to make something big this gen....in the category of xenoblade games maybe??

Ni no Kuni is pretty epic is it not? Not to mention, Level 5 are planning on debuting their PS4 game in front of a predominantly Western audience, an audience that accepted their game a hell of a lot more than the Japanese did. Yeah it might not be Ni no Kuni 2, but the pieces fit together enough for me to think it's a realistic possibility.

Seriously, people are hyped for that game. I'm sure that this game would do much better in sales. I wouldn't discard any game like that.

What are the chances level 5s new game is dragon quest 11? It's definetly a big deal and about the right time. It's probly a tgs thing but I'd love it, DQ8 is the only game in the series I truely love.

Then why does he mention White Knight Chronciles?? NNK and WKC are totally different games in my eyes...
Didnt Hideo Baba also said in an Interview that Level 5 ended their partnership with Studio Ghibli??

Well just wait and see :) I would also love a Ni No Kuni sequel

But I actually think this could be the Big Budget Japano RPG Verendus was talking about

No. He said Studio Japan was working on that one. I really hope it's NNK2 though. :)

A while ago, there was a small Square Enix Live Show/Conference...AND Hideo Baba was also there as a guest promoting his own game.

No. He said Studio Japan was working on that one. I really hope it's NNK2 though. :)

it could be a collaboration tough :) Like Bloodborne

Level 5 was also talking about, how they want to make a new big Franchise after Youkai Watch?

Maybe their own FF-esque game with Sony Japan

No. He said Studio Japan was working on that one. I really hope it's NNK2 though. :)

No he didn't. This is a case of Chinese whispers, for lack of a better term (I never did like it, sounds kinda racist). All Verendus said was that it's an big "FF style" JRPG from SCE. Everything else was speculation from others.

But even if he did, Japan Studio is credited as a co-developer for almost every Sony second party game that comes out of Japan (White Knight Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, etc.). They don't really co-develop the games though (a look at the credits of those games would tell you that), they seem to take more of an assist role, like Sony Santa Monica do with a number of western studios.

Zero. Square Enix announces Dragon Quest games, not Level 5, and E3's the last place they'd ever announce it.

Besides, I was under the impression that starting with DQX, Square Enix wanted to bring development of the main DQ installments in-house.

I hope so. We need more extreme sports games. From SSX to waverace/f-zero types to EA's Big series and some Smuggler's Run/Motorstorm type offroad games.

I'm feeling a lot more positive about E3 2015 than just about any other E3 I can think of, it's got so much potential to be amazing.

Sony
  • Uncharted 4 Cinematic Scene of gameplay, set on some crashed boats or something heading down a waterfall
  • Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Trailer! Beta for Plus members after the show
  • Destiny Expansion for a little while, everyone sort of fades out until it's over
  • Sony taking another crack at PS All-Stars Battle Royale, will be a F2P fighter with rotating roster, early 2016. Gallahad, Fetch, Knack and Robbit teased.
  • Gravity Rush 2 moving to PS4 only, with Gravity Rush HD as a pack-in or downloadable. They've fixed the combat so it's not utterly infuriating
  • Ratchet & Clank Redux trailer, no on-stage demo, shown alongside movie trailer
  • Street Fighter V on-stage demo
  • Playstation Loves Indies, games include A Hat In Time, Spire, The Girl & The Robot, and Lethal League
  • Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 is exclusive to PS4, Kratos or Shuei Yoshida are unlockable characters (Read as: Pre-order exclusives)
  • Guerilla Game's Horizon is the big finisher, beautiful gameplay is somewhat tarnished by the mention of "seamless connectivity" and the possibility it may be always-online, though this isn't specified on stage.
  • New PaRappa or Ape Escape somewhere in the middle, I can only hope
  • Rime / The Witness / Tokyo Jungle 2
  • Morpheus demoing for a little bit, will do the proper stuff at Playstation Experience.

Microsoft
  • Obligatory CoD demo, going back to World War 2 (Kevin Spacey stars)
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider demo, they show actual puzzley tomb raiding
  • Halo 5 on-stage demo, set in space, there is shooting
  • Kamiya live on stage to demo Scalebound, looks incredible and difficult to describe
  • Rare on stage, Banjo Threeie is happening, gameplay trailer, 2016, dreams are achieved
  • Quantum Break strangely absent
  • Just Cause 3 on-stage demo, some exclusive pre-order timed dlc costume ridiculousness.
  • HoloLens shown off, akin to the ol' Project Natal demoing.
  • Left 4 Dead 3 demo
  • Guitar Hero reboot beats Rock Band to the punch, has 6th button on controller forcing people to re-buy.

Nintendo
  • No live show again, Treehouse & Digital Experience return
  • Smash DLC 2-packs: One is Wii U exclusive and contains characters that wouldn't work on 3DS (See: Ice Climbers). Inkling from Splatoon and Cpt. Toad are amongst the line-up
  • Zelda U given a solid 20 minutes of gameplay on the stream, showing off why being open world is important in this game
  • Starfox is just called "Starfox", contains classic space shootiness interspliced with Project Guard and Landmaster stuff.
  • Mario Maker with amiibo support, Zelda amiibo set shown off and connectivity teased, but not explained.
  • Devil's Third given a brief trailer
  • Splatoon tournament in place of last year's Smash tourney, comes out very soon after E3
  • Animal Crossing U shown off, takes a lot of elements from Tomadatchi Life.
  • Pikmin 4 announced, pretty much a direct sequel, doesn't do anything groundbreaking. Potentially 3-player coop this time around.
  • Metroid Prime 4 announced, last big WiiU title. Brief trailer, 2016, multiplayer is in.
  • Fire Emblem If gets a big showing
  • 3DS successor is shown, or at least directly talked about. Coming 2016, logos of Luigi's Mansion, Warioware, 3D Land and Pikmin are shown, but no actual footage of anything. "Expect more in the coming months"

EA
  • "At EA, we do things a little bit different"
  • Mirror's Edge 2 demo, only non-sport title to be shown in a finished state
  • Mass Effect 4 trailer
  • Battlefront delayed, everyone upset
  • Garden Warfare follow-up teased
  • Sports
  • That extreme sporting game with barely saw last year is back, holds the SSX name for no apparent reason

Ubisoft
  • Alisha is back with her girlwood
  • Watch_Dogs_2, looks good, everyone hideously sceptical
  • The Division is underwhelming
  • Rainbow Six Seige is slightly less underwhelming
  • Assassin's Creed 1886 shown, seems alright
  • New Rayman with funky artstyle, maybe something akin to Yoshi's Wooly World?
  • Beyond Good & Evil 2 (hahaha awww)

Bethesa
  • Prey 2 is back, baby
  • Fallout 4 looks like everything we ever dreamed it would
