So much for "she's a lawyer, surely she knows what she doing" lol.

I love this. Sauber management deserves this.

Pretty wild. Sure that's great for team moral.

Again, I don't think the crew members will screw him over on purpose, but I doubt that they'll support him in every way, if the move really threatens the team's existence.

e: I really wish both parties the best.

You're very much going on a limb in assuming the team has love for their management. They love their team, I'm sure, but their management that nearly brought them to bankruptcy and now this? I'm fairly certain they blame the management and not Giedo for this shit. As any of us would.

Problem now is that they also have signed agreements with Eriksson and Nasr and both bringing sponsorship money that requires them to actually drive for the team.

So basically they have another lawsuit in their hands depending to which driver they chose to retain.

We kept joking about Sauber signing drivers everyday but I fear this might be the final nail in the coffin for them.

With another season fast approaching, and I'm scrambling to find out what terrible viewing option I'm stuck with this year, I keep wondering if FOM will ever provide a paid/subscription package for fans to access the race weekend online.

It's starting to feel like it won't happen in my lifetime.

All you have to do is outlive Bernie.

Never mind.

That reminds me... who's actually going to the Melbourne GP this year?

Anyone here keen on photos of the particular garages/noses? Pit walk is damn early tomorrow morning.

Very useful. Cheers.
Very welcome :) Hopefully it's actually worthwhile. Doesn't seem to be tied to mobiles directly (it creates a URL which can be sent via email, not just mobile number). Noticed a few times are TBA, but it said it was a "subscription" so maybe they'll get updated as the times are formalised.

'@SauberF1Team's lawyer just told the judges that practice sessions start tomorrow. He's not too well informed...

Thankfully @GvanderGarde's lawyer tells the court that practice starts Friday - but @SauberF1Team's man still thinks it's tomorrow

'@SauberF1Team's lawyer repeating tired safety arguments. Judges tell him 'why don't you just report it to the FIA?'

Comedy material right there.

#F1 Sauber has to inform FIA which 2 drivers will be nominated for the #AustralianGP until Thursday 4 p.m. local time. #AMuS

Ericsson and van der Garde are great friends (at least they used to be) and used to train together during the off-season. I'm guessing they might feel a bit awkward at the moment.

Giedo won!

This season ROCKS! :D

So what is gonna happen? Are they gonna let him race (and possibly get lawsuits from other 2 drivers), give him tons of money as compensation (even though Giedo said that he is not interested in money), or will Sauber skip this race? The most hilarious thing would be if they activley prevent him to race, which will cause police to start arresting people on the spot in the paddock.

What a comedy. :D

Right now, there's first gonna be the appeal, which is on thursday morning Australian time (which should be around midnight in Europe, I guess).

After that, they have to let him drive, legally. If they don't it will cost them quite a bit of money.

Then again, not letting either of the other two drivers drive is gonna cost them just as well.

It's a bit of a damned if they do and damned if they don't situation. They're gonna have no other option than to buy off one of their drivers' contract I suppose.

Except if they don't let him drive Giedo can seize team assets and can have team leadership arrested...

That is what I expect, they just buy off VDGs contract.

You mean that guy who's father-in-law is a billionaire and doesn't care about the money but wants his drive? Very slim chance...

I see no other option really, and while he says he's not in it for the money, a few million will probably make him say otherwise.

Sauber is fucked. VDG is (rightly) determined to race, won't back down, and will almost definitely win every court battle this situation produces.

Ericsson and Nasr must be pissed.
