Well now that was a great post to convince people to buy this game!

When you play with the English dub (because again, it's dual audio!), we dubbed the Engrish as Japanglish -- so, for example, where Kagura would say "Hey, mole! Time to revenge!" in the Japanese (yes, that's the actual line), she says "Oi, mogura! Koroshite yaru!" in the English (with English subtitles, of course).
We figured it was only fitting!

I'm going to play this game for scientific purposes.
Neato.
For what it's worth, this game is actually good if you're really into action games. The gameplay is better than the boobs. Oh yes, I went there.
Tried to break the game but it just kept going, quick video showing what combat is like and how fluid it is from attacks to character switching for those interested.

GameStop's page for the game is up, surprised it's only $50.

Yes! hoping the trend we saw at the end of PS3 generation continues into PS4 with niche budget titles...makes it easier to grab on the side.
Damn the page for the game even has a pretty close release date and this game was just announced...
Haha, figures. I bought a second hand Japanese copy not too long ago because I thought it'd never get localised.
Pray asia had the jp version for 49.99 a few weeks ago.
Almost pulled the trigger but held off. Glad I didn't import it too.
Remember, that's just a placeholder at the moment. Meaning it's roughly the timeframe we're shooting for, but it's by no means final and very, very much subject to change.

I have to go stop importing games. This has to be the sixth game in the last two years I've imported that's being brought over.
Before you stop, do us one last favor and import DQ7 on 3DS as a parting gift for the rest of us pls.
Do it anyway.The greater good.Haha, I don't have an import 3DS though.
This is great news, I will double dip. Easily one of the hidden gems on PS4. Game is super fun and just really cool. The gameplay shines especially when you unlock weapons and skills. Characters move fluidly and being able to chain combos together between 4 different characters while switching between each characters main weapon, secondary weapon and sub weapon makes for some amazing looking combo's.
Look past the perversion and it's just a fun title to play.
I disagree. I wanted to enjoy the gameplay in this game but it generally fell flat. I was trying to be forgiving too when playing but I had finished Bayonetta 2 so it was hard to compare. Overall I just felt like the action was generic and you just continue to fight enemies who take way too much punishment and uninspiring bosses.
So basically it's not as good as Bayonetta 2? Isn't that true of a lot of action games. Anyway looks like a weird game to go along with the new version of EDF. Might pick it up since I don't have a Wiiu so I am limited to DmC and DMC3 SE whenever that is coming out.
I'm not putting it in the same spectrum of Bayonetta 2, but it was hard to ignore how far apart these two games were because I had just beat Bayonetta 2.
Everything about the game just feels cheap. It'd be different if the action was there, but it grows stale after a couple levels or when you encounter enemies you don't know how to defeat.
Just hearing of this now. First Senran Kagura 2 and now this? I can't wait.
I sincerely hope that the physical editions of both are made available here, though. There's been no mention of online retailers carrying the physical version of Senran Kagura 2 and the XSEED online store won't ship here.
I think that's because after DOA: Beach Volleyball, people expect DOA to be mostly absurd fanservice. Dragon's Crown and Killer is Dead were new IPs, so they got more attention from game journalists.
I gotta say, I'm a little worried how this game is going to go down here in the present state of things. I won't care, I'm gonna enjoy what I enjoy. But I am anticipating some... discussion.
Yeah, I'm hoping either EBGames/Amazon.ca offer it. I'd hate to import from the US and pay the ridiculous USD --> CDN exchange as well as brokerage charges. >_<I don't know about SK2 but at least with this one gamestop is already carrying it and hopefully Amazon will as well so you won't need to go through Xseeds store.

Sorry! But we did learn what part of the UAE that was actually supposed to be, and labeled it properly as "Dubai."
This is, by all accounts, the best game in the Onechanbara series by a wide margin, and is quite beloved in the office by our fighting game aficionados especially, as it's apparently a very "technical" game, with tons of depth to its combat and a lot of potential for crazy combos.
...I say "apparently" because I suck at fighting games, so when I play it, I just kind of "intelligently button-mash." Which works pretty well -- I feel like a badass doing all kinds of crazy moves, even if I don't know exactly how I pulled them off -- but does make some of the boss battles pretty tough. This is definitely a game that calls for people to learn its ins and outs and play it "right" in order to be fully appreciated.
Which should come as no surprise, being a Tamsoft title (the same company responsible for the Senran Kagura games).
We said we wouldn't be releasing any games on the basis of fanservice alone. But as with Akiba's Trip, we saw a lot to like with Onechanbara aside from its fanservice. It's a deep, fun brawler with a party rock soundtrack and a cast of fun characters with laissez-faire attitudes and kick-ass moves. It's a bit cheesecake, to be sure, but one thing I like about it is that when you get past the outfits, you have a cast of strong female protagonists led by a badass female military commander fighting back hordes of zombies without breaking a sweat -- it's very much a "girl power" game at its core, it just happens to also be kind of sexy about it.
But, I mean... how can you not love any game where THIS is the theme song?

So ridiculous, but so catchy. It's like a microcosm of the game itself.

My brother was a big fan of this series (he bought a 360 theme of it and never changed it) though probably for more "obvious" reasons (>.>) My view point back then was a lot more "holier-then-thou" towards it though fortunately I kept that to myself. Years later, being older and now being more "appreciative" and more open about lewd things, though more thanks to expertly crafted games like Bayonetta and Vanilla Software titles being so happen to be draped or contain elements of such, I still can't believe I'm going to play a Onechanbara game all because you guys are bringing it here. I'm already a Senran Kagura fan because of you guys and gals and even am now in the know about Life and Hometown despite avoiding such social depravity less then a year ago. When you play with the English dub (because again, it's dual audio!), we dubbed the Engrish as Japanglish -- so, for example, where Kagura would say "Hey, mole! GOTY
Glad they listened when I said to bring over Z2. Bringing over the 1st game would've been a mistake.
Though XSEED cannot work miracles and ask for a PC version to be developed
Onechanbara Z2: Chaos - Banana Split Edition is up for pre-order on Amazon.com!
Constantly refreshing Amazon.ca, since .com won't ship it to Canada. I don't even know why I want to pre-order this so badly. Just need to get it locked down so I can sit back and wait.

LOL @ the censored cleavage. Interested in getting this for the art book.
Ah sorry, I just thought it was funny even though I've seen a number of similar cases before. Thanks for the clarification. It's good to know that the game isn't censored. Before anyone asks, the game itself will NOT be censored in any way, shape or form. Retailers and the ESRB are just very finicky about what goes on boxes that'll be displayed on store shelves next to E-rated games, so in the interest of not having our game shoved behind a counter where no one can see it without asking for it, we acquiesced here.
Once again, though, the game itself will NOT be censored in any way. At the risk of being quoted out-of-context... in-game cleavage remains untouched.
