Onechanbara Z2: Chaos coming west this summer

Oh, no, I don't mind that you brought it up at all! I very much dislike that third parties have so much control over what shows up on store shelves (and even digitally; we couldn't use any of the classic images of Dela from Brandish PSP for the game's PSN icon in North America due to what was considered too much cleavage and/or butt crack, thus the treasure chest icon that's present on the store now -- though we're trying the classic Dela image again for Europe, so fingers crossed!).

Just goes to show how ingrained the whole censorship thing runs in Western (particularly U.S.) culture, I guess!

Not even on PSN? That doesn't make sense especially since the icons for custom themes and avatars featuring scantily clad women aren't censored at all. Or do they have a separate rule for them since they aren't games?

It may have to do with the ESRB rating -- in Brandish's case, the game was rated T, whereas I think most of the scantily-clad icons you see on PSN are associated with M-rated games. And if the age listed on your PSN account is under 17, you actually won't see any M-rated games or associated downloads at all when browsing or searching PlayStation Store -- it's like they don't even exist.

I'm guessing if I liked Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus I'm going to enjoy this too? Pretty good timing since I was planning on finally getting a PS4 this summer.

Will it be paid DLC down the line, or is it ONLY available via first-print copies? I don't have a PS4 yet, but might get this down the line.

are these games good?

Do you enjoy Dynasty Warriors type of games?
You don't mind the game being easy?
You don't mind the story being basic?
Are you okay with the graphics not being anything groundbreaking?

Gameplay is fine for most of the part but the game lacks polish in many areas which can be outputting for some. You could try watching some gameplay and see if it makes you interested in the game after seeing combos, listening the music etc. Maybe if you wanna go clean watch gameplay from the previous game to get the idea without spoiling anything.

Also I'll be putting up boss fights and some combo videos in the morning. But if you have questions just catch my streams and ask questions. :)

global marketing strategy: sex sells

...To a very small, specific, possibly dwindling demographic; especially when it comes to western audiences. Overtly sexy games sell notoriously poorly.

This is a game made by people that love campy bikini samurai monster slayers who turn zombies into blood fountains, for people that love campy bikini samurai monster slayers who turn zombies into blood fountains. I feel like the camp and gore is integral. Banana crotch protectors in a vacuum probably wouldn't sell this game. Although now I wonder what kind of game these guys could make if they did strip away everything but the strawberry pasties.

What is Cero Z? Is that like Adult Only? :l

By the way was stream taken down? Its not loading.

EDIT 2: OH MY GOD YOU MUST SEND ME THAT OFFLINE PICTURE IN A DM. O_O

Eeehh, it's more of a "hard M/17+" as games like GTA5, Lollipop Chainsaw, & Dead Rising 2 have received it in the past. It's more due to how violent a game is. Technically, it's considered 18+ (their D is an equivalent of a M, or 17+), but most of the time, a game is Z for its violence, not its sexual content. Heck, Catherine, a game rated M here, was rated C, or 15+, in Japan.

You would figure Z would be the boobtastic rating, but their culture is so much different than ours. Ours shys away from boobs and sex in movies / games yet for them its the exact opposite. They have topless scenes on regular network television.

Yeah, they don't allow nudity in console games over there though. Western games that have it are censored for the Japanese release, as are PC Visual Novels when they're ported to consoles.

Cero Z? Oh that's kind of adult only in Japan. If you are buying it in Japan you'd need an Japanese card that proves your adult.

This game is Z for the dismemberment. Some of the bosses get some brutal deaths. These games are even put in their own section. It's the cause of that infamous boob booth and cgs it's half tittlation and half keeping the proper ages in.

So I recently purchased the Asian edition of this game, figuring that even though I've forgotten most of the kanji I learned, maybe I'd figure out the gameplay and stuff through dialogue.

I was wrong.

So anyway, do you guys know any place where I can learn the basics of the game? I get my ass kicked in the damn tutorial stage...

Ehh, why not, pre-ordered it at Amazon even though I don't yet have a PS4. Whim is just waiting to meet with the next right price/bundle.

Thank you! On to GameFAQs to search for those missions and stuff, but this should help so much. Cheers!
