Guys, the alternate battle theme leaked. It was a hidden music file on the site. I uploaded it to youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjVkXlxsO8Q

I won't rule out the option of moving some/all of those HUD elements to the Gamepad, but for now, this is the only way for them to show how the combat system works during play.

It's unlikely knowing how the GamePad screen looks and that you need all of that info during battles. You can probably disable the HUD and quest updates again but all the battle stuff has to be there.

A single young man had saved the ship from that predicament. His valiant efforts repelled the bioweapons, but he vanished along with his Doll afterwards.

However, that did not mean the Moby Dick was safe. A strange planet had appeared before the ship. One that was not marked on the space chart they had acquired before departing the Earth.

“Why had nobody noticed the planet before then? Was it because we were too busy dealing with the pursuit forces? Or...”

The short stories are great because they give us first insights into the story (beyond the premise). I really enjoy them. Really curious about that young man and the new-found planet.

As much as I like literary allusions, I have to agree. In this case, I prefer White Whale to Moby Dick.

I'm calling it now DM stands for Deus Machine. DM Engine powers all the dolls via auxiliary power.

Some other interesting tidbits - humans made first contact and discovered impending doom about 2024 (30 years before their escape). At the same time they received the technology for DM Engine and with an extremely accelerated technology/energy base and a focused society, managed to put together ark ships in 30 years.

I'm assuming that they're just taking the idea of the planet shifting in and out of… something. Or whatever. Similar to Mira in Baten Kaitos, which was also by Monolith Soft (but a different team).

I'm presuming that Kojima's talking about whether it was a good idea to have the Nopon continue to be in the series? From what seems to be talking about the Tatsu plush, he goes on to wonder if it was a good idea to include the Nopon again. Also, the website now lets you scroll through images.

Please don't take what I say to be 100%, as I don't have full knowledge of Japanese....

We had a new plush made for Tatsu... but at the start of development, there were actually quite a few arguments about whether we should put Nopon in the game or not.

Then the event planners started pushing lots of Nopon-related ideas, and in the end, Takahashi joined in on the fun and came up with the character of Tatsu. Now, we're really glad that we put them in the game after all.

The food jokes pop up a lot in the short stories as well.
