The free features of the app are decent. It's definitely a better app than last year. Not ready to pay for premium though. PEACE.

Enjoying the new graphics and F1.com's premium live timing service is pretty cool so far (at least for me on the website version).
Yeah, according to Twitter no one can access the premium content via mobile apps. I think the web version had issues but now may be fixed.

Cunts. Think they'd get this shit right.

Just as well. Doesn't work.

It's because they haven't announced their drivers yet AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

They have both riders (Ericsson and Nasr) currently sat in their cars in the garage. They cant send them both out otherwise they'll be in contempt of court. They cant send GVG out, as he doesnt have a Super-license, thanks to Sauber.

Monisha Kaltenborn made a brief appearance in pit lane then fucked off. Go figure.

You can send out test drivers on practice days, can't you? I didn't think the drivers who practiced had to be the ones who raced.

Damn. This is the only way to describe this situation:

Shaneus, chill bro! It's only the first practice session of the year and only the timing tower is missing.

Relax, mate. Everything is not going to be shit for long :p

Easy for you to say, you pay nothing and can see the entire track. I pay $540 plus access to the app and can see one corner :/

I still can't hear what everybody else seems to hear in the Honda engine. It sounds like an unoptimised mess to me.

The Mercedes sounds like my idea of a v6, light and clean with massive intake boost from the turbo.

I would still rather they had the mental v10s back, or better yet if they really set these new systems loose with no fuel or part usage restrictions at all. Every lap record on every track would be demolished.

And for some reason I am hating sky's coverage less than usual. Either it's me being desperate for F1 being back or Johnny Herbert is somehow managing to actually make "Crofty" and his talking pish slightly more entertaining.

I know, I used to pay for the Four Corners package when I lived in Aus.

The live timing is working for me on the website fine. I signed up with a different email than I used for the F1.com stuff for previous seasons so I wonder if that's related to it.

It's good to see a lot of the cars seem to be handling well. The Force India guys looked particularly comfortable. Sainz was one of the few that looked unhappy with his setup. Max looked good however.

This might have been the most interesting fp1 of the season. Not sure this level of activity will keep up, and the intrigue might not be the same either.

Merc too stronk. Bulls should be ahead of STR, so the times are still relatively meaningless. It's still impressive that Nico set his time on like the 2nd lap, and it's within 2 tenths of last season's best. PEACE.

Merc beasting and dat Ferrari straight line speed, damn.

All of the cars look so much better this year. I'm starting to like the Williams nose too.

Can someone give me a complete rundown of what happened with Sauber? Way I've interpreted it, they've taken pay driver money from three drivers but only two were setup to drive, with van der Garde missing out?

Is that all?

Live timing was on TV, albeit in a far less obvious fashion. Very intermittent.

More people tweeting Monisha has literally left the circuit and is being looked for. Final verdict on the case and repercussions for Sauber/Monisha coming within the next 30 mins.

Basically, VDG and Sutil signed contacts last year to race in 2015. VDG also paid £8m in advance. Since then, Sauber has told them to look elsewhere (which happens all too often in F1) and signed Eriksson/Nasr, bringing more money/sponsors to the team.

VDG is now (rightfully so) fighting for the seat he paid for and was promised, and is winning in spectacular fashion. Sauber is trying their best to be as uncooperative as possible - not giving him a paddock pass, overalls, do his license paperwork etc - and that, paired with their ridiculous defence claims, has landed them in deeper shit. He finally had a seat fitting this afternoon during FP1 but no further preparations have taken place.

Sutil is also taking legal action against the team but it's understood that he's seeking a financial settlement and no longer desires the seat.

It's genuinely sounding like the team principal Monisha Kaltelborn could face a prison sentence at this rate, and the teams' assets will be siezed. I very much doubt they will be racing.
