Kojima will no longer be a Konami executive from April 1st + KojiPro is no more?

history is relative

Can someone edit the XOF GIF, but with Skullface erasing Kojima instead?

Based on what people have posted and found out (nice one detective Gaf), I suspect that Kojima has given up the whole of the IP to Konami.

With his name rubbed off all the existing material, it is the end of his association with Metal Gear IP.

This does not mean doom and gloom for Silent Hills. Maybe this was part of the "deal" of him taking on another Konami IP, he had to give up rights to his "baby".

I don't claim to know the ins and outs, this just feels like the most logical thing that has happened.

I'm kind of in a "watch the world burn" mood. I say, Iwata is now best pals with Kojima and has given him his own studio and free reign. This is a bid to offset the negative word of mouth in gaming circles about their DeNA mobile stint, and to hype Nintendo NX.

Boy, that would be a thread for the ages. I doubt NeoGAF would be able to withstand the shitstorm. I'd probably laugh myself to an early grave from the reactions.

I like the idea. Then Nintendo could have KojiPro head of the mobile games development. Kojima will only make touch games from now on!!!

Whoa whoa there's more:

http://web.archive.org/web/20150221023132/http://konami-digital-entertainment.com/jobs.php

Feb 21st - Kojima Productions Los Angeles (West Los Angeles, CA)

Now - Konami Los Angeles Studio (West Los Angeles, CA)

Yup, KojiPro as a branding is dead.
Oh wow.

Google Cache says it was like that on March 17th as well, strangely: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...www.konami-digital-entertainment.com/jobs.php

I'm more curious to know the reasoning. Wonder if this means snake can go back to smash. At least regardless we know Kojima and his team will still get work.

Sony, sell your f-ing real estate division and buy kojima

And I mean now

I know that thinking about this doesn't do much good right now, but Kojima and Sony are a match made in heaven. Kojima can use being under the umbrella of a big-publisher, Sony is in need of stepping their Japanese development up, and both have a thing for creative freedom. When you consider how vocal Kojima has been on wanting to work on something else, and how Sony allows cases like The Last Guardian to even exist (in addition to be one of the most diverse catalogues of "experimental" titles), I think both would enjoy each other's company.

And let's face it: Kojima has made more than enough Metal Gear games. Letting the man go where he wants and pressuring Konami to stop resting on their dependance on him can only do good for the industry. Maybe Metal Gear will become different (possibly worse), but there's little that can be done. Kojima's MG Saga had its run.

Does this mean Kojima will be leaving Konami?

Would be pretty sad if so. MGS1+4 are one of my fav games. I don't want him to leave in such a weird and bitter way.

This only means one thing. Peter Molyneux will take reigns of the MGS franchise.

Or that Kojima will sign a three project deal with Sony and put a closure on TLG's development.

Predictions: Layoffs. Fox Engine becomes Konami's CryEngine. Kojima given more creative freedom with more financial constraint. Kojima only a producer of future Metal Gear games.

Removing his name from the games that have been that company's lifeblood for years seems to indicate that there has been some sort of fallout, no?

Kojima Productions is dead. But seems like the devs are alright and still work for Konami.

The heck is going on with Kojima and the removal of his name though? This can only mean that he really is not part of Konami anymore.

It really seems like Kojima will be leaving and that's why Kojima Productions studios are being rebranded as Konami studios.

Scrubbing his name off prior work is not how you treat IP transition, especially if he still provides work for Konami.

Rockefellers. Skull and Bones. Microsoft. Al Qaeda. A Cabal of Bankers. The melting point of steel. What do these things have in common? Wake up sheeple, the landfill wasn't even REAL!

Moli Pro incoming!

Without Kojima no one cares about Konami, relying on one person to be face of your entire company, to be your only brand for so long was not a good idea when he's not going to be around forever or wherever he goes he brings his name with him. This is not Walt Disney here. It's too late to fix it though, Konami is done in video game industry after MGSV.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Soon to be announced: Capital and Business Alliance - Nintendo x Kojima Production. The hints are in the air, we just have to read them!

No, seriously, the more time passes, the more hints about Konami trying to detatch themselves from Kojima as much as possible are found. Something is going down definitely.

So Kojima is leaving Konami, I take it?

Also people here are overreacting. Maybe removing his name from the games was part of some deal they made. Calm down.

What does this mean concerning the on-going developement of mgs 5, now that the header "A Hideo Kojima Game" is taken off of the logo?
