Resident Evil: Revelations 2 |OT| Yeah, but it's only $25

This may seem a dumb question but how does difficulty affect the game? Damage, encounter number, ammo...

I am not a RE vet :)

All of the above. You'll also be swimming in crafting materials and herbs on casual. Otherwise the levels themselves remain the same.

this is the best resident i've played since re4

Yep, *easily* the best since RE4 for me too.

And I've put a time into it, going above and beyond Platinum. S Ranking every difficulty, even S Ranking Invisible and Countdown. Getting every single Record. I just fucking love this game.

That's awesome. I'll have to remember to ask you for tips for some of those modes, especially Invisible.

This is my first RE game. I started on the easiest difficulty to get used to it and recommend it. I'll probably re play on the hardest now, it's good enough to play twice and short enough to.

Heh, I'm not sure I could give great tips. I S Ranked all of Invisible and Countdown on my first try except for Ep 4, only got As on those on my first go. All of Survival and most of No Escape I S'd in one go too (except my first No Escape run which I used all the Bonus Weapons on since I kinda unlocked them all at once and wanted to play with them).

Like, basically for each Episode I'd play on Normal and try to find everything and spend a lot of time exploring. Then I'd do a casual run and grab anything I missed while S'ing it. Then I'd go and S Survival. Then I'd go do Countdown and Invisible. Then I did No Escape once Ep 4 came out and I beat everything else.

Countdown has the same layout as Normal and Invisible has the same layout as Survival.

So I just remember where every item and enemy is and hit whatever I feel is necessary and generally that's it. The thing is, I have a pretty awful memory for most things, but I kinda have amazing Spatial memory. For Invisible Enemy I just know where they are heh.

Like, for Ep 4 going off memory - Break lock shack, Gunpodwer + Handgun ammo, kill first enemy by container with shotgun (Campaign) or dodge past (Countdown/Invisible), go down ladder, jump up ledge, jump gap, down ledge, up ladder, Natalia platform, switch, up ladder, top of platform, hit far switch, knock ladder down, up ladder, hit far switch, hit sparkling spot while barry climbs up ladder, break first window jump in, enter gate, break box on left, up stairs, supply room right smoke powder, jump to tracks, jump to ledge, break crate for explosive bottle, grab bottle by elevator, elevator down, etc.

Finished Claire's part of episode 3 and got a little bit into Barry's last night. The callbacks to previous games are coming in full force now.

I take it that
switching to Moria at the end put me on the good ending path I keep hearing about? Was surprised when the game actually let me switch characters, wouldn't have thought of it if I wasn't constantly switching to Moria while playing earlier. The light/crowbar combo is unstoppable.

Nearly everything about this game is like a RE love letter to me. Just had an absolute blast playing the episodes every week (playing each chapter at 8pm; took about an hour for my first play throughs. It was really like watching a campy TV show.).

Only have a couple quibbles. First was it just seemed to me that certain things in the game feel like they are happening in slow motion (especially certain zombie attacks and durring reloading animations) or are just kind of sluggish in the animations. Its hard to describe. Like the walking speed is *slightly* too slow or something. My other complaints are just little design things (not a fan of Barry's block puzzle in episode 3, just took all the pacing the game had and slammed on the breaks for some brain dead easy puzzle padding).

My dumb prediction for RE7:
Natalia succeeds in resurrecting Albert and together try and complete global saturation while Moira and Jake have to stop them.

Yeah I don't think you have to do anything else except finish the game now, but you're on track for the good ending. It's funny though because I swear the game said "press tab to switch characters" right as soon as Neil pinned Claire.

You mean Sherry and Jake, who are both now happily married

It does every time if you have Tutorials turned on.

That prompt definitely appeared when I was playing. Had
already switched to Moria though - thought it was trying to make me go back to Claire haha.

The One True Pair is Claire and Piers, who will return in RE7 no worse for wear, just kind of blown up and covered in seaweed.

However, in a telenovela twist, Piers is only dating Claire so that her brother won't think he's gay.

Then, just when Chris thinks it's safe to not cover himself up in the military shower... Piers will sneak a peek.

I think I'm done playing as Jill.

I don't think I really can express how much I hate Jill's new voice. Face... fine whatever, I don't have to see it. But I can't believe they asked and paid a human being to record these... lines and grunts and whatnot when Siri or Google Voice could've delivered a more human like voice. She sounds like a fucking robot. Michelle Ruff is prob the worst voice actress ever and I can't believe someone at Capcom actually chose this woman out of all the others that auditioned for the role, or didn't ask Patricia Ja Lee to come back.

Just UGH!

I like her face, although I understand it's a controversial change among fans. But complaining about changes to her voice? That's a new one. Not downplaying your opinion -- just saying I'm surprised since the voice clips in Raid last all of a split-second.

I played about 15 mins of the campaign before getting hooked on Raid mode. What are the main differences between the characters? Is it just their special skill and what level they unlock things? I have been rolling with Barry so far.

I'm 100% ok with this as the "other side", the Claire to my Leon, of my RE7 plot outline above.

I've seen complaints on her voice just as much as her face. But when Jill is/was your main and level 100 those split-seconds your hear of her voice are just... unbearable now. Specially when a Revenant grabs her. OMG! It just makes me wanna close the application. So bad. SO BAD! And besides I like to use the commands with all characters, so it's just not the grunts and moans.

God, I can't unsee Toby. It's all about the bags under the eyes.
now you've gone too far

you and me, at the flagpole, after school

actually, scratch that

you and me, shirtless, fist-fighting on the rim of an erupting volcano

(much cooler that way)

So, are all the secret weapons 50,000 BP, or is the Bubble Gun like a nuke or something. If they're all that expensive BP-wise, I don't know if I'll ever manage to get all of them or not.

The chicago typewriter and bowgun are 10,000. I'm not sure about the rest, but the Katana is also 50K.

And yeah, that stuff is crazy expensive.

Pretty much from that point forward I had a permanent smile on my face.

Best home stretch in a RE game since forever.

And god, the music during the
mansion
area. So good.
I had a huge smile when I came across the first emblem key door.

And then I found a second one. And a third one. And a fourth one.

I had to take mental note of them all. And the smile kept growing and growing.

Where is the fourth emblem door? See, I was wondering about that, since the game didn't discard it automatically like it does the other keys, but I could only find three?

Going off memory here,
there is one in the lab, and three in the house
. One of them is a shortcut back to the beginning.

I found
the shortcut to the beginning, one that goes to security cards, and then one that goes into a room of lockers

I think I underestimated the usefulness of a sniper rifle in raid. I've been going handgun, Chicago typewriter and shotgun with Claire but after doing III - 03 and one shotting those asshole who throw stuff at you from afar I think I'm going to have to drop the shotgun for a while. Sniper Claire indeed.

Another one I remember is at the
end of the right wing (when facing the painting in the main hall)
, but I believe that one is necessary for progression so you must have found it.

SnIper Rifle has made most raid levels super easy for me. I put Fire Ammo and the extended burn on there also, those ugly dudes where you have to find their weak spot become stupid easy with it haha.

Now that I have all four weapon slots unlocked, my Claire in Raid uses the magnum, machine pistol, shotgun and rifle, with the katana replacing the knife. I used to love my pistol but find that a good magnum and machine pistol (and katana!) make it a bit unnecessary.

How does the Xbox 360 version look/run? Trying to decide between getting the Xbox One version or the Xbox One version. My Xbox 360 is hooked up to my HD CRT and I have a nice couch set up, and my Xbox One is hooked up to my smaller monitor. If it runs like ass I'll get it for Xbox One but if it's totally fine I'll get it for 360.

I'm mainly using Moira but I dropped handguns completetly. I have Sniper as the main weapon, Shotgun when people get close, and Magnum for annoying assholes.
