This appears to be a remaster of a planned but ultimately scrapped English version of TGM3. They're looking for suggestions for arcades in SoCal to have loketests at around E3 time.

There's some interesting subtext if you look at the account's and Mihara's other tweets regarding YouTube uploads of TGM play, but I don't feel qualified to editorialize about it.

I don't know what's more weird: the fact that Arika somehow has the license to release the game outside of Japan nowadays (is someone at Ubisoft a fan of the series? Or would the arcade version fall outside the scope of their license?), or that The Tetris Company would sign off on a game in 2015 using TGM's ruleset (which don't follow their standard guidelines in several subtle -- and not so subtle -- ways)?

The whole thing seems odd (what would they even release it on? It's rare to have a Japanese arcade game not published on something like Nesica or all.net, but none of those services are available outside of Asia), but with a couple of other things they've announced (like publishing guidelines for TGM videos and discussing crowdfunding options) it looks like they plan on doing something with the series.

That is so fucking weird, lol. Surely it's running on non-SD displays this time. Maybe that's the Omega part?

I'll buy any consumer-released version of TGM3, no matter how unfortunate the distribution.

After AGDQ some people asked about TGM and Maya Rogers said they know and we should watch out for news coming up. I heard there will be some news at E3 maybe.

VP at Arika and main dude behind TGM. He's gone on tirades against foreign players before and he blames the proliferation or endorsement of emulation and freeware clones for destroying the international market for TGM. It's a catch-22 in that people emulate because there's no official release, but he won't pursue an international release because people are emulating his game.

He seems to have softened a little recently; his last few comments have essentially said "I don't want to get involved in the western market because I don't understand it, and besides, where's the money gonna come from?"
