I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B.
I accidentally ordered three copies and have been loafting on returning the extras, maybe there are just a lot of people like me!
I feel like Sony didn't ship enough copies rather than the game having sold in big numbers. I still think we will get like a million sales announcement next week worldwide sold through

I think Sales are going to shocked the community who are saying it wont sell that well, because well look at Demon Souls and Dark Souls.
Im betting this game sells more than all its predecessors even though its exclusive.

Oh man really? My NPD guess for march is gonna be high then. Pretty sure PS4 sales are surging with BB.
Yeah I'm surprised at the amount of people here that low balled their predictions and still think the game is niche.
It's the year 2015. Dark Souls is not niche anymore, many people have PS4s, many of those people are thirsty as hell for a good exclusive, and finally they got one here.
It's not exactly rocket science to except this game to sell like hot cakes.

The game being sold out everywhere is probably pushing a lot of people to digital.
I can't think of the last time demand outstripped supply like this on a console game.

I am certain that they shipped quite a bit. They knew it would be pretty big, I believe. Especially with no other big releases competing with it.

Yep. You don't take out prime time ads during the walking dead and then only ship 300k copies to sell.

Just saying. Why in the world does Sony not update the TV commercial with quotes and scores from gaming websites? It could have attracted audience and watchers a lot easier with all the amazing review scores the game has.
Probably takes time. Hopefully they have an updated commercial in time for the season finale of The Walking Dead

I think that's coming since Sony has said that the post launch marketing would involve what the press is saying about it.

And also trusting in confident game design that is willing to take risks that may alienate some, in favor of a richer experience for those that stick with it.

Played a few hours of the game today and it's so hard. Was fucking furious playing this game but when success was achieved, boy was it fucking sweet! I ain't progressed far at all and the game will kick my arse but the combat really feels nice and to my liking, offensive and none of the boring shit with Dark Souls. I've already got more enjoyment out of this game compared to Order 1886 and Advanced Warfare, really hoping Sony have not under-shipped and it sells out of the date. I could see it breaking 2 million lifetime which wouldn't be bad at all but then again I've no clue what Sonys sales expectations. Whilst not business related Yoshida seems to be ecstatic with the games critical response, I would think he would definitely want another Miyazaki game for sure.

Game was sold out on Amazon Germany, so I went to a big retailer in the city at around noon and managed to grab one of the last 3 copies. Store clerk told me that demand was insane.

most streamed game on ps4 as far as i can tell. last time i checked there were more people streaming bb than cod, destiny, and battlefield combined.

Since quite a few people are chiming in about their anecdotal sales info, my friends list was built from destiny raiders. They are NOT playing this game. I'm the only one playing and loving it.
Must not have much crossover of audiences. Hope we see good sales to green light a sequel. I'm surprised at how much i love the game.
