Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PC/PS4/XB1) [Update: Big images in OP]

Those screenshots in the OP are probably post processed and bullshotted to hell but holy dear god that looks funking incredible. Day one.

This and Cyberpunk 2077 will make my generation so goddamn Neuromancer I won't be able to hold in my Positron 8800 Keyboard dialed into max modem capacities.

Well he's
Illuminati
so fuck him.

He did change his ways,
he wanted to prevent the Illuminati from using augs as a way to control people, so he caused this massive crisis to make people cautious of augmentations. Which worked.

It was supposed to fix climate change.

man...i been talking alot about Darrow lately..i think alot of it is I just find these characters interesting.. the "absent minded geniuses/scientists".

Darrow created human augmentation...created pangaea...was probably the most brillaint man in the world...yet he did not think of the wider implications of his creations..and how they could be used..he was ultimately naive

i hope he is in Mankind Divided

Sometimes the greatest geniuses don't see the grandest applications of their work.

Only skimmed through the OP, but OH GOD YES. I loved Human Revolution so so much. I just want more Deus Ex.

Don't know how I feel about playing as Adam again. I'll be cool with it as long as we get more of this.

HELL YES!!!!

And more Jensen. Loved him in Human Revolution and it will be nice to see him again... so E3 will have a CG trailer for Mankind Divided?? Loved the CG for Human Revolution so I'm hoping to see one for this E3 at least.

I don't think its hyperbole to say this should be in the running for greatest trailers from last gen

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Cinematic Trailer: https://youtu.be/Kq5KWLqUewc

And tomorrow hopefully we get something even close to as good.

I can't believe it. Adam freaking Jensen is BACK!!!

I just woke up to this news, and it's very exciting. A bit disappointed that they decided to retcon the endings to the previous game, it feels like such an obvious milking of the success of HR (
I bet there will be no option for Jensen to die at the end of this one
). I was also hoping for a new protagonist. Not that I dislike Jensen in any way, I love him but I think the Deus Ex world is so rich, they could've created a new interesting protagonist with his own story.

Also I hope it's not more action-oriented this time around. Hopefully the first screens are not indicative of that.

Finally. Looking forward to it.
why is such a cool character design in first person ?

oh well..it is what is.
If it's anything like Human Revolution, then it'll be a first-person/third-person hybrid (with the former as the default, and certain actions such as moving through cover in the latter).

Why can't it have great sp and great mp?

Why would you hope there's no good mp?
Because it's hard to see what MP would add to this game. At least ME3's MP allowed you to play other races and offered different powers than the SP, plus it was a co-op mode that made sense in the context of the universe. Playing the usual MP modes with augs and DX guns isn't nearly as interesting and would probably be better off being its own game so the studio could fully focus on making a great SP campaign.

Because even if it had good MP by your standards it will;

* Costs the dev/pub more money
* It will have dead online
* Takes away developer resources from main game (unless they outsource)
* Deus Ex 1 on PC is an example the fan base doesn't give a shit about online

Gotta admit the screens don't really look very impressive at all. Like a high res version of Human Revolution. Hopefully it looks better in motion. Also half those "screens" are clearly art / mock ups.

Human Revolution was good but I found it a bit lacking. Like a game that couldn't decide if it wanted to be stealth or full all out action. Still looking forward to this although it doesn't seem like it's doing that much different from the last.

What? It was BOTH, by design. By heritage. Why must the game only be one or the other?

Now you could argue it was a better stealth game than combat game, and you wouldn't be wrong. But they addressed that in the leaked article, and I have little doubt we'll be given way more interesting toys for both types of gameplay in DX:MD.

I'll agree that the screens are bullshotty, but... I don't think you remember what HR looked like if you think it's just a high res version of HR. It was a game that relied on its art far more than its technical prowess.

As for the second part... that's kind of the point of Deus Ex.

YESSS!!!! I've been waiting for this announcement; I've been dying for a new Deus Ex game, and all I'm seeing and hearing about this sounds amazing so far!

I'm surprised to see Jensen back, but I'm totally fine with his return. It'll be interesting to see how they address all the endings in HR as well since this takes place after it. I really hope they get Michael McCann back for the score as well; his work in HR was amazing, and it's one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.

Hopefully this releases this year :)

The screens are labeled as mock ups (look at the filename) so of course they are?

is most of Darrow's personality come from the fact that he can't celebrate in his creation like everyone else

or is it more that the dude has a huge god complex..

Probably a bit a both. He's old. He is no longer young and looking to shape the future. He already ushered it in. Now they young generation is deciding what to do with it. Before he could even roll it out properly or see the best possible vision through to it's end. It's already too late and augmentation is wreaking havoc upon humanity. All swept up into the existing corporate world and only raising the capitalist powers to ever greater heights. While the rest of humanity is left in the dust.

Hey guys, remember when they didn't put a mirror in Jensen's room because the engine didn't do proper reflections?

Good times.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Hmm, just saw the coverage trailer, and Megan is in there, in what looks like a different scenario than the initial attack on Sarif.

That could have some...interesting story connotations, especially if they do follow up at all on the very last scene.

A disturbing number of people in this thread don't understand what Deus Ex is; it's supposed to be first-person, it's supposed to be single-player, it's supposed to be an RPG/shooter hybrid, and it's supposed to allow for sneaking or fighting. If you're "disappointed" that it's going to be any of those things, you should probably stop posting in a Deus Ex thread.

And it's outright alarming that some people in here think that Human Revolution is the first game in the series.

You picked the single worst screenshot of Human Revolution i've ever seen. Here is a more comparable one:

Now sure, the new game looks better. But I don't think it looks like a generational leap.

is that why he calls himself Daedalus

watching his creation (human augmentation) get destroyed?

Glad it's getting a sequel. It's not a day one purchase for me though - I still need to see if they've changed up the mechanics and rpg bits because too much of it seemed dated and reminded me of the original.

Also please have a system that encourages use the augs and not one chocolate bar per use.

Also, this game is not suddenly going to become Xbox exclusive the next time we see it, is it, SE?

And this is why playing stealth is awesome. You see a lot of Jensen while you're sitting in cover!
