It's showing some legs (compared to the first week), especially when you see the WOW drops: debut --> -20% ---> -25%

Ouch Rodea! Especially the 3DS version, that's quite something...

I'd really like to know the digital numbers for this one. I really think the audience completely shifted to digital for this licence, and like Pocket Football Club in Europe, not many people see the point of just buying it retail for a code.

Looks decent for everything (funny how Wii U SKU of DQX is finally getting more pre-orders), except P&D SMB... but I'm not really worried about that one.

Well that's a bit optomistic. It's selling about 1.2k a month or 14.4k a year so it's more like Circa late 2018 early 2019 :p

I gave it 91 weeks. Some releases and a holiday bump should give it another 50k.

But it's such a long time frame with a tiny milestone so it doesn't matter anyway.

The whole Mario P&D thing was weird anyway. Just throwing Mario onto something to give it more appeal, especially when it's already so popular by itself and a guaranteed seller, I just don't get it.

Also, here's the Dengeki thing I mentioned earlier, on an outside link in the interest of not clogging up the place with more statistics.
Kancolle is out of control and I find the PS3/PS4 splits interesting so far.

It will be a nice internet fight.

the problem is that I don't understand yet what kind of games it is :

1- just a puzzle game with Mario characters instead of monsters, as the mobile version

2- a rpg game with a battle system like the puzzle, as the previous 3DS version

if it is the latter maybe it can sell well in the long run (but we have to make clear how "well" it would be); if it's like the former... P&D is a F2P, why you should pay more than 3,000yen just for Mario characters ?

Mario has appeal on 3DS, and this game is a 3DS exclusive. It might cater a completely different userbase than the original one, and also those who bought P&DZ; let's be honest: no one bought P&DZ because of the plot and the worldmap, but because it was P&D.

Wow, the 3DS version of Rodea didn't even make the top 50? Kadokawa sure did a bang up job handling this game.

not sure what more they could have done. the game didn't review poorly, they had yuji naka out in several promotional videos, they have basically been putting up content for the game every few weeks since november, and even got it in a nintendo direct. the japanese market just rejected it entirely.

that appeal means 300pt less than the original P&D ?

let's be honest, how do you know the japanese didn't bought P&D 3DS for the plot ? The usual conjecture ?

If GungHo decided to add a story and a rpg that's means they knew it was crazy to force people to pay for something they can get free on their mobile.
P&D 3DS was targeted as younger audience (there are furigana over kanji, something that usually happens for games aimed for children, such as Pokemon,Inazuma, YW, a lot of Nintendo games) which is very different from the one which plays the mobile version (teenager and adult)
and I played the demo, so I know what I'm talking about (the game seemed nice, just a little Pokemon like, but nice, FYI)

The appeal means it will sell well enough. P&D is losing ground and also it's not Christmas, so it won't replicate P&DZ numbers, at least in the short run; it might have more staying power, though, thanks to the Mario IP.

Of course GH had to add something to make P&D digestible for the handheld audience, but as far as I know, the plot is only a device to add contents and not a ground-breaking experience that would bring people to buy the game. Honestly, did you believe people mainly bought P&DZ for the plot? It's still a puzzle-game with some RPG elements, after all.

best selling game on VITA in Japan?

regarding Kan Colle, after discussing about that yesterday, today at work I realized that recently we got a lot of orders from Kan Colle figures compared to the past, I don't remember how many figures managed in the latest days, but undoubtedly much more than in the past, and it's already 7 months I'm working in that company

anyway, 400k it's impossible :D

Seems to me that the game has a dedicated audience, so it would make sense for them to preorder the game right when the preorders started and the final date was announced.

If the game continues to climb until August, maybe then it will indicate a huge debut.

Xenoblade on Wii was supply constrained, I don't think XbX will start as low.

That wasn't the case, at least not at launch. It kept selling for a long time because of good word of mouth.

Mario Kart 8 struggling to hold on to make that million mark! Smash Bros. might not have a chance in hell.

That is a good sense of how bad the situation is down there.

I guess MH4G and SSB were good enough to justify the investment.

And the simple fact that it is better. Anyone whose 3DS broke, or hadn't already bought one, or needed an extra for any reason has pretty much no reason not to go with the N3DS. The problem Xenoblade had, and the problem any other exclusive will have, hence why I suspect few have been announced, is that the N3DS doesn't seem to be producing mass upgrading among the existing user-base. And that means that any exclusive will exclude potential customers.

best selling game on VITA in Japan?

Also, it didn't take long for everyone to claim shortage for BB... and DD sales would be 25% of physical.
Thats common though. Every time that there are reports of shortages, you will see people commenting on it.

Where does the 25% number come from? I believe that 10% were reported by Yoshida, or am i mixing that up with another game?

big jump for DQX Wii !
is that the last retail game for the system ?

also you already know which color of Buster you gotta pick up....
red

What's up with the two separate dq entries? A bundle with the base game and the expansion alone?

Do you think a good portion of people bought the "Wii U version" of Rodea mostly to play the original Wii game? Clearly there was seemingly no demand for the 3DS version it seems like...

The difference between Rodea Wii U and no. 50 positon is less than 1k, 3DS version could potentially be in the same range. That's practically zero difference. Hard to say either of them had any sort of demand.

Re: PS4 That's a bigger drop than I expected. April will be rougher than I thought
