You can already get some pretty good Xbox deals in the UK, I think I will pick one up in the summer draught if I can get a £250 console or bundle. The best deal I have seen so far was the Ass Creed bundle at £269.

Searched and did nay find a thread.
Price cut me if old.

Great move. This will definitely get some number going for Microsoft.

Your move Sony. Let's get that price down!

i actually think i seen it at that price on amazon recently. but damn that's good. just not worth buying for me i think. the problem i have is they don't have any interesting exclusives. i'll wait for the slim revision/price drop and hopefully by then there will more exclusives.

There's a £250 console at Asda right now with x men and halo by the way. Glad the uk finally got our price cut, everywhere was selling it for sub 300 anyways or near enough with unofficial free games

Great news. I know it's something they wouldn't be doing unless they felt they had to, but I'm not really bothered as to the reasons. The more peeps that get both consoles, the better. As the less powerful console compared to PS4, the lower price point makes perfect sense. The difference in power is negligible for many, but the price similarities may well be too much for some.

MS absolutely killed it over Xmas with their promotions, so there's clearly a "sweet-spot" for the XBone. It just has to be sufficiently below the PS4 to have it's own "space" in the price range.

It's already had tons of bundles at £299 or below over the last few months, with tesco having the MCC and xmen bundle for £249 and game had one at £299 with battlefield and MCC. It hasn't been the true RRP of £350 or even close to it for a long time.

This decision to price drop to £299 is more of an acceptance of the reality of the situation than an introduction of a new price point to the market.

Meh, it remains to be seen if this means a real price drop to retailers at wholesale. If it does then good, but otherwise retailers have already cut their margins way below this.

Price in central Europe is already officially lower (400€, while the new UK price is equivalent to 415€), and it's quite easy to find one at 350€ already.

GAME have the console, hardline, master chief coaster and Ori for £299. Really surprised retailers have the flexibility to do these sorts of bundles.

Again... only in the UK. How about you drop that price in the rest of Europe MS?
I think they keep missing off Europe when they go down their list of countries the XO needs to be reduced in.

PS4 is still officially £349.99 but you can get it without trouble nearer the £320 mark. Think the cheapest XO has gone down to is about £240.

Pretty much this. More exclusives and please reduce the size of the thing. Currently I wouldn't even get it at 199. D4 is kinda the only exclusive game I am interested in.

This. I'd seen it for sale at less than £300 already, so not surprised.

Good for the consumers.
But it clearly show how much ms is suffering this gen, unthinkable: the reveal was so bad, so awkward, so stupid.

So only the bare bones console is £299.

It's shows how poorly it's selling if they still have Sunset Overdrive bundles.

I feel like it's been this price for some time, but good on them for making it official I guess.

Might have been an idea to do it during the Easter break rather than just after though...

It's been available for closer to £250 from major retailers for months.

Some of the highlights for discounts have been £219 preowned from Tesco, £235 from Simply Games, via Rakuten. £223.83 from Amazon Germany (including shipping to the UK), £260 with Forza 5 from GAME.

This isn't even getting in line with existing discounts. Hard to imagine many people have been holding out for a better price, but not noticed the many discounts to sub £300 prices that have already been available.

Edit: Even buying direct from Microsoft, the White Xbox One + Sunset Overdrive bundle has been available for £279 for ages.

Is there really a £250 deal at ASDA?! How did I miss it.
Yea, it's been going on for about a week and a half now. Not sure when it ends but it was still going on Saturday when I was at my local ASDA, so should hopefully still be going on now.

and 329 you're forgetting.
Hmm, was it ever 350? I thought a £50 price cut seemed low for kinects removal when posting that, maybe I was confusing £350 with the £329 price cut
