:D ok I had decided to move on, I felt the mistake was mine for being so trusting of GAF, I felt that justice would not bring back those apples, but seeing your pic has made my day. Queen I think you need your own guild rank. Something that says "if you cross this person they will find you, and they will kick you" :)

Wow definitely a shady motherfucker

GAF mods should ban a member who is confirmed to screw others

A ban isn't going to happen as stated by ModBot, since this kind of thing falls outside the forum "jurisdiction". I think a special username tag is called for though.

I started playing ESO again, so I guess I'll join the EU guild.

You're more than welcome :) what's your in game username? One of the officers or the avenger will add you when they're on :)

If you see something in the bank you want just message a list to a bank officer and we'll send it to you. Sorry it's a bit empty at the moment but we're working on it ;)

Armour and weapon sets are available on request :) any style (dwemer is rare unless you have the frame) usually just make it using guild bank supplies but until we're fully back up and running you can send the mats through.

Working on having all nirn traits. Currently half way through. If you have the nirn can send you the items to research. Same goes for all other traits for research.

I just upgraded my PC version to a console version. Really looking forward to this, because I think the game was pretty good but now with a controller on the big tv will be even better.

It'll be really shitty if they don't give a code to everyone who has taken them up on the console upgrade offer, considering we've already bought the game on their website.

I don't believe they're planning to do that, sorry.

There's a two step beta - closed beta for 2013 sign ups, and open beta later.

Love the colours in this pic!

Are we going to have an EU PS4 guild etc??

If you want to make a PS4 guild let me know and I'll update the OP with details.

I play this on the TV with a controller emulator. It's amazing. I think console players will love it

I don't expect them too, but it's still shitty if they don't. There is no reason for them not to give beta access to people who have already purchased. If you've already pre-purchased the console version, then you're clearly intending on playing the game and are excited enough about it to buy it already. Therefore, more likely to put many hours into the beta and provide them with the feedback they want.

I'd already pre purchased it for PC and they didn't let me in the beta :( missed out on a monkey pet because of that

Queen your pics make me want to go back and pay more attention to these areas. You get the lighting just right.

Got a reply from Zeni about guild bank access. As expected there is not much they can do. At least this is a good heads up for when the console players get their GAF guilds going. I always like Zeni's support group messages. They're so friendly :) and love the way they reply in a Tamriel tone :)

Greetings,

The dwellers of Tamriel thank you for taking time from your adventures to report this offense. Maintaining the integrity of the land is a priority. We will investigate this matter and take appropriate action.

To protect individual privacy, we do not disclose the outcome of our investigation.

Guild Banks are a wonderful way to share items with other guild members, but they also require vigilance.
In order to deposit and withdraw items from the guild bank, accounts must be given permission via the Ranks tab in the Guild window.
As it is up to the guild to determine who has access to the guild bank, it is up to the guild to police any deposits or withdrawals from its bank. The History tab of the guild window can be used to review who has added and removed items from the bank.
We are not able to restore items taken by members of the guild that were taken due to rank and/or permissions.
Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Warm Regards,
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Team

Yeah, it sucks. They should be rewarding their loyal customers with access, not someone who signed up for this thing months ago that may not even bother downloading it.

Zenimax Online Studios are struggling financially (like, a lot). The original beta had 5 million signups (as per ZOS). They need those people who didn't buy the game to consider buying the game. If customers have already paid for the game, they've got the money.

I know this sucks from a consumer point of view, but just wanted to give some logic to it.

Great point.

You're getting me worried about Zeni. Is there a chance they could get bought out? would hate to see a closed for business situation :(

Ultimately as a Big Corp(tm) they will be fine. I know people who worked there, they all got laid off - officially ZOS said they didn't lay off developers in their press release, 'just' customer service etc - but in reality they laid off developers, graphics people etc etc. You can watch the numbers drop yourself by watching their LinkedIn page: https://uk.linkedin.com/company/zenimax-online-studios

From a gamer point of view, ZOS and the game will survive. How? If the console release doesn't sell, they could go free to play and sell more in crown store. Star Wars Online proved this is profitable. However, ZOS don't want to do this because ultimately they had a huge cash injection by venture capital funds back in 2007 with the goal of becoming the next Blizzard, the next premium MMO company. They don't want to be a free to play developer really - these people have corporate overlords who own Elder Scrolls and Fallout, two of gamings biggest multi-billion dollar franchises.

Worth noting Skyrim sold ~30m copies on console -- it was absolutely HUGE -- so you can bet where all development focus is right now. And rightly so.

Yea I'd really hate this game to go F2P, just a personal preference but I really don't enjoy F2P models.

Makes me wonder why they're struggling so badly financially. Wonder how badly ESO's poor launch has hurt them. I'd like to say this game is going to be amazing on PS4/XB1. Hope that's enough to keep them afloat and the developers funded to keep creating content.

Probably difficulties getting a decent return of investment after those alleged 200 million dollars were brought up. The MMO market has changed so much since 2007 when everyone were still trying to do things the Blizzard way but throw more money at it and hope for greater success that way.

The game's critical reception would probably have been a lot better had they just given the thing another year in development to implement a lot of the good stuff that appeared in content pathces, and I think that would probably have helped give it more word of mouth success. But after funneling so much time and money into the project already, Bethesda were probably more interested in just getting it over with and make do with the situation.

What's funny though is how it appears to have been more successful than Wildstar which had a lot less going against it.

Here's the thing - Wildstar cost substantially less to develop. The numbers didn't need to be as big to be as successful. One of their employees pointed that out in public.

With ESO, Zenimax developed since 2007, they set up an entirely new company, recruited ~1000 people (plus contractors for support across europe etc - there was literally an entire call centre in UK at launch). The game has those CGI trailers, which are ~30 minutes long. Those shot in New Zealand and cost a fortune, I tracked down somebody involved.

In the UK they ran those trailers at the cinema and on TV, which isn't cheap. They have known actors doing a ton of voice work across the game. I also heard they're planning big press coverage in UK for console launch (TV trailers etc again), not sure about US. Those things cost millions upon millions of pounds.

Ultimately I think regardless of what happens, I applaud ZOS for going balls to the wall with the game. I doubt there will be another MMO attempted like this for a long, long time.

Anyone planning on putting together a NA GAF Guild on XB1? If not I may form one on the Daggerfall side.

You should so do rival faction GAF guilds that would be awesome for PvP nights if you could get enough people. It's great fun having planned battles

I will be copying my character to XB1, on Daggerfall side (on EU megaserver). So if anybody wants a GAF guild on EU megaserver, I'll make it (or join it).

In other news, Zenimax have started selling all motifs for real world money as of today in US and tomorrow in EU. They're also adding XP potions "soon", along with working on paid race change and 'barber shop'.

I hope the barber shop is some kind of social, player-driven feature as they touted originally and not just another crown store feature.

So these "crowns" what can you buy with them? Hoping the store isnt pay 2 win

At the minute it's just time saving, basically. Things that cost gold in game but you can buy with crowns. There's also some pets and mounts - these don't impact gameplay, just looks. I do know they're planning to add gated content to the Crown Store, though - all new content (eg Dark Brotherhood etc) will need payment.

That said, Zenimax have clearly laid out a store which would allow an easy transition to free to play. There's even a free to play weekend this weekend, where former beta players can buy items.

For comparison the Imperial Motif cost me 100K in gold about 4 months ago. Goes for about 80K now (Well it did, it might all change now).

Took me months to find all those motifs, felt awesome to achieve it. Doesn't feel so much of achievement now. Will still hunt for future ones rather than buy them, I like the hunt. Though I've noticed the dwemer chapters rarely drop any more.

I was expecting more costumes first to be honest. I thought the RP community would be the best target market for purchases. Plus I enjoy costumes :D

hep, I guess they're looking at a certain gold/item selling MMO website I won't name (which plagued the game with spam at launch) and seeing what's popular. Motif's were selling for real money on that site, so I figure it's a nice market for them.

Yea I guess they can't be blamed for using sites like that to evaluate best places to put sales in. I do think having ways to buy stuff legally is a great way to combat farmers and bots. I'm glad they've marked them quite expensively still.

Edit:

wow that's actually a great picture. £5 for nirn :/ I really hope they never monetise nirn, it's taking me so long to farm that stuff I'd be a bit bitter about it being suddenly attainable by anyone with a bit of money spare :p

Editx2:

£50 for one chapter of a dwemer motif!!!!!! really???

Do you not just get an imperial? I imagine you'd still need to level an alt. Actually could you just transfer gear to a low level imperial, convert it, then transfer it back as gear is account bound?

Come launch I will be forming a GAF guild on the Daggerfall side on XB1 NA server. Hopefully we can get a big enough group going for it.

edit: I'll be copying my two VR5's over who can pretty much craft any light, heavy, woodworking and food/drinks except the 9 tier gear. So I can help out new players with gear when requested, etc.

Since I was in the beta, I got a free weekend invite and after downloading it (Jesus that download took forever, like 4 hours or something crazy) I played for a few hours and actually kind of liked it. It has improved significantly since I played it in beta. It just feels and looks significantly better from what I remember of it. I think I will give this a shot on ps4 since I think this game will work really well with a controller and this feels like a good game to come home to and do a couple of quests after a long day at work just to relax.

I got it too. Can't wait to try it. I'm just waiting for the Beta to see if the game is really worth pre-ordering.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Started playing the free weekend a little bit tonight. After playing Final Fantasy 14 for the last 5 months and coming back to this I'm instantly seeing the things I like in this game that are completely missing from FF14. Public, overworld dungeons, looting enemies and finding rare loot... This beats the heck out of matchmaking all content from a menu and re-running dungeons endlessly waiting for a specific boss to drop a specific item you're looking for.

I haven't spent any skill points cause I'm not sure what role I want to play. I was a weird hybrid heavy armor healer in the beta and healing in this game was pretty easy and kind of fun, but I've been tanking in Final Fantasy and I really like that, plus tanks are typically more uncommon in MMOs. Is shield mandatory for tanking? I like using 2 handed weapons.

I asked a few months ago but has there been any mention of native gamepad support coming to PC?
