kirby and smokin' the reefer

I forgot this game existed lol

whoops
People get their WiiU before Splatoon launches. Because then, it will be impossible to get one.

Besides Mario Party 10 not having online play, which is an idiotic decision, the minigames are some of the best in the franchise history. Such a fun game and happy with sales so far :)

I just don't understand the Mario Party sales. I never have. Grab four people and you can have fun with anybgame, why limit yourself to shitty minigames?

I doubt it will really matter. Sony will win in the worldwide scene and as long as they remain competitive during the holidays, the US loses of a month or so are hardly worth quibbling over.

That said, a $299 PS4 would probably not lose at all, regardless of Halo.

True. It'd be quite interesting if PS4 managed to be number one for the whole year though, Sony could do it... by making the right moves, but profitability is their main goal atm it appears (and rightfully so).

Wasn't 3DS number 1 last month?

3 old games vs a new game which happen to be one of the biggest games of year? Halo 5 will win easily.

All games are new to someone buying a console. Also bloodborne is already one of the biggest games of the year. I suspect it will win many game of the year awards.

Had MP10 been the top-selling title, Nintendo would have mentioned it in their press release.

Well, Hardline will probably be number 1. It's Bloodborne I'm more interested in, and I would expect the gap between it and MP10 would be greater than 10k, which means crow city.

Two things that came to mind.

1) Is a COD marketing deal really this hot? I mean, you have to live under a rock not to know that COD is on all consoles anyway. Best marketing deal so far was Deastiny because it was fresh and could fool people to believe it's exclusive. Battlefront could work better for that...

2) It would be too funny if Xbox users could play Battlefront first because of EA platform on Xbox and they are not allowed to use this for marketing because of the marketing deal with sony...
1) It's not about making people believe its exclusive to one platform, its about associating that brand with a specific platform. Destiny is best on PS4, Call Of Duty is best on Xbox....etc.
2. I think it would be in EAs best interest to not take any sides with this game.

What's the bet, exactly? I've been expecting BB to be around 300k for launch and not much more. MP10 is well above my expectations.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Last month, Sony didn't include handhelds in their PR. I suppose that's why "again".

But still, given what 3DS seemingly did, of course it's first overall.

Software
Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, 360, PS3, PC)
Bloodborne (PS4)
Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)
Mario Party 10 (Wii U) (sold 290,000 copies physical and digital, according to Nintendo)
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
MLB 15: The Show (PS4, PS3)
Minecraft (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
NBA 2K15 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (PS4, Xbox One)
Final Fantasy: Type 0 HD (PS4, Xbox One)

Halo 5 has the "disadvantage" of releasing on October 27th, though, so it just counts for a couple of days towards the October NPD. And I'm not quite sure just how much pull Halo has in 2015 anymore, especially now that it doesn't have the benefit of being on the best-selling system this gen.

Another price-cut/bundle bonanza like last year would make it a lock, I think, since Uncharted got delayed. Assuming Sony doesn't do their own price cut...

WOW at Mario Party 10. I mean...wow. I had no idea the franchise sold like that.

Greenberg already started the "first on xbox" angle with battlefront

Software sales were down slightly from March 2014, and that’s because Battlefield: Hardline and Bloodborne couldn’t quite match last year’s release of Titanfall and Infamous: Second Son.

Battlefield: Hardline at No. 1 should keep publisher Electronic Arts smiling. The Visceral-developed shooter is the first in the series from a developer other than DICE, and it looks like gamers didn’t hold Battlefield 4’s well-documented problems and glitches against it. Interestingly, the shooter sold better on Xbox One (which you can tell by the order of the platforms in parenthesis) despite PlayStation 4’s console-sales advantage.

Bloodborne also had a strong month and was able to reach the No. 2 spot despite its PS4 exclusivity. It also only had about a week and a half of sales during NPD’s tracking period, which ended April 4. Sony has said, separate of this report, that it has sold more than 1 million copies of Bloodborne. Of those, more than 155,000 were digital.

Outside of the top two, other new games that made the best-selling chart include Nintendo’s Mario Party 10, MLB 15: The Show, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and Final Fantasy: Type 0 HD. Of course, all of these are either HD upgrades or uninspired sequels, but you can see why their publishers keep turning them out if they keep selling.

Beyond that, Grand Theft Auto V continues to perform well even before its PC release, and Minecraft is still unstoppable. And for the first month ever, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sold better on the PS4 than the Xbox One.

SONY:

“We are truly honored PlayStation 4 is the top-selling console and No. 1 in software sales again according to NPD sales data for March 2015,” a spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment told GamesBeat in a statement. “PS4 remains the cumulative sales leader both globally and in the United States and we want to thank gamers worldwide for their ongoing support.”

And.....
Microsoft didn’t provide specific numbers, but it did say that it’s system is still selling well.
lol.....
