Finally people feel the same pain with what i feel here when Hudson IP go to hell under Konami.T_T

Where is my BOMBERMAN!!!!

But but... they said the developing of Silent Hills will continue with or without KoJima :( !?

Maybe Toro was removed out of the project and he thought that meant the game is being cancelled when it's not......

No.... I can't believe this, I won't believe this.

I'll wait for for official conformation from Konami :(

That's like asking to be officially fucked; it's over.

I don't understand everyone hating Konami now, they did give us masterpieces like Castlevania 1,3,4, Symphony of the Night, Suikoden 2, Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders 2, Contra 3 and Turtles 4.

Even if they are making kinda bad decisions now, they should always be remembered in a goo way, because they gave the gaming world a lot of memorable games.

One can always wait for used copies to show up at gamestop or other game stores before purchasing it to "support/celebrate Kojima's effort but not give Konami any money"

Not in a way that would give any money to Konami I won't. I'll play it sure but won't buy it new, they do not deserve my money for this level of bullshit.

Like I said, people will buy it one way or another. Buying used seems like a good way to stick it to Konami, but there WILL be people (less informed by the Kojima drama) who will buy it day one regardless.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I'll buy The Phantom Pain and then I'm done with Konami.

As it should be. Even a Platinum Developed Metal Gear Raiden 2, won't be the same without Kojima oversight.

Most of these games, including Castlevania are old as shit, Konami was good, in the past. MGS and Zone of The Enders are Kojima's babies.
The moder Konami has only MGSV, and that will be the last with Kojima in the development.

Maybe Kojima and Del Toro will go off and make their own new IP horror game, right guys!?

RIGHT!?

come on...please...

damnit

I was having similar thoughts. No-one would stop KojiPro from creating a horror game, either a new IP or collaborating with some other franchise. Doesn't need to be Silent Hill.

What we should worry about isn't that these IP's are all dead, it's that Konami will be keeping them alive, with their current decision makers calling the shots. Think about that for a minute.

I blame Kojima too.

He revealed it too early.

This is the Last Guardian and FFVersus all over again.

Devs, stop revealing stuff when they're nothing but sketches and concepts in your offices!

I think Konami investors are screaming to kill console gaming division already (I've only heard rumors though). Konami's higher ups have been protecting that division obviously.. until recently.

There's a saying in sport: "You're only as good as your last game."

Look at how the tide has turned against Valve this week. It leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouths that can only be washed out by a better announcement.

It was a partnership with Sony, wasn't it? So I'd blame them too... for such an early show, it seems to me a PS4 promotion attempt, specially it was shown during E3 irc.

This became obvious the second Kojima left, that is a giant domino and del Toro likely wanted nothing to do with it once he was gone. Also dont forget Kojima is taking a lot of staff with him as well, so we likely don't even want Solent Hilss at this point.

I'm absolutely astounded.

In just a few short years, Konami has whittled away practically ALL their good will and destroyed all their great IPs.

They abandoned Zone of the Enders, they drove Castlevania into the dirt, they have amnesia about Suikoden entirely, Contra's been dead for decades, Gradius is lost in time, Vandal Hearts is just a footnote, they DESTROYED ALL OF HUDSON SOFT, and now they've pretty much killed off both Metal Gear AND Silent Hill in one fell swoop.

The ONLY console games they released in the past three years include Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, P.T., yearly Pro Evolution Soccer, and Metal Gear Rising. Of those, only Pro Evolution Soccer didn't have Hideo Kojima involved in some capacity.

Just... ugh.

I actively hope the whole company pulls a Midway and implodes, letting a better publisher step in and rescue the talented people within it being squandered.

As someone who thinks video games are art, and that if it was a museum that Silent Hill 2 would be its Mona Lisa, I have nothing but bitterness and disgust for Konami right now.

Its more than that it was always more!, now we will never know

IIRC P.T itself had no bearing on the final product.

It was clearly in super-duper-not reading to reveal state.

Yeah that too...

It was definitely a Sony stunt too...

or more Yakuza localizing moneys

I'm..okay with this.

SH is a worthy sacrifice for more Yakuza.

Primal and Ghosthunter better than Silent Hill? Miles pls.

Back to the topic Silent Hill must be truly cursed. :(

Hey now, I feel like I'm the only person who liked those games and thinks there's a helluva lot of untapped potential.

Ghosthunter with a decent developer could be a legit horror game. Primal with FROM at the helm could be something special indeed.
