Thanks @Abdiel

I guess the supply issue was more an Amazon thing than Sony thing like Amazon did messed with the order to Sony or how they choose to sell the bundles.

Maybe they tried to replace the standard SKU with TLOU SKU but it didn't worked like they wanted.

I don't know.

Since you're here, I may as well ask you directly. Has there been any indication of post-holiday shipments of the AC bundle? I remember someone at RetailGAF saying that SKU was unavailable for re-order. Did that ever change?

Also, I think it was you who mentioned having thousands of AC bundles in the DCs on top of the stores already being stuffed with stock. So, four months on, how much of that leftover stock have you actually moved? (Ignoring the addition of the MCC bundle, if possible. Actually, how do the MCC stocks compare to the AC stocks?)

Yes, i'm also interested in this. How AC:U and MCC shaping up? I mean, AC:U bundle still selling better than MCC?

Anyway, it's interesting to see Witcher 3 ( PS4 version ) on Amazon ( hourly chart ) so high.

Never. Artisan is an enigma. He drove people nuts with a mixture of ignorance, apologies and sudden moments of clear vision. Never sure if he just played innocent or is really clueless on some stuff. plus the avatar pic is too well-fitting that he even got attacked about that as proof to be a mega-troll. but it seems he learns and I have not seen a gaffer that became so well-known (and feared) in such a short time.
My theory is Artisan in a new kind of artificial intelligence that lears with every posting. soon he will start making gifs...

Malitik Sabu is nothing like that.

Artisan? Feared? Nope.

The Artisan was never good with data so you may be on to something....but seriously though at least Artisan apologized for his idiocy.

I wouldn't know, I ended up setting Artisan on ignore after he made several ridiculous comments in a row. =/

I love Artisan.

A pip in the ME mega thread.

For this past month I actually expect Ps4 to outsell One by a higher margin than we've seen in months. Around 150k units. I think Easter was very good to the PS4. My reasoning is anecdotal, but my local stores haven't been able to keep them stocked for more than a few hours. The Last of Us bundle seems to have been a success in Kansas.

Yes, but Sony didn't! Hey-oooo!

I'll reiterate since we don't have a new prediction thread yet:

Through this entire month, in the districts I've checked (always a wide range to try and compensate for varying customer bases) the ps4 consistently outsold the xb1 quite handily. This is just best buy, but we didn't see the same kind of stock issues that seemed to plague Amazon.

I was kind of surprised, the promotion we had with the email coupon for an extra $50 off any xb1 really didn't get a lot of traction in our local stores.

MKX sold very well indeed though.
And for people speculating about Splatoon from the other thread... Preorders aren't the whole story for a game's success or failure, but they're not looking great at this point.
Thanks, really appreciate your insight. This seems to be in line with what I said earlier. I expect the PS4 to continue winning NPD until September at least.

No problem guys. I wonder what Cornbread has seen in Walmart, too. Do we have any other Gamestop leakers since Shogun has was banned (I hope not permanently)?

We had a ton of the AC Bundles, and they've gradually sold out, and been replenished from our DC's... I was under the impression we were supposed to do a Send Back on old inventory, including some of those, but then that shifted and instead we've gotten replenishment on those, and once again cleared more space in the DCs, completely splitting the inventory on the MCC bundles and AC bundles at times.

I really don't know what the long term trend is, but there's still a lot of questions about if MCC got fixed, still has problems, etc. And some people have returned them due to issues with the MCC still being screwed up, sometimes as a direct exchange for the ACU bundle (Which is weird, but the standing policy regarding the MCC when our store started accepting returns hasn't changed, really) <---- This is something I observed directly in our store, and is much harder to track on the district inventory system.

I haven't seen us getting any more huge shipments of the AC bundle directly to our DCs though. It's possible, since I don't usually write the numbers down of the exact inventory in a DC, that I've missed it if a DC got a replenishment somewhere along the line, but it's been interesting to see our war against stock levels.

PS4 just continues to truck away; our preorder cap for the Batman bundles disappeared so friggin' fast though. Was almost comical. If the system really does get a price drop like so many are speculating, it would really be a hammer drop.

I believe someone asked about Bloodborne legs- As to that, it's continued to sell, and didn't completely die off, though how that will trend on the larger scale, I have no idea. It's not my sort of game so I have no investment in more like it, but the reception has been so positive that I certainly want you all to keep getting more of what you like.

Just to be clear, you're talking about the stores here? They're being replenished by the DCs, and are getting a fairly even mix of AC and MCC?

I haven't seen us getting any more huge shipments of the AC bundle directly to our DCs though. It's possible, since I don't usually write the numbers down of the exact inventory in a DC, that I've missed it if a DC got a replenishment somewhere along the line, but it's been interesting to see our war against stock levels.
So as far as you know, the DCs haven't gotten any AC bundles since last year? The only shipments coming in to the system have been the MCC bundles in March? How much AC is in the DCs now compared to New Year's? And how much MCC compared to AC?

PS4 just continues to truck away; our preorder cap for the Batman bundles disappeared so friggin' fast though. Was almost comical. If the system really does get a price drop like so many are speculating, it would really be a hammer drop.
How many PS4s are typically in the DC at any given time? I assume those are moving through the system at a regular pace?

As always, thanks. <3

Hopefully we will start to see some other retail insider insight once the April prediction thread is up and running but as always your posts are much appreciated.

The "war on stock levels" makes sense given what we've seen with the recent influx of retailer promotions on XB1. If you truly didn't receive any additional ACU SKUs post holiday the back stick must have been truly staggering considering it's still being sold with no sign of running dry.

PS4 just continues to truck away; our preorder cap for the Batman bundles disappeared so friggin' fast though. Was almost comical. If the system really does get a price drop like so many are speculating, it would really be a hammer drop.

The preorder sales for the Batman Bundle have been truly impressive. I'm wondering just how limited they plan to actually make it. Will they be as readily available as the white Destiny SKUs or a truly limited edition SKU. How did the preorder allocation compare to that of the whit destiny bundle? Was it about the same or significantly less?

At this point I don't think it's a question of if a price drop is happening but when and by how much. The timing of Gamescom or PSX seems most ideal for a price drop announcement (more so than E3 where they will likely announce more limited bundles anyway) and, personally, I think historical precedent is a strong argument for seeing a $100 drop given the company's tendency to adhere to that in each previous generation. It is going to be fascinating watching it all play out and seeing how the market reacts.

If I'm reading the sales info from you and TheShogun for Bloodborne correctly, the legs combined with a relatively calm release schedule for April outside of MKX means we will likely see Bloodborne remain in the charts. It's sure to drop heavily though.

Didn't read all of that other guys posts that you all jumped on but why are you guys jumping on him for that MKX prediction?

I'll make a bet with every single one of you MKX is the biggest launch in franchise history.

:O

Ozymandias has fallen. This thread stands saying; "Look on my works ye Mighty, and despair"

How fleeting is the fire that burns brightest.

They were warned multiple times after all. I was honestly dreading having to wade through whatever they were going to post in the next NPD thread so I'm relieved.

But back OT:
Looks like the prediction thread is up for those otherwise unawares let's continue the conversation there

I wonder what the levels of bundles Sony are creating for batman are compared to Destiny. Perhaps they don't want to overstock, but I guess they have time to create a bit more inventory considering we are still a little way away from the game being released.

Should be a quiet few weeks until towards Witcher 3 is released... Wonder how Project Cars is doing on pre-orders after all the delays. Guessing Wolfenstein the New Blood will do generally better on digital than on disk.

I wish I could afford a Batman PS4, it looks lovely, but would be a waste of cash as I already have a White PS4 :/

One of the last posts for the page...I apologize for this being as late as it is but it's a good one. Okay historical software report:

March '15 compared to March '09, March '04, March '99, and March '94...
SNTi6nD.png

*Click to make bigger*

MARCH 2015 - WiiU
Mario Party 9 has an impressive debut this month at 290,000 or so, let's compare previous-gen Marches...

MARCH 2009 - Wii
This is the month of Resident Evil 5's release (at #1 and #4) on the HD consoles and Pokemon Platinum (#2) on DS. Oh and Halo Wars.
Surprisingly there are no major releases for the typically heavy, big-name Nintendo month of March...but there's really no need is there? with dat momentum.
Wii Fit (at #5) sells another half a million (541,000), one of its slower months :p the megahit from last Spring now sits in 6.5m American homes (and retirement centers), after just under a year on the market! The next Wii titles Wii Play (#8) and Mario Kart Wii (#9) at over a quarter million each continue into unknown 10 million+ territory while Mario Kart speeds pass the 5.7m mark].

Wii sells another incredible 600,000 this month, this may be the final month of shortages. We will see sales drop to a more "normal" pace after this month. Supply is able to reach the insane demand three years after launch.

MARCH 2004 - GC
GameCube is coming off of the price drop to $99 last fall which gave the system a powerful boost over the second place rival XBOX. XB outsold it by about a mere 13,000 this month though. GC LTD sits at 7.2m to XB 8.0m (and PS2 23m).

Pokémon Coliseum was the big March release (at #2) with 343,000 sold, just under Ninja Gaiden (#1) which is the first XB release to make #1. If GAF memory serves, the NPD report this month mentioned sales for Coliseum were a disappointment. This could be because its predecessor, Stadium, moved a million in March alone just four years earlier.
The Metal Gear Solid next-gen "remaster" Twin Snakes debuted (#7) with 122,000. Is this a disappointment? ...Given how popular the series had become (just the the two installments up to this point) and given the level of acclaim the first had received is this to be expected?
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! the big Christmas hit at #19 this month passed the 1.5m mark by the end of March.
Harvest Moon: another world (#20) debuted nicely with 68,000. The previous two Harvest Moons debuted poorly and largely unnoticed. The original HM on SNES sold no greater than 20,000 total while its N64 sequel was able to sell 10x as much.

Square's long anticipated return to Nintendo last month with Crystal Chronicles, the #1 seller in February (selling a quarter million), fell to #25 in March to surpass 305,000 LTD. These are great numbers IMO.
The January release of Sonic Heroes has pushed some good numbers for a Sonic spinoff on the system, totaling at over 330,000. Sega continues to do well on GC, Sonic Adventure 2 (battle) broke a million. It was a good choice to put Sonic on Nintendo continuing the popularity of the series long after its peak post-16 bit.

MARCH '99 - N64
Whoa! Mario Party [1]! After debuting #1 last month with 213,000, this month (at #2) another 245,000 sell for this new multiplayer party genre. Zelda 64 remains STRONG at #15 with close to 120,000 for the month topping 2.6m. GoldenEye sees no end, just under Zelda with 110,000 and 3.9m LTD. On down the chart, the other X'mas megahit, Rogue Squadron (#15), sells 80,000 to become a million seller this month.
January's Castlevania 64 sits under 180,000 total. The much press-curious, Beetle Adventure Racing debuts under 40,000 (#46), we'll see how it fairs next month...

The N64 HW itself sells about half of PSX. LTDs for the two look like 11m and 16m respectively.

MARCH '94 - SNES
My favorite era ;) March '94 was EXPLOSIVE, Jam-packed explosive. NBA Jam broke records with 1 million sold this month alone between the GEN and SNES (670k GEN to 410k SNES).
This is currently Genesis domination season ignited by the release of the Genesis 2 and Mortal Kombat last fall. The GEN has outsold the SNES since the release of the GEN2 last August to this month. My data estimated 3.6m sold during these critical months, the best months the GEN will see. SNES sold 2.8m during the same time frame, the weakest performance over the powerful fall-christmas-spring period for the system and a disappointment for NCL and no doubt NoA.
However the hype for Sega may be beginning to slow as new SNES pack-ins are planned (five actually!) over the next few months in addition to some games we want! Next month is Metroid 3...
A first sign of a Nintendo comeback comes in the stronger debut of NoA's new Ken Griffey title: at #5 MLB featuring Ken Griffey Jr. wins out with 45,000 sold to Sega's renown, World Series Baseball title (#9), which debuted this month with 32,000 sold.
Now guys, Mega Man X has fallen to #20 it deserves better yeah? The January release has pushed just 70,000 by the end of March. Meanwhile last month's BOOM megahit, Sonic 3 (#3 this month) is above 400,000 already LTD!

GEN HW sold 270,000 to SNES's 180,000 this month. We're looking at an incredibly close LTD: 9.8m to 9.6m !!! Aaaaah

I remember Twin Snakes being called a bomba and was funny in july when Harvest Moon LTD became bigger.

Mario Party 10 ^^

Still reading though...

EDIT:
I wonder what kind of sales would suffice for a Pokemon Stadium on a console again. Colloseum did 343,00 first month so I wonder what they're expectations were. With the Wii U and 3DS periphals wouldn't be needed I would assume.

Then again, the effort to make it could go towards something more profitable....

EDIT:
Wow at Mario Party 1 legs.
And at Genesis sales

I can't be asked to searched hundreds of pages for a handful of posts, so could someone tell me how much the consoles sold, and Bloodborne in particular? I'm hearing BB charted so that's already a good sign.

3d - 2.67
Uno - 2.36
You - .85

BB - 3.89

If this is too much I can delete it.

Bloodborne was around 389K, if I recall property. I am not sure if reposting all the system numbers is proper in the NPD results thread due to how the NPD likes to hover around here. You can find the information you seek in the new predictions thread, though
