Was Risen 3 ever released? The first one was amazing after a few hours of eurojank intro stuff. The voice acting was some of the best in any RPG, which surprised me.

I want those puffy clouds on PC.

So was this good or another Risen 2?

I consider 2 to be good (though worse than 1) and supposedly 3 is somewhere in-between. But I haven't played it myself yet and if you don't like the series it's probably a good idea to stay away.

Risen 3's issue was that its PS3 and 360 versions were utter crap, like really, really bad. Definitely not the finest German engineering. The PC version scored decently, though, so the content of the game should be okay-ish.

I remember this game having really, really bad impressions, especially on the combat side. Did they ever fix that? Might be worth picking up if they did or if they do.

Not like there's much else out in August right now.

I got bored a few hours into Risen 2. Was 3 any better?

Also, another multiplat skipping Xbone? Pattern starting to form here.

So much stuff is skipping Xbone. The new WiiU?

It'd need some amazing exclusives first to earn that accolade ;)

The game is better than Risen 2, but still a far cry from Piranhas older works like Gothic 2.

Still, it will probably be the first Risen Game that could be close to PC quality on a Console.

And the games are actually a lot better than people who only know them from their previous horrible consoles ports probably think they are.

It's also by faaaaar the easiest Piranha Bytes Game. Sadly.

EU developer for a EU game. Makes sense to skip the X1.

No, it's pretty good.

It's also pretty nice looking considering that it's open world with no baked lighting (day/night cycle) and a small budget: (some of my gameplay shots, downsampled from 4k)

I hope more people give it a shot.

Huge fan of Gothic 2 so maybe I'll give it a shot. I own Risen 1 on PC but I haven't played it yet.

If it's $40, I might get it. Idk if I wanna spend 60 on a game that may not be so good with MGSV right around the corner.

I feel like playing a RPG with some European jank.

Is this or Arcania better? Raven's Cry never released on the PS4 right? Lol

Wow they look quite nice in terms of enviroments. Is this a swords and shields RPG or what type? Never played one before.

Same...loved Risen 1,although the final Boss was total bullshit and never got far in 2...my friend played 3 and if you can persevere through the bad start,it's a good game.

The eurojank is real, but despite that, I had more fun and enjoyment with Risen 3 than I did with Dragon Age Inquisition.
Once you get a handle on how to do combat properly(don't button mash), it's not bad at all. The game has good dialogue and great exploration.

WTF is happening lately with publishers skipping XB1?? must be some explanation for this, it's selling good enough to not be ignored, it's not WiiU although some pubs starting treating the console like it is.

I'm glad this is getting a PS4 version, completely forgot about it when I've been meaning to give it a go. Guess i'll wait a little longer.

I haven't played this but Arcania was great. Yes it felt like a low tier RPG but that's exactly what it is, but I thought it was a lot of fun and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Besides Indie devs and mostly small Japanese publishers, which is 100% understandable (there's not any point to porting something like Omega Quintet to the XB1), what other publishers are skipping the platform lately?

I thought Risen 3 was decent but you have to enjoy the kind of game that Piranha Bytes makes for this one to click. It wasn't the game that would let the Risen series find mainstream appeal.
