Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

GT Academy will probably move to PS4 next year, after GT7 is announced. They would have to essentially port GT6 to PS4 just for GT Academy 2015, and I don't think that's worth the resources. There's also the wheel support issue.

So, I had a go at making my own GT4 car last night. Only one that I could find both the necessary car and the technical info online was the BMW E92 M3 GT4.

Annoyingly, there are two identical copies of the GT2 version that was created under the same program, it even mentions the GT4 version in the car detail section, but such is life.

I've got the car as close as I can to the real life spec, and at the default setup of all the parts is quite a fun little car, the back will step out if you push it too hard but is definitely recoverable.

My problem is, I have no idea how to set a car up, don't suppose anyone here is willing to have a go at setting it up properly?

I expected the Zytek already last year to be part of GT Academy. Anyway it's great to see it will be part of this years GTA. Finally a LMP2 in GT. Thanks Wax!

After forgetting that I needed to go back and do it for nearly a year, I just golded the Brands Hatch Senna challenge with zero assists :D

Beat it by half a second and there's loads of time left to get, Senna was shit! ;-)

On another note, with GT Academy moving to Yas Marina, what do people think the chances are of that track being introduced tomorrow (or in the next few weeks)?

Maybe not tomorrow. It is the final phase of GTAcademy.
No Russia, Sweden or Canada this year.

Ugh, Silverstone, hate that track, although I don't know what I expected. No doubt round 2 will be the same with a slightly faster car and so on :(

Just turned on my ps3 in 3 months and now it sounds like a vacuum. Is it it pretty much dead? :(

Dammit Kaz hurry up with GT7.

Tried out the academy last night. Holy moly, with the assists turned off that GT-R is all kinds of broken.

It loses traction on less severe corners and lower speeds than I do everyday in my crappy old Almera on old budget road tyres...

Tap the brake ever so slightly whilst not going in a straight line, locked front tyres.

Already under braking in a straight line? Turn the wheel ever so slightly? Locked inside front tyre.

Need to knock off another half second and to do it I'm going to have to work out which corners to recklessly four wheel drift round (turn 1 for sure) and which need tip-toeing round like you're on wooden wheels.

So in other words, nothing has changed from previous GT Academy rounds. It is basically who can drift the fastest.

omg, I cant remember the last time I booted up the ps3.. but 16 d/l and installs for GT6..

I forgot how fun GT is. I still really like the friend ghost lines in time trials and yeah the GTR feels very delicate all around even with aids on.

Hoping for GT7 news soon

Realised there were only a few days left to qualify for the next round of the Academy, so decided to just get it out of the way by turning on ABS. Totally different car. Went from struggling to stay on the track to smashing the target time. Really reminded me again that ABS is just SRF-lite...

I will in no way even come close to placing high in GTA but are the rankings in the final round the only ones that matter? Or is it a composite of the events? IIRC it has only been the final event the last couple times.

I've never played Forza, audio good? I guess it would be hard pressed to worse than GT since GT is so bad in that respect.

Yeah, it's only the final round that matters, but you have to qualify the previous rounds (not sure if gold or bronze needed), to get to the next one. So if you want a go in the final round, you need to do the three previous ones.

I don't stand a chance either, sadly I'm no alien, but I want the free car that usually comes with it.

Interesting news about the sound guy, at least it's an indication that they are doing more than paying lip service to the problem.

Cool, thanks! That is what I was thinking it was but I have not been following it much this year.

You made it to the finals last year, right? Are you trying this year?

I squeaked into the top 32 tournament a few years ago. But was a good 1-2 seconds slower in the actual races so I never made it to Silverstone. Playing with a few of the guys on here back in the GT league, they probably would have had better luck.

This year is interesting since they are grouping different countries together. I'd be surprised if a few US players make the cut since we were always a bit slower globally. Im excited to see how close we get though.

The Audio guy is interesting since he's in Cali, I wonder if he works in one of Sony's cali studios..

Who is the US competing against?

Who want's some free GT Academy lap pace?

Apparently if you quit a GT Academy event go back to the GT Academy menu, then re-enter the same event you will now have improved grip levels to help you slash your lap times.

I wonder how many people have thrown away countless hours of hot lapping trying to get within remote distance of the top times only to find out they were completely wasting their time?

I'm assuming you're sighing at the situation rather than at me? ;-)

At the situation of course! We had leaderboard resets last year (corner cutting) and it was really really really annoying. It is a good thing I decided last week to pass on this year's competition.

Since the Hot Version kickstarter I have been catching up on Hot Version / Best Motoring. I have to say, HV/BM seem to have a large influence in the GT games. 3/5 lap battles, reverse grids, it's basically a digital representation of Dori Dori's daily life, lol.

smh at GTA

Huh, was that bug introduced in the new round or it went unnoticed the entire first round?

Anyhow, that sucks for those that tried their best without it, and shame on whoever wittingly abused it. There's one or two patches til the final round, so it'll be fixed when it "matters".

It doesn't look like it has a front-window either?

Now that can make a car feel really claustrophobic!

It does, but that first image makes it look like it doesn't

I wonder if they're going to save Lamborghini VGT for last. I think it's the one that people really want to see. Especially after the Egoista.

Did Peugeot just pop downstairs into Citroen's office and just copy the Citroen GT? lol.

You can argue that the Onyx is inspired by the GT. Or that these kind of horizontal, thin and agressive fronts are "in". Infinity and Mercedes are quite close too.

I enjoy that this car has quite the hard lines, something usually only lambos have.

And what was up with the Guilvert Gregory FIA sanctioned at the end?

^ at the very least we should get info on pikes peak. Gran turismo is the title sponsor for this year's climb.

I wonder if we will get 2 versions of the track (dirt and tarmac).

Didn't realize Pikes Peak was happening in the same month...
