The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

It's strange that 2 weeks from release there's now more PS4 footage than XB1 footage on a MS marketed game.

Apparently PlayStation recorded footage at CDPR offices from PS4 version and edited released trailers themselves. Considering they most likely recorded more than that released ~10 minutes so there is hoping they will make more trailers ASAP.

MS has released two pointless "talking head" videos about TW3, I wonder why they are slacking on gameplay footage.

It is kinda weird. Of course, it's also weird that MS got the marketing deal on this when it's the weakest version of the game (even if it's only in resolution, though minor performance differences are possible too).

Do we get this water effects on the PS4?

Unless a new PS4 footage with knee deep water is released, we will only find out on launch day.

There's so much work done on the water in this game in the PC version? That's amazing. Still, like you said, the water will look great on PS4. I just hope those ripples are in.

I don't understand what the issue is here. The water reacts to Geralt at the 5 minute mark in the Polish PS4 gameplay video. Although he's only partially in the water, and he's running not wading, the water clearly ripples and leaves a trail. His boots are even wet when he starts to run away. What am I missing? Is there more of an 'effect' in the PC GIF?

Really? There were ripples in the Polish PS4 gameplay? I must have missed it as the compression was pretty bad.

Sorry if this has already been addressed before, but they're gonna give us an option to make the UI bigger, like in Witcher2, right?

That shit was completely undiscernible on my 55 inch tv sitting about 7ft away and Witcher 2 had the EXACT same problem when it first launch :(

Embarrassing is what it is. Oh well, glad I have seen it on PS4. As that is where I will be playing it.
Exactly. I was hoping to see both in order to tell if the performance difference is enough to outweigh the physical extras found in the XB1 CE, but I think I'll stick with the PS4 CE just to be safe.

I love the color shift as he heads from shallow into deeper water. Beautiful job on that. But, w/out real splashes, the water looks too viscous, like mineral oil or something.

Au naturel eh? I guess traditions were different in his age.

He's European. We don't cut off parts of our manhood for no reason here.

(Might not be true for all of Europe. But it is here in Sweden, unless you (i.e. your parents) have a strong religious conviction to do it, which most don't. The norm here is to be uncut.)

I assume the water will look great on PS4, that said I don't know it'll it will be using the extreme tesselation that the PC version is able to. Also uses a Nvidia feature called Water Works, much like Hair Works. Although I am unsure if it had been or ever will be ported to the consoles.

Oh it's you, so need to show you the NVidia GameWorks sheet page again (which isn't even up to date since even Flex is planned for consoles).

First it's called WaveWorks and not Water Works. Second, who told you that The Witcher 3 will use NVidia WaveWorks? The only NVidia GameWorks it uses are: HairWorks, HBAO+ and NVIDIA PhysX Efffects and this has been confirmed: [http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/ar...witcher-3-wild-hunt-nvidia-geforce-gtx-bundle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfGFU2XPLr4

Also WaveWorks is one of the firts features that is available for all platforms including PS4 and XBone and any dev can downlaod its SDK and try it for all platforms: https://developer.nvidia.com/waveworks

So everything you said is wrong. Please refrain from telling things from your mind just to downplay the PS4, otherwise you will be corrected instatntly ;)

But those were the full water effects before the "bug" that turned them off

Yeah, that is some great old footage. Whether it makes it's way back or not (perhaps on PC) is of no concern to me. As I realize that changes happen during optimization and I just want a game that strikes a fine balance between being gorgeous and running well. What we have seen achieves just that and I am going to be more than happy playing this on my $400 PS4. It looks fantastic.

I mean the witcher 2 never even came out on playstation, I guess they figured that there would be more of a fan base on Xbox.

Is it only me who is really confused that Microsoft has the marketing deal, but Playstation is getting all the footage and behind the scenes interviews? And I agree, it's much easier to watch kinga

However, there is also the fact that the xb1 is a non-presence in a large part of the world.

I find this extremely weird, as well. For a game this big, I wonder why MS isn't aggressively advertising The Witcher 3 with the XB1.

I didn't like the first two games. but this one is looking like it might be good, the graphics look great but if the story is trash like the first two that will not save it.

Xbone is dead in Europe. This is Playstation Poland coverage, Sony has much greater presence.
