GTA V PC |OT| Benny Hill Sped Up Fake Gamey Edition

Man property ownership SUCKS so hard, it's just like some shitty mobile game. Constantly being pestered by my own employees to go chase a shipment isn't even remotely fun, I regret buying anything since my phone is constantly ringing. It's terrible.

You learn to tune it out after a while. But yeah, it's just about as annoying as the constant calls from friends in GTA IV.

It's so blatantly tacked on. Plus the amount of time it takes to make a profit from most of them makes me thing Rockstar was just having a laugh.

I'm getting really bad stuttering when I use Self Radio. Turn it off, it's perfect. Probably not my rig, either.. i5 4690k/970/8gb

Ideas? Is this a known issue?

Yes it is, been there since launch. It's not too bad for me personally (Game + Music on same SSD, about 15 tracks)

Installed this mod, increased traffic by 2x and peds by 4x.

Performance hit is barely noticeable, at least from what I've tested so far.

Yeah so half-assed, not even worth doing. The only thing worth buying is a garage and the airplane hangar.

I wish you could buy more safe houses offline but oh well.

Finally got an opportunity to play this a little bit and holy shit, gta v is incredible! Game basically restored my faith in the triple A open-world genre. It was totally destroyed by Bethesda, Ubisoft and Bioware, who turned what was supposed to be thrilling adventures into tedious grindfest, repetitiveness and shallow mediocrity.

All the studios that think that making players do the same thing over and over again is a great idea can go fuck right off. Fuck clearing same-looking areas, fuck climbing towers, fuck reputation points, and fuck content that was created in hopes of being avoided, that's ultimately fucked up shit, Bioware.

I can't stress enough how much repetitiveness devastate your gaming experience, and how crucial it is to avoid it and create unique content.

Now, I haven't advanced far enough in the story, but every bit of gameplay has been outstanding so far. And I'm not even a fan of fun games, more of an overcome-challenge guy, yet GTA makes me laugh and "wow" every 10 seconds or so.

I really hope it stays this way till the end. If I end up disappointed again, I'll give up playing games for good.

By the way, of course, everything stated above is my personal opinion, and I hope no one gets offended.

It tippers off a bit at the end of the story imo, but overall the journey itself is very very fun. What's so great about it too IMO, is that with the help of a few mods you can live out some crazy power fantasies. Just jumping over a building to get the angle on a group of people and then decimating them with a gun that shoots cars or a firework cannon is very satisfying.

Be sure to jump online. I've never had as much fun playing online in a game than I have with this game. It's really only limited by your own imagination. It's very fun.
Though, I've also been incredibly frustrated with how wonky the online is too, so keep that in mind.

I hope we get a mod that restores access to safehouses that you lose in the story. Fucking hate how Franklin gets stuck in that place in Vinewood Hills, forcing you to constantly have to navigate down to the city because his switch scenes almost always have him taking out the garbage or eating some crisps like a shithead.

Not to mention the utterly insane attention to detail. You can call up certain people after certain missions for unique dialogue. You can hang out with characters and get unique conversations during particular moments in the story. If you have to retry a part of a mission, you'll get alternate dialogue (though I really wish it was properly randomized instead of having to retry to have it occur). If you run for a while, your clothes get sweaty. If you get wet, then your footsteps will have a soggy sound effect. And on and on.

It's utterly mind-boggling to me that RockStar went all out to include dozens of different purchasable apartments for GTA Online and neglected to include any of them in singleplayer. They already exist! Just let me buy one! Franklin's house is nice and all, but it's such a pain in the ass to get to/from, and seeing as how I'm playing this game for entertainment, not the realistic sensation of how the rich distance themself from the poor wretches of society, that's a pretty sensational oversight. Almost as bad as giving Franklin the option to buy a car customization place off in BFE that's nowhere remotely near either one of his neighborhoods. Why the balls can't I buy one IN THE CITY? RockStar really screwed the pooch with the properties in singleplayer.

That's what really sells the world as a character/sense of place in my opinion. Those little details are what make it so special. I know I haven't found a ton of little things in game and it's fun to discover them. I was genuinely surprised when I first repeated a mission to hear different dialog. It really shows the amount of work that went into the game.

One example is the mission where you scope out the bank in Paleto Bay. Most players will only hear the hipster conversation. But if you fail and retry, it'll be a completely different convo. Shame it's not randomized though, so the hipster conversation is always the default one.

Couldn't agree more, Los Santos / Blaine County is just amazing and manages to feel totally diverse yet cohesive. The shitty areas look shitty, the nice areas are beautiful, the cars and pedestrians reflect their native setting - it's really what an open world should be. Like you said, "open world" is becoming another eye-roller of a term, like "visceral" or "mature," but GTA V really proves that a good open world can still be magical and captivating.

There's a lot of bizarre design decisions. That shit where you can buy a mod shop with Franklin, but only the one in the desert, which is the only one that gives you free upgrades, is indeed a huge offender. Then only having one single darts location in the game be located in the desert. And how there's two drinking locations right next to each other in Paleto Bay, but none at all in Sandy Shores.

Also stuff like forcing you to walk in certain interiors like Trevor's strip club safehouse, and making you hold down an extra button to run in firefights that take place in interiors (e.g. The Long Stretch, The Bureau Raid). Holding down R2 while moving the right stick to aim and also having to press down X to be able to run while firing in an interior is a load of shit.

I agree, using a controller to move and aim sucks. Kb/M son c'mon.

:p

I completely agree. The controller configurations could definitely use some improving. Is there not a mod out there that at least attempts to address it yet?

Not yet. What's even stupider is that first person mode allows you to run freely during interior shootouts. It's third person mode that forces you to walk unless you press an extra button. Meanwhile first person mode prevents you from running in Michael's house, but not third person mode.

I noticed that too. I don't necessarily want to be in first person all the time but moving around is so much better than the 3rd person camera.

Are the Mackenzie airfield missions a bottomless fries situation? I thought it would be 5 missions by plane and 5 by buggy but I've definitely done more than 5 buggy missions.

First person mode is more responsive as well. Try strafing sideways alternating between left and right in both modes. You can change directions instantly in first person mode, but in third person mode you stop moving and then change direction.

Yeah, you can keep doing them forever. It's the only way to make money off that property (unlike other properties which give you a weekly income).

The way the game decides which vehicles you want to keep is also really odd. I've lost some really nice cars because they just disappeared after a mission. Thankfully there are mods coming out that aim to fix this.

I'm also thinking of making a mod that allows you to remove attachments from guns (at least the silencer) outside Ammunation.

ok i am a bit confused .

I installed that mod that increases car and pedestrians and it works , but my game crashes after a few minutes .

what did i do wrong ?

Also , is the Scripthook mod necessary for any mod to work or is there anything else i need for mods to work properly ?

EDIT nemermind , rebuilding the rpf file fixed it .

Only 5 buggy and 5 plane missions are needed for 100%. After that it's just for money. Kinda like the rest of the game, utterly shit rewards for side missions.

Don't forget the towing property, where you have to tow 100 vehicles to break even. Exciting shit.

So yeah, I've made my first video with the Editor and I have to say that it looks pretty easy but it's hard to master. Even a simple smooth camera flyover is pretty hard with multiple marks.

Also I don't get how other peoples videos are so damn good looking and when I export a clip on "high" the bitrate is still fucking horrendous.

Stupid how you have to beat the game to unlock a bunch of outfits that you see throughout the story anyway. So what if I want to do a serious mission with Franklin in his boxers, or Trevor in a lady's tracksuit, or Michael in a police uniform? Or God forbid, Franklin with his green face bandana. Not to mention how some outfits come with gloves, but changing the colour of the t-shirt or whatever will remove them. So you have to use a skin selection trainer to wear them with whatever outfit.

Spoilers for the Paleto Score in the video, were medal notifications during missions removed from the PC version? They never popped up for me during my playthrough.

You should see a button prompt to reveal the medals and objectives to obtain them on the mission complete screen directly after a mission's completion. IIRC it's spacebar on kb/m, Square/X on controller.

That's only after the mission is completed. He meant that popup during the mission when the objective is complete as shown in the video.

I can't progress in the game. The Kifflom side mission with Michael isn't working where you have to wear the costume for 10 days, street race 3 isn't unlocking, stock races aren't available etc etc etc. I've tried sleeping and saving the game many times so time passes but it's not working. Tried the same technique with Michael for the costume, same thing with Franklin to unlock the other races. One of the off road races says inactive... I'm tired of this game not being clear on what to do in order to progress.

Street races are only available at night. Stock races become available after a certain mission. That off-road race has to be done at night, I think. Are you passing time as Michael while wearing the outfit? Just keep sleeping as him.

Trust me I've tried everything all kinds of variations in time and characters. Been trying for a week now, screw it. I've already completed the campaign and done most of the side missions. My checklist is at 78%

For some reason I can't launch GTA V anymore. It was working perfectly fine last week. I rebooted my PC and it still won't work.

EDIT: Finally fixed it. I had to reinstall Social Club.

Yeah the outfits system is weird, it seems governed by no rules in particular, just arbitrary conditions. Like how some outfits persist through death but others do not (ie: mission outfits revert back to regular clothes but triathlon suit does not, etc). I don't understand why the restrictions are in there.

Another small grievance I have is how fickle scuba gear is. For such a massive and fun mechanic it's silly that it relies on finding ONE type of boat and then exiting it and NEVER touching land. I wish you could just buy scuba gear like a parachute and that it would appear automatically when in the water. At the very least though I wish there was a small "grace period" to get back in the water, similar to how motorcycle helmets work in the game. Sucks when I'm halfway around the map and then I accidentally tap a sand bar and the character defiantly throws off the tank, forcing me to go ALL the way back to the south end to get another dinghy.

It's funny using the skin selection mod, as soon as you pick the scuba gear or parachute, the character will immediately take it off, letting you fill your house with random shit.

Also, do random events just get rarer at some point? Early on they were quite common, but now not so much. Some events refuse to even occur (e.g. the hitch lifts).

They still happen to me all the time but if you're talking about hitchhikers and stuff I'm pretty sure they are unique NPCs, and once you complete the drop off, you won't see them again. Random robberies and "get my wallets" happen repeatedly though.

I've yet to come across any hitchhikers. I did one prisoner encounter, but that's all. Had a look at the Social Club map, gone to the locations for the hitchikers, but nothing.

Some of those you can use as crew.

Typically sometimes requires time or mission progress.

Than it is timing (other choice in original post). The chick with broken down car.. I didn't know she even existed and I been in that area many times. Then boom no reason shows up.

So bummed by the desync issues in this game. Riding in a car is impossible with people online. I'll watch them srop drivong for ten seconds before the game catches up and I'm who onows where. Can't shoot or anything. Rockstar is so shitty for not supporting dedicated servers for such a demanding game.

Just came back to GTA5 after playing Bloodborne and it's running like ass. I thought i saw something about the latest Nvidia driver messing it up? What's up with it?
