Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

Well if it was a game title I'd think it would be like a cut down thing with mainly performance cars and fia licensed tracks or something.

Didn't they mention something about not releasing some watered down product?

Gran Turismo Sport could be a new racing team? Some Japanese website / blog said Kaz would participate in Pikes Peak next year.

A racing-focused Gran Turismo sounds like it might actually work?

Separating itself from the mainline 'Driving Simulator' and positioning it as a 'Racing Simulator.'

It could also be the name of an eSport competition that Sony and PD are organizing. I know that GT6 is on the Red Bull eSport circuit already.

I don't expect them to start splitting the series up. So if there's a Gran Turismo Sport, then that'll be GT7. Maybe it's called that to indicate a much bigger focus on racing?

Numbers are prestigious though. For games with infrequent releases, that a number is behind a title matters.

A GT7 will sell more than GTS just by virtue of the name, even if they're both the same game.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
If Gran Turismo becomes a "sport" focused game like Project CARS, I will disown this franchise immediately.

The entire point of GT is to be a virtual museum of cars you can drive.

'A virtual museum' wouldn't force you to take part in motorsport events before you have enough credits to drive the museum piece you wanted, but I guess being able to buy credits from PSN fixed this?

I do not foresee any GT related announcements on E3.

My perception is GT is never really at E3; mostly TGS and/or Gamescom. However, I have no data to back up that perception, lol.

[edit] by "at E3" I mean presentations, announcements, reveals, etc. GT usually has some presence (playable demos, etc)

GT3 was at E3 2001, I was there personally, it was amazing.

GT4: Prologue was announced and played at PS Experience London in 2004 IIRC

GT4 was announced at E3 as well IIRC

GT Vision was premiered at E3 (or was it TGS??)

GT:HD (2006 micro transaction version that included bikes, scrapped later in 2006) was mentioned and made playable on E3 2006 IIRC

GT5 was officially announced on E3 2010 for November release by SCEA, to be pushed for December, in one of the greatest IP meltdowns considering delay IIRC

Some dreams will become reality though.

This thread will continue to live.

* too much IIRC here, Snake, please correct all my misuses

So we're getting an announcement of the virtual track and their plans to tackle the Peak with their own GT Sport racing team the following year at PP 2015, right?

No update this month? Pikes Peak, Course Maker and FIA Championship getting served up in late June.

My amar translation device concludes that means we are only getting pikes peak this June...

I can see it now... GT6 Sport Edition will be the new spec 2.0 retail release. Featuring Pikes Peak, the FIA Championship, the course maker and some new race cars. Releasing december 2015.

GT7 vs Forza 7 in Q4 2017 will be epic tho...

But what about the update that is supposed to land on the 1st of June with the Peugeot VGT? Has there ever been two updates in one month before?

As far as I know, the rear wheels are powered by an electric motor, just the front and powered by a petrol engine. It's actually AWD as far as I'm concerned.

There are reports that the hybrid system will not be in place for Le Mans, and that it will be running FWD only. All LMP1s are required to be utilizing a hybrid power system now though, so we'll see.

It's probably just expectations. This will be the third E3 since the PS4 was announced, so many are expecting it just based on that. Of course that could also be a reason why you shouldn't expect it. We'd already seen GT's for the PS2 and PS3 running on the hardware by this point. In fact GT3 and GT5P were already released at this point.

GT is sorta like TLG to me at this point. I'm not expecting it to appear at any shows that way i'm not disappointed if it's not there.

GT6 was announced the year it was releasing. I suspect they will do the same with GT7 so I totally dont expect a reveal this year. GT5 taught them not to reveal too early.

Maybe next year and they reveal it to coincide with GT academy 2016.

"GT7 is coming this holiday. Get a small taste of Gran Turismo on PS4 by downloading GT Academy from the PS4 store today!"
