Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 is much, much better now. Bless.

Now how about some refunds, I'm not waiting months for patches.

Exactly. This could take quite some time.

I'm not one of those to scream for refunds when a glitch happens or for a slight delay, but this game has big quality issues and is simply not what was promised. They need to allow them for this.

3-6 months realistically to fix all the problems.

3-6 months to fix all the problems I think is a little optimistic, especially if they leave it to the same dev (LOL if they do) as there are alot of minor bugs that are not getting much talk such as (going based off this very thread) voice chat issues, inability to completely mute the BGM for spotify etc.

All joking aside yes... it is sounding as if there are core problems with the methods used to port the game resulting in all sorts of unpredictable behavior at the level of individual character moves. That's potentially so many glitches to find to make it tournament stable... ugh. Just sounds nasty.

Capcom's statement reiterates how important this is to the Capcom Cup, in other words, their image. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see, if not an emergency Hexadrive deployment, someone like QLOC contracted to begin testing this mess.

A few things I came across playing tonight.

* I'm hitting links fine, BUT that's not the say there is no input lag. It's more than likely I'm just adjusting which happens. A more apt test would be to go back and forth between versions. I'm using a ps3 TE round 2.
* Recent players you just played don't show up under players met, or possibly playing them more than once removes them from the list. I had to search for Lyteedge manually after playing a set with him. Happened again after doing a few mirrors with another juri player.
* Green Bars definitely feels comparable or a lot better compared to the ps3 version. Landed release fadc U2 in randoms earlier several times as well as a few more links I tend to avoid using.
* I ran into another sound glitch while playing the aforementioned mirrors set. We ended up on the airplane stage and right off the bat the humming of the jet engines started to get louder and louder. Eventually it got so loud I felt like I had a dozen hairdryers duct taped to my head.

They're not giving refunds? I thought they give one a year or something like that.

I was denied refunds twice today (over the phone and their live chat). Gonna try calling tomorrow and asking for whoever answers boss' boss. They've admitted that this is broken so maybe I'll get lucky.

I'm watching a stream of Maxilmillan playing the PS4 version right now.

He played the PC version then played the PS4 version right after. He's saying inputs for special moves such as Raging Demon for Evil Ryu have different timing (has to be inputed much faster in Raging Demon's case).

I agree. They really made a big deal about promoting this version of the game as having virtually lag-free input. It's appalling to find out that there's more lag in this version.

I wonder if there was some point during the game's development where the game really did have much less lag than other versions, and that the lag was introduced very late in the development schedule. It's likely this really was a design goal, but something screwed it up and they rushed it out the door anyway.

Sony needs to ensure this is remedied quickly, especially since they are heavily sponsoring major fighting game events like EVO. It would be a total embarrassment for Sony if event organizers are forced to bypass the PS4 in favor of a competitor's last-generation system due to performance issues.
Part of me almost wonders if Other Ocean pulled a Silent Hill HD and accidentally released a beta.

Like you said, the fact that it has more lag when they promised less is seriously baffling.

DAMN. They could just go and re-build this from scratch.

That's is essentially what is happening. It's a practical recode possibly. They could do it in 1-2 months time if they take the Sega approach, but who knows. All I know was SF4 base was not coded very well regardless. All platforms but 360 have the same input timing, it never being a clean port. This game was coded like shit. Thankfully since they have egg on their face sf5 should be getting better code.

I dont know of any company that willingly gives refunds for digitally bought games.

Right, they're not obligated to though support can do so for long time customers. It's usually with a "this is a one time only" disclaimer.

Dang

I'll try my luck with support tomorrow, as well. The PC community is still there so I'm not too torn up over this thing, but I'd rather not keep something I won't be playing.

Sony should pull it from the store and allow refunds to anyone who requests them.

How did Microsoft handle refund requests with MCC? (I know they gave a month of Live way later)

No they shouldn't haha. I would be pissed if they did that and I didn't get the chance to buy it.

Should make a new thread for the new news.

What a embarrassment for Sony and their 3rd party production machine.

It should be a embarrassment. They did not do the due dilligence to see that it's a shit developer doing it. Hopefully this kills that studio and spreads the devs to the winds so maybe they actually join a good team and find some use.

How the hell did this get outsourced in such an awful way? This is worse than High Voltage's normal porting efforts, no? And those are pretty bad.

He literally said the 3DS version of Super is better than this.

Wow.

That's because it actually is. The only negatives the 3DS version has are the static backgrounds (hardware limitation) and the controls (which are to be expected). The game on 3DS, otherwise, runs beautifully and really well.

And, well, it's a several updates/versions behind but that's due to the year it was released in (2011).

Seeing the PC version on Max's stream right after the PS4 version is really hitting home his assertion that the PS4 version is running slower than the other versions.

It does look faster in comparison.
