So has anyone explained why Playism is distributing this and not Microsoft themselves? Did it underperform so badly that MS is washing their hands of it and letting any ol' schmuks pick it up and do whether they want with it?
The rule seems to be if microsoft doesnt own the ip they wont publish the pc version.

I'm still intrigued.

Like, seriously.

Can I ask Swery to send me the DP PC source?

They didn't make the PC port Toybox did so you'd have to ask them! Swery was visibly distraught about the port quality on twitter so I'm guessing that's why they did stuff themselves this time.

This is the first occasion I had to use a "download accelerator" in 5 years or so.

Working well though, 8 MB/s.
By stealing your bandwidth.

Does this game have more natural controls?

I remember trying this on xbox one and finding it very odd to control eg not normal move stick to move (presumably due to originally being targetted at kinnect)

Hmm interesting, love the artstyle - and price is quite cheap, may get the deluxe for the artbook mainly

Still can't believed this is coming to PC now, based Swery. It's not as good as the Twin Peaks season 3 news, but it goes along well with it. :D

^is that all digital or is this getting a physical release?

So, on the negative side the launcher doesn't have a 2560x1440 option (or anything higher than 1080p). When will developers start learning to enumerate available resolutions?

On the positive side, it's a UE game, so that doesn't matter really.
In [my games]\D4 Dark Dreams Don't Die DEMO\Ms01Game\Config there's a Ms01SystemSettings.ini file with all the common UE3 options -- including ResX and ResY -- and from a quick test they seem to work.

I'm imagining MaxSmoothedFramerate=62 is there as well then. What's the performance like, in line with other UE3 stuff, if you don't mind me asking?

I will ask my broken record question: is UE4 obmb available?

Isnt the game UE4?

Cool stuff. I played through it a ton of times on Xbox One and will buy it and play it on PC as well. Going to check out how they handle this PC version with the demo.

Fuck yeah. Demo running beautifully for me. Can't wait for the full release. I don't care how long it takes, I really hope more episodes come out eventually. Gotta find dat D.

That's pretty surprising, I had assumed the port would be a bit hungry and wouldn't run very well on older systems. Care to share your settings?

whatever was default at 1080, I didn't change any options before launching.

was averaging 45fps, only had it drop below 30 a handful of times.

It's UE3, so not really that surprising (also why I was never really concerned about this one).

All Japanese devs should just use UE4 from now on.

The whole game is like 20 minutes long, how do you demo it?

Always hard at work, I see.

So excellent.

Well it took a bit more faffing that I would have though but crackers resolutions are a go.

Considering how much aliasing that sketch outline shader has at 1920x1080 I'm surprised how nicely it cleans up.

Whether that artbook is physical or digital determined whether I'm going base or deluxe on this game. I might buy it outside of the upcoming Steam sale because god knows this game needs it.

that puzzling face
Welp. With Win8.1 display scaling, I couldn't get the game to even launch because the launcher couldn't figure out any resolutions, drop down menu was blank, and it said "cannot run below 1280x720" (paraphrased)

Dropping my resoluion/scaling from 3200x1800 200% to 1920x1080 100% fixed it.

Just in case anyone else is in the same predicament.

I thought this was a Disgaea 4 pc announcement.

I'm sad now.

I'm glad I had heard of D4 so this didn't happen to me.

I'll be picking this one up.

Woohoo!
