This whole thread has descended into Off-Topic & anime/actress appreciation again >.< Other communities have had their warnings lately (some even closed). Just had to trawl through 300 posts and only found a few Steam/Game related ones worth reading.

Man, this thread took a nosedive after the last summer sale. I can't wait to see what happens this year.

Don't start this again. The last time you had an argument with other people, it went on for 20 pages and was just as counterproductive (if not moreso) than the random tangents people go off on.

Let it go.

Football-GAF was closed for a while, and warned about it's constant off-topic, insular and hostile attitude when it was reopened. I'm not saying that this thread is like that, but (as seen above), if you speak out against the Off Topic, Anime, actress love-in you often get snide comments thrown back at you. Every time.
I get that we strive heavily Off-Topic sometimes and that is annoying for people who don't enjoy that certtain Off-Topic topic. I appreciate that you also called actresses, because snide comments get thrown usually when people just single out anime and ignore every other kind of Off-Topic. "Oh no, you guys talked a page about anime, let's get back to talk three pages about cake." And funnily in enough in today's case there wasn't Off-Topic anime talk. Unless Greenlogjt doesn't count anymore.

It's not wrong to call people back to topic, but please stop act like animefans are at fault for everything. And as zkylon said, albeit a bit crudely, it's healthier for everyone to start a new, more interesting topic than to just say "I don't like this", since that leads usually to a discussion about that instead to the actual topic.

I don't mind a little bit of off-topic, but steam thread is literally actress/waifu thread. There was the Steam/PC news thread, that was a good thread.

Many would say that is not true, i was a regular poster in those threads, and there is other reasons for it being closed, but some people on neogaf are obviously going to favour anime over a sport.

i'm very confused what people that hate how this thread is actually want to talk about

there are ots for every game and even threads for every steam feature every time it gets announced

there's no lack of threads if you want super srs on-topic conversation, but this is mostly a community hub for ppl to hang out and talk about many things, not only steam games.

it's what makes this thread great

People don't speak out, as we've attempted to discuss before as they get called names straight away. I don't come to into the Steam thread to see a bunch of Anime/actress pictures and gifs. I don't really appreciate the abuse you get for speaking out against it. Just because you like it, doesn't mean everyone else should put up and shut up about it - or as you put it be labelled as a 'whiner' .

As for creating conversation, it's often lost amongst the torrent of off-topic, anime & actress spam.
you get this reaction because you're not being original, it's the millionth time it's been said and every single time is the same thing, destructive complaining (like calling people's posts "spam") that doesn't contribute anything other than make the thread worse

And as zkylon said, albeit a bit crudely, it's healthier for everyone to start a new, more interesting topic than to just say "I don't like this", since that leads usually to a discussion about that instead to the actual topic.
i would rather say you're being overly delicate <3

Just bought a white ps4 and witcher 3, project cars and the last of us for €340 on Amazon. Should compliment my PC well over the years.

I guess that calls for more Life is Strange gifs.[/IMG]

Yeah, I wasn't aware of the mod discussions happening at the time when it was closed. I wasn't sure if Evilore's post about Football-GAF Community thread was specific for Football-GAF or the general rule of thumb for all community threads.

Well, I guess I'm not sure how having another countless conversation about waifus, anime and the like is original either. You're saying I add nothing to conversation, and I'm saying the conversations about the above add very little to those who don't like them or (at times) feel uncomfortable having to see the conversations. There is a thread for Anime, there's probably a thread for waifus and there's a thread to show appreciation to actresses.

This is the only community Steam thread. The Gaming Side Steam Thread was a nice idea, but it's only for news and not real discussion about the news/games/updates of Steam.

I just feel like this community thread gets so full of 'non-steam' related stuff that having to trawl through 3 pages 100 posts per page to try and find something interesting and steam related is way too much.
I also don't really like that I have to put up with it, because some people do like it.

To post something topical too: Gwent is love, Gwent is life and Gwent has a OT. Visit us and play the best part of Witcher 3.

i would rather say you're being overly delicate <3
I don't think I am. The thread isn't "ours" alone. If people don't feel goodwe should take a look at it. I think that the claim that we straight to Off-Topic a lot is valid. See, I want that a fun thread for everyone to post and share, where we communicate instead of pushing people out. We shouldn't just say "Get content or get out", when we want them to respect us, we have to respect them too.

Look, I am very fine with the state of the thread and think it don't need many tweaks, since we are in community, but if people speak up, we shouldn't just beat them down, it's no good to have an agressive tone.

I've never really had any problems with it tbh - everyone to their own.

I usually find skimming past posts i'm not interested in quite easy.

There's been a fair amount of Witcher 3 stuff posted in here recently(more than anything else) - i dont have the game and with my current video card i'm unlikely to get it in the near future, i usually just jump past that stuff.

I tend to not venture far from steamgaf and indie threads so maybe thats why skimming posts doesn't bother me.

Well, the Spirits Within was certainly a visual feast. LiS should be interesting when I play the episodes back to back in a few months.

it's totally not one of the best, but it's better than shitty advent children for sure

what specifically do you want to talk about that this thread isn't covering?

i never said they need to "get content" or whatever

i'm just tired of this idea of "whatever i say will get ignored so why bother" and then complain that people aren't talking enough about the shit you want to talk about

Are we still talking about Luchador or already about lashman?
:X

Btu seriously, I get your side, since I am on your side, but Luchador's post wasn't even that bad. Could've been easily be cleared with a nice explanation why communities die here.

I wonder if they are going to release another ver without PR refferences. Or this time make a deal with Toei.

ChinaGAF, I want to ask has RMB already implemented? I wonder if Valve would time their new currencies with Summer Sale.

Imagine if 1% of China buy Bad Rats,

Edit: FF Spirit Within is a good movie. I remember liking it. When I was Junior High. One of just several instances I went to movie theater.

Just read about that massive removal of Tom Clancy games from steam.
Is there any reason for this? It can't be license issues, or can it?
I have only one Tom Clancy game myself, not really a fan, but removal made me regret not buying some more.
what have you done to me Jasec?

Also noticed in activity feed that some people bought Subject 13. Anybody played it already? How is it?

edited: what annoys me most about izombie talk, that there is a game on steam - I zombie and I always think that people talk about the game... I have no clue about the show, or hadn't until now.

Isn't it just GRAW 1 and 2? Still see a lot of Clancy games if I search on steam.

just checked, true...
I got confused by earlier talk in steam thread.
So what exactly was removed then?

edited: wait a second, are those games going to be removed in the future?

lashman

Yeah, it's only GRAW 1 & 2 from what I've seen. Iashman went on a panic buy spree afterwards!

better safe than sorry .... especially since ubi naturally doesn't give enough of a fuck to either warn people or at least put the games on sale before they axe them

i remember really liking graw 2

probably the only tom clancy game i ever liked (granted haven't played that many)

the camera thing was just super cool, i don't even remember how it worked but i loved that

lashman

This was their plan all along!

I doubt that ... I mean - if they put GRAWs on sale (or at least warned us about it) - a loooot of people would buy the whole thing anyway ...

and they'd probably make a shittonne of money from GRAWs too, but ...

ubi gonna ubi ...

I think we need dedicated thread about games removal from steam, especially suspected or announced removal, it's really hard to follow it in the steam thread, especially if one is away for some time, and have to read hundreds of pages just to pick one or two posts.
Anybody is willing to do such a thread?

Italian quality games, bitches!

actually never played both games, so idk maybe it's shit and I also hope the devs don't read this because I'm pretty sure I know a couple of them

I have original like for 3 years or so, still haven't got around playing it, even if I've heard only good things about it and awaited it to be released on steam.

story of my life?

There's a good group or two on Steam for this.
