Fallout 4's release date listed as 2015 on the Bethesda store, GMG, Amazon, GS, EB

*Tries to hold in excitement*
If this is true, that would be amazing. I'm already looking forward to Fallout 4 as this will be my first Fallout game.

Honestly this wouldn't shock me that much. It's presumably been in development for a few years now and the trailer looked to be purely in game. No goofy CG, live action or barely there tease.

Hopefully this is part of the trend to announce stuff way closer to release.

This game has probably been in the works since Skyrim shipped, so yea, I don't think a 2015 release is out of the question.

'14 to '15 might be the craziest improvement YOY for software releases ever. I hope this is true. Four years between Skyrim and this seems plausible.

It's awesome that so many sellers are listing 2015 but why wasn't that in the trailer? Surely if they were planning for this year they would be parading that around by now unless they're not sure.

I think it's because it's a teaser for the full reveal in two weeks, where they'll have a lot more information including a release date. Also, because a same-year release would be a great thing to announce at your own press venue.

Man that'd be sweet if they can pull off a 2015 release. Need to avoid following the game too much then, because it'll be tempting to buy soon after release, and there are already too many games in the backlog...

Also on the store page, the codes they're giving off for 20% off on anything else in the store for preordering the game expire 31 Oct this year. Maybe a stretch but it could give credence to a 2015 release?

So the Great War was on October 23rd, and those pre-order codes sent out by Bethesda expire on October 31st. Can't be just a coincidence, right? It's also a Friday, and we all know how Bethesda like to release their stuff that follows the game's timeline or have sort of significance (like 11/11/11)

Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 in the same year.

Being that Fallout is easily in my top 3 series of all time I want it to be ASAP but i'd rather wait till next year and it to be worked out and finished instead of rushed.

I would have though spring of next year at the earliest.
Why? I honestly am dumbfounded that people thought this was coming in 2016. I could possibly see it being pushed to Spring 2016 at the absolute latest if they have issues at the end of development, but later than that is crazy talk. This game has been in development for nearly FOUR YEARS! People honestly thought this game was going to have a five year development cycle? That is just crazy talk to me. Coming out at the end of 2015 already gives Fallout 4 a year longer of development time than Skyrim and Oblivion had.

It was only three years between Fallout 3 and Skyrim, (2008-2011), so rather than merely being plausible...it might actually be probable. It would definitely buck the trend for release schedules this generation.

What makes you think it'd be rushed? It'll have been in development for about 4 years by the end of this year, it's had plenty of time.

Pretty much. Bethesda wanted to unveil their game when it was practically done, they might have reached that stage. A 2015 release seems very plausible.

I could see it coming out this year. Mainly I could see that Bethesda has been working on it for quite a while, but decided to wait until within the year's release, near E3 time to reveal it, to capitalize on the most hype potential, which I agree with doing.

I have zero faith in Persona 5 making it this year so if this is out that would be nice.

I dont see it happening though. Early next year at the earliest. Game is clearly close enough. We wont be waiting for a year or something

do people really think this isn't a 2015 title? Pete Hines has stated numerous times that Bethesda's game will get announced and release in a small window of time. It'll probably be released Oct. - Dec. 2015.
