Sounds like roman cancels, but strictly for movement. Is that what people perceive as "janky" or "stilted" movement in Tekken? That would explain a lot. A lot of people definitely don't like that.

The jankiness comes only from the forward and backward movement. You can also cancel your lateral movement in the z axis as well into a block at any moment. Unfortunately it requires heavy execution along, great patience, along with extremely vigilant awareness to properly execute. It's something that the high Korean players have mastered which leads to their clear dominance in any competition. In the end, yes it hurts the presentation but the amount of control you can have over your character in Tekken is unprecedented.

I disagree.
I have no problem with you defending sonic fox as a good player.

I do have a problem with you bitching about Dizzy being a tester for a game and imply that is why he is good at the game.

Dizzy was not simply a tester but a part time employee. The conflict of interest and allowing him to partake in the tournament was kind of silly. But, to late to change anything now all I know next time they run it back SonicFox will be sending him off in a body bag and I'll back him to do that for very large amount.

SonicFox going back to his main game lol.

I don't really know how to respond to this. VSav gets praise but it'd be almost invisible in FGW if it weren't for Rotanibor and we got more discussion now, but sometimes in the last few years I've felt like a hobo on a soapbox when talking SG here lol. Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there.

Soul Calibur in general goes under the radar. Tekken is so maligned at times its almost pointless to start up conversation. There's nothing wrong with the games its just that no one here cares about it besides to few Tekken players here and there. When conversation does happen its always about how hard the game is and its the same beats over and over. Makes you not wanna talk about it.

ok part time employee. Who gives a shit when the game is getting patched left and right? Certainly not the community as a whole.

O because he didn't beat sonicfox with skills and used insider knowledge to manipulate his win.

You somehow forget to mention his evo win in mk9. Was that because of insider info as well? Is 16bit a fraud because he is an employee as well? what about Tom Brady?

I guess Perfect Legend 2 MK9 evo wins are suspect because his best friend is Tom Brady who was also an employee at NRS.

edit

Look, you can just say sonicfox is just better than everybody. But you are seriously bitching about DJT being a part time employee as a tester?

There are plenty of other employees who haven't done anything major in the game though. Dizzy is a great MK player so him beating Sonic Fox isn't some huge scandal. If employment gave you an upperhand then Tom Brady would be incredibly dominate. The gap between the player who wins the most and the player immediately below them gets overblown too much in fighting games. Sonic Fox is good, butt here are a good number of NRS players who can give him trouble or beat him at a pretty even rate.

The only time you should bitch about a tester winning is when they hold some exploit or broken shit that they didn't tell the dev team about, and steam roll their opponents with it.

We should ban the Japanese. They have had every ASW game a year ahead of us, or Ban anyone out of country who comes to EVO for Tekken 7.

Got any favorite examples of this in action? I've got my favorite GG, VSav and SG vids I've posted in the past to educate people. It might be a good idea to put together even a handful for Tekken (I should make a bookmark folder for 3D fighters) for future reference.

It's a lot easier to know what to look for when someone experienced is pointing at the signs.

I've been there and anime even has dedicated gifs saying it should fuck off (certainly used in jest and seriousness even outside of gaf, I'm sure). Don't let the mood crush you too much. If you ever feel like talking about SC/Tekken don't be afraid to do so.

He abused the knowledge of F12 at ComboBreaker and how some characters Kenshi, Erron Black, etc can't deal with it. You can act like he was not a part time employee but he was. I watched the podcast he did with Aris and he was never up front about what he exactly worked on due to "NDA".

Also, what are you on about me bitching about DJT being a part time employee?

End of the day huge props to Dizzy for being allowed to play at Combobreaker and these other testers that are allowed in tournament a week or two after, but I don't see Dizzy beating SonicFox in a runback and especially now that the F12 string was fixed so it could not be abused against certain characters.

Sonic Fox is hands down one of the best players in whatever game he has on rotation.

Blah blah blah no fundamentals Q.Q If he is cranking out ridiculous win rates and you think he has no fundamentals in your game, you're admitting your game rewards his style and not fundamentals.

He has fundamentals, Im not even sure why thats a thing in the mkx scene.

That was common knowledge amongst people that did their research on maiden. Pig of the hut knew about it before even going into the match-up. It wasn't some secret thing dizzy was trying hide from people, all high level players knew about it. Please stop saying this tester bull crap, dizzy is a great player and that's that. It was a great grand finals that I would like to see the rematch to.

I just can't....what?

NDA are real first of all. Don't be a bitch by putting it in quotes and pretending its not a real thing.

I never said he was or wasn't an employee. If you can read (seems to be a consistent issue) I said that you dismissing DJT's skill as an actual player because he was an employee is a bitch move and something I would expect on TYM.

The games been out over a month and had several patches. And you are still bitching about a time they played the game in beta? Why would he not be "allowed" to play?

I wished ATP could have DJT as a guest again so that they could call you out at the end of the show, because honestly you are being ridiculous.

Him abusing F12 seems like something someone could figure out after simply playing the game for some time. It's a move that a lot of people figured out how to abuse early on and finding an obvious hard to deal with move or strategy is what fighting games revolve around early on. It was a close set that Dizzy managed to win.

The rare KOF types, VF types and the more vocal anime fans are a godsend. They definitely keep the discussion a bit more varied. Too bad we don't see as much Soulcalibur or Tekken talk unless there is a tournament going.

Not every game should have a six button fighter and I'd dare say most shouldn't, but when it clicks, it definitely clicks. The move (both normal and special) list would be much smaller, but I'd (and surely Alstein) would definitely play a 4 button fighter that used all of SG's mechanics. Petghost would probably be pretty happy with that too.

Any thread that starts with Ippo punched in the face repeatedly is on a good start. ^_^

Disagree. Skullgirls problem to me isn't the 6 buttons. I actually like the 6 buttons.

My problem with SG is how Mike Z designed the game. It works, but not in a way I find very fun. Resets are too good, combined with long combos, too much feeling stupid when you guess wrong, and it's easy to guess wrong. Also just don't like airdashes much (I'm fine with double jumps though, I mean I loved the Power Instinct series)

I'd be perfectly OK with a 6 button KOF.

Just hoping that DOA Steam netcode is soon, decent and not delayed- I want to start playing 3d fighter again. I'm not too worried about playerbase for that if the netcode is playable.
