Rumour: Mark Cerny's team (Knack) helping out on finishing The Last Guardian

The article you linked doesn't say that.

Edit: it does but it doesn't source that statement and I can't find anything else saying that. It's false. He's still working on the project as a contracted employee.

You're aware that this was the same article that game spot falsely claimed the title was "officially dead" right? Their insight into the development of TLG is highly suspect.
That's fine. Believe whatever you want, but I posted evidence to support my claim, so don't go around saying I'm spreading BS. Really don't appreciate it.

Another thing - it was IGN who reported the project was officially dead, not Gamespot.

There is no record of Ueda saying his creative contribution was finished a long time ago outside of that single gamespot article which is referenced as the source for this statement in a handful of other articles. So either Ueda spoke directly to Gamespot to tell them this which is incredibly doubtful or somehow Gamespot was magically the only site to report on the statement and just so happened neglected to source it. Hmmmmm.

Keep in mind also that this is same updated article where they tried to say the project was "officially cancelled." They clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

Your evidence is specious. It's not conclusive at all and we have heard on multiple occasions that Ueda is still working on the title as a contractor. We know for a fact he was contracted to finish the title and is still employed under that contract. So excuse me for taking that over the unsourced statement on a gamespot article.

The article you linked was the the article Gamespot posted on the same story and later updated. They reported the same story IGN did.

Setting yourselves up for a fall....

Personally, no fall for me. I've pretty much been let down enough that I can't be let down anymore if its not at this E3, or delayed again. It's fun getting hyped with others.

If it doesn't show up, meh. Can't really expect anything less by this point. If anything, it's surprising that as each year passes, Sony still refuses to let the project go.

Don't know how I feel about this, if true.

This might help:

To be clear, Cerny team = Studio Japan Devs and the same team that was already working on TLG, but left to help on Knack. They are all from the same studio. Instead of saying Cernys team, it's really: TLG devs moved back to finishing TLG after finishing Knack (since there is so much confusion on this)

^^^

Posted that in another thread. Unless you are saying that, you don't know how to feel about it being finished up. If so, my bad.

I just assumed people knew it was being worked on, as Sony said last year they weren't letting it go.

My baseless crap has evidence to support it, where's yours?

Your post implied his vision would no longer be behind it -- period. TLG sans his vision etc. That would mean them stripping out all prior work/writing/storyboards etc.

If you mean, he is no longer actively working on it (which I think your current replies have cleared up), then I can't argue with that. But at this point even if he's not come back and his work has been done for a long time, that doesn't mean it's not his vision of that his vision is no longer present.

Edit: I guess Ueda has made more recent statements then what you provided. But all my points still stand. Your post sounded like it was saying all of his vision was stripped out. Which, even if he was no longer working on it, that doesn't mean his Vision would be 100% gone from the project.

I had no freakin idea

OP should have said, TLG team that went to work on Knack, returned to finish up TLG after Knack finished. People are getting hung up on "Cernys team".

The news aspect of this story should be that TLG team is actively finishing it up (although many would argue: of course, this isnt suprising). The way it was phrased though, made it sound like it was ground breaking news that Cernys team was helping finish the game. With emphasis on Cernys team.

I don't remember pre-E3 week getting quite this heated in the past. (꒪່౪̮꒪່)

I bet Ueda works as supervisor of some sort who looks at things and goes 'eh' or 'ah'

TLG will be presented by Cerny on stage, live from a bathtub

Ueda himself?

While it’s been a long time coming, THE LAST GUARDIAN remains under my creative supervision and is still in development by an incredibly talented team.

So what about the evidence that you speak of? The fact that he said his creative contribution completed does not imply what you said. If anything, it implies the game is close to completion.

His evidence is an unsourced Ueda quote in a corrected gamespot article on the supposed cancellation of The Last Guardian. A quite that I can find no mention of anywhere else except for in reference to that specific gamespot article on other sites.

Obviously super trustworthy.
