Dear Japan,
please stop buying this game. You have a fuckton of lag in Splat Zones and I can't play until you sleep.

Thanks

I don't think they ever sleep. There's always at least one Japanese person in my group no matter what time I'm playing

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Yeah, it's still far from good but I was honestly expecting worse.

Actually, I think it's not that far from how the most recent + versions sold on Vita. I need to search a bit more, though

Not only did Wii U stay #1, it broke the 20k mark. Solid work, Splatoon.

I played 30 straight games in a lobby and I was the only non japan person playing. It was awesome.

I think the legs are going to be there over these summer months for Splatoon. I could see 500k through the summer and over 600k by the end of the year.

You see Nintendo? This is why you need some big revolutionary game at launch that really shows something new and different...not a 4th New Super Mario Bros game...

...Yeah I know there was ZombiU, but...:(

Drop for Splatoon but staying strong, Wii U actually increased? Amaze.

Can't believe Natsuiro is up there (though only just breaking 13k), apparently it's ruuuuubbisssssh

Depends on what the size of the new shipment was. It pretty much sold out the initial shipment during those first few days. It had a 97% or around there sell through.

Nice for Splatoon. Probably gonna have legs for another week or two.

3DS third party seems, uh, hmm. Not good.

Stella Glow bombed hard, but I think Atelier is actually decent, given the context.

You'll have to spend to market it too. Let's see what NoA learns from it.
Poor Xenoblade and moreover D3 but oh well

As for Atelier they did put effort in it indeed (3DS version has most content of 3 Rorona versions by far).

Wii U up on the 2nd week of Splatoon is incredible, for all things considered with Japan as it is atm.

The MGS High School game debut at around 20k, surely that's a terrible for its sales, no?

So a couple of quick things.

Fuck Natsuiro High School. Fuck that game's very existence.

Secondly: there's something poetic about Stella Glow bombing, despite it being a decent little game. At least you gave it a shot at the very end, Epoch of Images.

RIP IE

Wow wow wow!
Great news! I was so pessimistic about this game. Japan seems to love it. Not feeling the hype outside Japan due the lack of PR, but let's wait for NPD.

For once I'm not scratching my head, wondering why a wonderful game doesn't sell. I like it that way.

But... New Super Mario U sold more copies.

But... New Super Mario U sold more copies.

It was also the sequel to a game that sold 30 Million copies.

Short of Mario Kart at the time that looked like the best game to launch it with.

Nintendo need to start making the sequel for their next home console's launch, they need to grow this IP since it has tons of potential.
I'm glad when a new and fresh fun IP gets rewarded like that.

So, when's the Splatoon TV series coming out? Nintendo need to keep the interest in this IP going.

This. The iron is hot right now for them to strike. They really should be on this. If this was Level 5 we'd have an announcement of a TV series, companion manga and toys already.

Really good Splatoon numbers indeed. And i'm surprised by the WiiU increase. Really curious to see how much this game will sell now.

What's up with the ps4? The sony faithful told us that once bloodborne, dqh and ffxv demo dropped it would do respectable (25k) numbers from there on out.

Oh and great job for splatoon, well deserved!
Some people predicted (like a lot of people do in these thread) and ended up being wrong, nothing more to it than that.

To increase the baseline above Mario Kart and Smash is a huge achievement. Congrats to the young Nintendo devs.

I really hope Iwata realizes this is what happens when you offer an enticing new IP that cannot be found on the handheld platform. Their handheld and console lines have never been so similar.

Between MC and Famitsu..Squids numbers are GREAT. Especially the Wii U bump, pretty impressive. Also the ST% is very high, that would lead into a solid third week too for Splatoon.

Splatoon's second week is genuinely surprising. I'm glad a new IP has been able to do well and hopefully this encourages Nintendo to do more.

But... New Super Mario U sold more copies.

Might've sold more copies...but it's not a game that would've turned any heads that were already not planning to buy the console. Only people who were already going to buy a Wii U bought NSMBU. Not saying it's a bad game, it's the best of the NSMB games easily...but not something that really sells a console as something new and special.
