Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

Nah, the PS3 install/update stuff is the smooth part. They're obnoxiously huge and slow for GT6, but they work.

The real issue is with the stuff the game does internally. It can fall into a failed state that requires you delete the data and start from scratch (even redoing the stuff handled by the PS3's systems). Forced me to redo the entire six-hour process when I got the game recently.

Ah, gotcha. Wonder what sort of problems adding in the course maker might bring, lol.

Wait, hold on. I'm watching this review, and there's no B-Spec in Gran Turismo 6? What about the track editor or Top Gear track (was that only Forza?) ?

B-Spec was added in a couple of patches ago.

Oh, that's great to hear! I'm really considering getting it.

My favorite is absolutely Gran Turismo 2, and while I were disappointed in GT3 (I were a kid and wanted visual pit-stops lol), I never really played much of GT4 and GT5, even though I owned them.

The only thing that still hasn't been added is the course maker and the remaining vision GT cars.

Amar (or anyone else who might know), did we ever find out what happened at release with the permanent damage existing then being removed and images on the website being altered '1984' style?

I bought this game on sale at Target
Since I got this, I have wasted 2 evenings trying to update this thing.

People mentioned downloading, then installing, one update file at a time .

Except there's 18 files to date now! It was total about 12 GB of updates. and the game itself has its own install system! And even the install process crashes - so I can't just leave it on at night, go to work and come back to play.

This is completely unacceptable.

I'm going back to GT5. Servers are down, but I don't go online much anyways.

If you don't go online, why not play GT6 offline then? Just skip/cancel the update prompt.

Thats a good point. Except if there 18 update files, totalling 12 gb, I'm sure there are bugs that were patched.

My GT 5 files are all up to date.

I might just wait for a GT 6 XL edition

What if they're splitting the game like they tried to do with GTHD/GT5? And GT Sport is only one part?

That would be even worse than a prologue.

Lol.

I looked on GT Surgeons and the website with the GT Sports pre-order was posted on the forum on April 23rd.

Amar must have got confirmation from his sources for his May 19th GT Sport neogaf post?

With Amar not foreseeing any E3 GT announcements, I guess Sony will slip GT Sport into their E3 montage trailer, just a quick 10-15sec teaser to get the juices going before it's officially announced at its own event later this month:

That French interview with the GT Planet questions is in.

Kaz confirms no Pikes Peak for GT6, only new cars and course maker will be added to GT6.

Still can't say when Course Maker will be released, it's taken more work than first imagined, he won't participate at Pikes Peak, he's too busy working on GT PS4 which he can't talk about - didn't he talk about it in those other interviews?

Anyway, so nobody asked him about the Isle of Man TT? What an absolute shit show.

Welp.

New cars = more crappy Vision GT's without interior. No Pikes Peak, no Interlagos, nothing else but the course maker (for which he still doesn't want to give a date, even after a year and a half). It doesn't matter anyway since at this point I expect it to be just a huge disappointment.

GT6 was a mistake, they shouldn't have done it. I'm glad that it was such a giant flop that they're still embarrassed about updating their sales website. And with GT7 Sport Prologue Vision Concept Part 1 releasing in 2019, there's just no reason to buy a PS4 anytime soon, or ever.

Gran Turismo is done for.

Oh, what happened to the delay being "[not] because PD has overstretched itself and the tech"?

So... it seems nothing will come at E3... I hope we will get something before year end about GT7. Just plain terrible handling of the franchise in the last years. GT6, at best, should have been a cross-gen game and a new GT game has to come at the lastest 2y after the release of a new PS console. Didnt Sony get the memo with GT3?

Now I'm scared of opening up my copy of GT6 to download and install all of those updates.

What do you call those cars designed for the Pikes Peak? Have they not been in the series since Gran Turismo 2?

i am in the same boat got gt6 at a cheap rate recently but the amount of patches scares me ... any special advise on how to handle them?

From that we can conclude course maker is coming to GT6 only because it was advertised since the beginning but the "real" version will be coming in GT7.
I agree, GT6 was a mistake.

Seems like he was trying to dodge the E3 question.

JVL : Could you tell us about GT7 and if it will be present at E3 ?
Kazunori : Today, it's a Peugeot event, we can't talk about the next Gran Turismo.

I agree, GT6 was a mistake.

It makes me sad when I fire GT6 up and see all that potential wasted on a machine as powerful as my microwave oven.

I was thinking about this today and though of what may be brewing.

1. There is a team at PD still working on GT6 features – VGT cars, due to possible contractual obligations. Patches. Maybe the Course Maker. Ideally, this Course Maker would serve as a connectivity beta test for the full fledged GT7 version, since it seems to involve net infrastructure for GPS data, mobile apps and what have you. The client

2. GT Sport / 7 Prologue would be a glorified demo featuring only racing cars, since most of those are already modeled in Premium quality. You could build a compelling racing game with fewer cars and tracks with a more limited scope.

3. GT7 is coming with everything above added to it... one day in 2017.

Congrats! Now you need to get a debugger and help find the debug camera :p

I've switched my PS3 to debug but I'm having trouble launching the game because of some dumb trophy registration error. :( On debug you can snap uncompressed .bmp images with a mouse click.

Ah you've gone to DEX. Honestly that sounds like it's going to give me a huge headache especially if you're having trouble with it. lol. Taking screens with cfw is a pain in the ass though.

I'm already having trouble with the mysis recording plugin. I can change the resolution fine or look at the button prompt menu with L1, but pressing r3 doesn't record anything.
