Finished up the episodes on Hulu. I find myself getting a bit more dissatisfied with the runtime. The end of "Lion 3: Straight to Video" lacked some impact, which I attribute to them fumbling the pacing. Wish they had studied "Speak Like a Child" from Cowboy Bebop in how to better utilize such a device. It just blew my mind to see that
Really good to see her doing VA work again. Thought it was her voice but she hasn't been that active so I doubted myself.

Very good wow. I need to rewatch S1 already because just from memory the foreshadowing in the episodes is just incredible. I want to see what I missed.

Just saw Rose's Scabbard and damn Pearl wtf? Given the other Gems reactions it seems it isn't the first time something like this has happened.

It really does seem that Rose's passing was something that Pearl hasn't dealt with, especially with that weird look she gave to Steven at the end of the episode. I'm super excited to learn more about Pearl in this next season.

I marathon'd the whole thing a few months back and really enjoyed it but my friends are having trouble getting past the first few episodes... which I do remember as a bit meandering.
Short of forcing someone to watch it all, what do you think is the strongest episode to start with and/or way to consume it for a skeptical first-timer?
It's been a while since I've watched it so I don't really have much insight except that it took a while for the series to grow on me.

I hate jumping in the middle of the series but there is some good stand alone episodes. On the Run, Alone Together, Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem, Pearl the Swordfighter, Giant Woman are all pretty great.
That's the idea. Scrafty should have it ready to go by Monday. We're long overdue. My main concern, of course, is that after Steven Bomb 2.0 we'll probably be back on hiatus for quite some time. Hopefully these upcoming episodes will satisfy the hungry fanbase until then.
We should be getting some episode previews as early as tomorrow morning.
I think in their perspective, Rose's death is still a really recent occurrence. Remember that gems live well over 6000 years. To them, 10 or 12 years probably isn't much time at all.

So the last episode I saw of this was back in March with the Haunted House and I just caught up. WOW! What a show. Has there been any word on an official soundtrack yet?
Also yeah I remember thinking how odd Garnet's behavior was when Steven and Connie fused but then later it became super obvious. Can't wait for more!

Huh, it looks like Equestria Daily went ahead with the Steven Universe spinoff after all, Beach City Bugle. As you may recall, after the initial announcement, they got tons of complaints from SU fans who didn't want bronies mixing into their fandom, which caused the site to be canceled. According to the announcement post, they received encouragement from members of the Steven Universe staff, which is a surprise.
Oh man, the song with Rose seems to be a duet with Greg.

Stevnonnie's weapon will be Rose's Sword which Connie will use and Steven's shield which he'll use.
If the bleeding part wasn't in there, I'd say Garnet was relaying her future vision of SBTS to Connie's mom.
