The fairly obscure game "Street Fighter Online Mouse Generation" had Ryu, a few Street Fighter and Rival School characters against some of the cast of Cyborg 009, some characters from various novels by Louis Cha, some other anime cross over characters, one original character and BARACK OBAMA!

He also appeared as an enemy in "The Simpsons Game"

You do not play as him, but he technically did fight The Simpsons (I never played the game so I don't know which characters would count as him fighting against.)

I remember that Ken defeated him when he went all emo becouse of that Evil Ryu thing, Ryu gets better after and it's very often implied that he's stronger than Ken.

This. During the course of the SF series, Ryu becomes more & more stronger, while Ken starts slacking off.

Plus the fact that he is married & has a child to look after doesn't help Ken's case much, as he could possibly be even more weaker in the future if he doesn't stay in tip top shape like Ryu.

I haven't seen the smash footage yet though (trying not to let all the leaks spoil my E3) so I was going off of the image in the OP.

Ryu looks way better in V than 4 and 3 doesn't count because it isn't recent (plus it had the best art of him)...

...and anyone can make a facial expression to make themselves look like a freak.
It's when your face looks like that permanently, is where the problem lies.

SvC Chaos only character - what if Ken got souped up by Orochi, the counterpart for Riot Iori... which is weird, because Capcom vs SNK already had Evil Ryu for that.

I'm pretty sure Jin is a more known fighter than Ryu. I think.

I don't alternate versions of the same character count, like Violent Ken to Ken - it's still the same individual, using a different set of moves, alternate mindset of infused with alternate powers.

Otherwise version of, say, Chun-Li with and without projectiles or the Spinning Bird kick should be considered different characters too.

the smash footage isnt a leak. nintendo started e3 early with a smash direct detailing ryu and others today
