@Nintendo Thank you for watching. We take opinions of this year's Digital Event seriously and will work to better meet your expectations.

That's something. What a joke this year was. I am embarrassed. :(

Cannibalize Metroid.
Cannibalize Paper Mario (again?).
Cannibalize Animal Crossing.
Cannibalize Zelda.
100 Mario games.

"Mario is in all of our souls. Let us embrace our love for Nintendo on social media. Thank you for watching our most insulting E3 conference ever."

What a disaster. So many half-commitments to much-desired projects in condescending ways. And an overemphasis on the most overemphasized mascot in gaming. How many people does Nintendo think love Mario this much?

Cry every time.

Why can't they just admit that to them, E3 is no more important than any other Nintendo Direct every couple months?

E3 2013 was an anomaly, it seems. Before that, E3 2010 was also pretty epic but that was before the adventure of Nintendo E3 presentations being online-only.

EDIT: I just remembered, their 2012 E3 show was also rather disappointing. I don't think they announced a single new thing there, did they?

Yeah.. I will believe this if next year is better. They spent way too much time on the developer talks and not enough time on say.. the Wii U!

I thought we all knew the Wii U was bleeding out? Why is this a surprise?

Don't they usually have bigger announcements later in the year anyway? Will TGS bring about any big surprises?

Not

The puppets were great. THE PUPPETS WERE GREAT

IT'S OK IWATA

But I mean, not a lot they could do this year with a defunct console that they're devoting most of their resources to replace. ALMOST solid showing with that in mind.

E3 2012 was the Wii U software unveiling year. Pikmin, Nintendoland, NSMBU. It was a bad show, but there was a lot of new stuff.

Its was a decent format, just sucked content-wise.
If by format you mean the reveal trailer + 8 or so minutes of Developer's Diary, then no, it was pretty bad.

Next year's will definitely be better, as there are few ways they can do worse than this, but mainly because of the inevitable mobile games + NX blowout.

The got the bad luck on stepping up after the FF7 remake and Shenmue 3. And they chose Amiibos and Mario Maker as the spotlight catchers. I felt pretty empty.

January 2016 direct will announce a new home console and a ridiculous launch lineup, just watch.

None of the games announced will be released until 2018.

Lets hope he takes this to heart. I feel bad for the guy.

I understand that sentiment, but their digital event this year was pretty bad. I don't know if all of the reactions I saw were justified, some were a bit extreme, but being disappointed is pretty understandable.
