Batman AK PC Perf Thread of DARKNESS, NO SETTINGS [30fps cap / intro removal in OP]

GeForce 970, everything maxed out at 1440p, runs smooth as butter. Other specs are good too.

Anti-alias looks crappy.

Also, why can't I enable the new smoke effects?

The benchmark is completely inaccurate with regards to in game performance. The benchmark states I should be getting locked 60, but if you're flying around, the game stutters all over the place. I always get 30 + but man unlocked the game is a hot mess driving around arkham city

Yeah, it auto detects whatever is connected.

Initially tried my DS4 using inputmapper came up with 360 prompts, imputmapper off PS4 controls.

That's really sweet imo...

i still want to use inputmapper/ds4windows so i can use touchpad bindings for screenshots/etc.

is it possible to change the button prompts to DS4 controls independently of that? not a huge deal but would be cool

I'm on an SSD. What's the consensus? Pre-load or wait until I can download?

Does decrypting take a long time and is it going to take up 2X space on my SSD while it does so?

Have you jumped in the batmobile yet? I was getting single digit frames in that.
Yeah, just did some more driving and it stays pretty much locked at 30 fps. Not sure what's up with the locked 30fps in story mode though.

This is the benchmark result I get with everything turned to max @ 1080p:

So what's the line I need to change in the ini file to remove the 30 fps cap and where is said ini located?

PC port is utter trash. I only wanted to play the first five minutes since I'm playing through it all tonight on PS4 but it stuttered with EVERYTHING ON LOW/OFF
and it was locked to 30.

If I had a shit rig, that would be acceptable. But nope. Playing on 1080p, here are my specs.

OS: Win 8.1 64 Bit
Processor: i7-3770
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980
Graphics Memory: 4 GB

Oh, and lack of AA options, Texture Quality only has "Low" and "Normal" options and microstutter and frame drops were rampant.

Initial impressions don't seem to hot. Hope these issues can be patched / hotfixed shortly. Really hoping I made the right choice of buying on PC over PS4 version.

Well first impressions of this are terrible. The 30fps would be forgivable if the constant stuttering weren't so jarring. I've found that as is usually the case, locking the FPS using Riva and enabling V-sync in the Nvidia Control Panel gives far better results.

It's worth noting that for some reason, I had to turn 'Application Detection Level' up to High in order to get the Riva OSD working but once I did, oh boy did it paint a horrible picture. Sticking with the default 30fps, GPU usage never goes above 30%, CPU is just chilling too yet the stuttering and general jankyness is almost unbearable.

what version of RivaTuner are you using please, cpuld you possible post your settings maybe a screenshot please?

i cant get the overlay to show in steam

Steam isn't exactly safe if you don't want to get your game pirated though, I can see why they used Denuvo. Maybe it's why the performance is all over thevplace for some.

Even Denuvo has been broken and cracks for games using it can be now made. I'm surprised if we some day get DRM that scene doesn't break eventually.

I really didn't expect there to be a Windows 10 driver out for this game today. Will come back with performance results.

Before the update, I was averaging out at 70fps in the performance test, but the framerate was much worse than that when actually playing the game.

4770k stock, and GTX 970.

People with streaming/stuttering problems:

- What is your system memory and how much do you have?
- How much GPU memory do you have?
- Are you installed on an HDD or SSD?

Same card same problem.

Game runs like shit, it's not even a great looker so it feels like there's something wrong with the port, with it being locked to 30fps too something is off.

I'd wager there's something not quite right with how the game streams assets into the world. My system can't seem to hold a steady 60fps at 1080p while both GPU and CPU loads are well below 50%. I'd say the game engine is the bottleneck in its current state. It reminds me of how Far Cry 4 (or Watch_Dogs, the Evil Within) ran at launch. Frame rate dips and stutters all over the place. It's a mess to say the least.

No second GPU usage. No idea what the fucking is going on.

I'm sure you know this already, but if you installed the new Nvidia drivers (if you're on Nvidia cards), be sure to check the control panel and make sure SLI is enabled. For me it disabled SLI after I updated.

Still have an hour to go before I can test to see if it actually works though. :p
