Playstation Access just uploaded those two videos for Horizon Zero Dawn.

Interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_p4u8xIQxo

What they didn't show at the conference:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdGgeGY6nLc

- The Thunderjaw has 550k polygons.
- It has 93 plates of armor that can be attacked individually.
- It has two major weak points, the "power core" in the heart, & "AI Core" in the head.
- The game is "very much an RPG".
- You can "quick craft" arrow heads for the bow.
- There's towns, villages, & quests.
- Crafting is a major component of the game.
- The game is targeting 2016.
- The combat is described as "tactical".
- Every single location seen in the trailer is explorable.
- The RPG elements will not slow down the combat.
- Aloy's "job" is a machine huntress.
- The "Combat" & "RPG" are both very big parts of the game.

A lot of that is old info, but there's some new info as well.

This game is sounding great, looking forward to hearing more.

Playstation Access (and Gametrailers) has been my favourite content for this years E3.

So good :).

I can see the self chatter stuff getting cheesy and old fast tho.
It got old during the E3 gameplay. I kept wishing she'd shut up.

Maybe it was just increased for presentation's sake, though. At the least, hopefully there's a setting.

I love the talk on weak points. You can go for the AI Core which is in the head or the Power Core which is in the heart. Its reassuring theyve thought about how these enemies arnt just there because they're cool but actually have a reason for looking like they do.

I cant wait!

Can somebody summarize what they say wasn't shown? I'm at work and can't watch Youtube videos.
Thanks.

they use ropecaster, to set up a bunch of trip mines on 1 side of the field. then she use an exploding arrow on the other side of the field, causing the Grazer (deer-esque robots) to run straight to the trip mine and killing a bunch of them.

other thing they talk about the gameplay a little bit more. ThunderJaw had 500K polygons, 15 variety of attacks, 90+ place with hit point, you can destroy outer armor parts leaving weak spot. this video also talk that there are power core (located in the heart) and AI core (located in the head), you can take them down either way.

also when ThunderJaw come in the demo, you can see spears etc on his body, this particular Thunderjaw from the demo is already in weaker state, only have half HP total because before this, the Thunderjaw just had a battle with some other tribe. so they retain their damage etc in this open world game

It's very rare to see a new I.P. generate such enthusiasm. I hope Guerilla delivers and NEVER MAKES ANOTHER KILLZONE. ^_^

Sounds cool. Thanks.

The fact that you have to be strategic about how you attack the enemy so as not to damage the material for loot is fantastic.

Absolutely my Game of Show. I am curious if the entire environment is destructible like the rocks from the game play trailer.

Anyome got the good bits in text form? Can't listen in this place.

Few notes made as I was listening. Reiterates a lot of detail you might have heard elsewhere:

  • They saw a live demo of the same section we saw from the gameplay trailer
  • No loading screens
  • Open world hunting which they compare to The Witcher
  • It's an RPG at heart but their focus is on action. It's not intended to be deep
  • There's a system called quick-craft to be used in battle to create things like arrows
  • They describe the combat as tactical, so there will be lots of options of how to bring down enemies using Aloy's tools and weapons
  • The E3 demo shows Aloy (pronounced 'Ey-loy') on a quest she got from a village to harvest resources from the grazing deer-like machines
  • In the playthrough they saw, the player laid a rope trap for the deer machines which exploded a bunch of them before they could escape
  • The big T-Rex one is called the Thunderjaw. Made from over 550,000 polygons. 93 different hit-plates; i.e. all destructible elements on its armour
  • The Thunderjaw in the demo was not at full health as it has been battling another tribe previously
  • The mystery of the machines is a driving force behind the game
  • Due in 2016

So is the consensus that Horizon will be Sony's big Holiday 2016 release?

I'd hate to have to wait that long- but I feel like it'll be worth it. :}

- Every single location seen in the trailer is explorable.

They showed the pre apocalypse city in the trailer though. Why would that be explorable? It was way too dense and pretty to reasonably be explorable.

He's either excluding that, or you may be able to explore it in its future state.

we've seen 2 weapons fo far
1. Bow, 3 arrow type (exploding arrow, electric/stun arrow, normal/armor percing arrow)
2. RopeCaster, 2 ammo type so far (Downrope, the one she used in the demo, and Trip mines, the one shown behind close door)

This is blasphemy. GG's game threads should be filled to the max with GIFs. The F*** is this thread doing?

That spear weapon as well.

In an article about this game(can't remember which one) someone said some untouched ruined would be available for exploration so you likely be able to visit the city.

Everything is great. Except "Thunderjaw", the one dude was calling them "thundermaws" which is a way cooler name. Love the breaking bits off dinos to affect stamina or use as weapons. It seems like Monster Hunting but with controls I'll like, exactly why I liked Freedom Wars. But now Open World, and this is one of the times where I'd consider that a positive.

Ahhhh... so is the line of thinking that GT7 and GoW4 will be unveiled at PSX and released 10-12 months later? I could see that, actually.

That would be a ridiculous lineup. Street Fighter V, Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, The Last Guardian, Horizon, GT7 and God Of War 4 in one calendar year? Seems unlikely. Plus Dreams and the new Quantic Dream game will probably get major attention at the Paris show in addition what is revealed at TGS.

Yeah, I think Horizon will be September, GoW4 will be November, & GT7 will be December.

Damn. That would be massive.
Hell, one of those could even afford to be bumped to spring 2017 and whatever two remain would still be incredibly strong holiday titles.

Not to mention either FFXV or KHIII... and although they are multi-plat, either/both of these will still sell PS4s.
2016 has ridiculous potential.

Mmmm every location is exporable is just the icing on the cake to this ambitious piece of work!

This game, really, is such a huge step in the right direction for where I'd like to see RPG's going. Bright, LUSH, environments, cool concepts and monster / character design and just the overall art style.. the music from the trailer, also grand.

Keep up the great work, Guerrilla Games!

Tbh im kind of amazed how much GG have made the dinobots "feel" alive.

Killzone has always (at least since KZ2 I don't recall KZ1) had great animations and graphics so it's not too surprising. I've wanted something more out-there from them like this ever since I saw the alien jungle area in Killzone 3, it's beautiful and has these spider-limb plant things and...damn it looks good. A damn shame how often they've been making boring bombed-out concrete cities in those games.

Sony published the following titles between February 2009 & March 2010 (1 calendar year).

- Killzone 2.
- inFamous.
- Uncharted 2.
- Heavy Rain.
- God of War 3.
- Demon's Souls.
- Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.
- Singstar.
- Flower.
- Fat Princess.
- Mag.
- MLB: The Show.

That was probably the best 1 year period for any publisher ever, so having a stacked year is not foreign to them.

I'm still not sold on all of these first party games from Sony coming out next year. Horizon is my most anticipated though
