PS4 keeps telling me I don't have enough space for downloads, yet I do.

This is getting very irritating, the ps4 keeps saying "Derp can't download" and tells me that I need more space for downloads, specifically 134.4 mb. And yet I have over 60 gigs. Any solutions?

Have you tried rebuilding the database (option in safe mode, hold power button until second beep when the PS4 is off). I've heard of it fixing a lot of weird issues including a library issue I had (some games wouldn't launch). IT doesn't delete any saves/games so it's safe to do even if it doesn't end up helping so it's a good troubleshooting step.

Supposedly Ether One is causing the issue. Either that or one of the other games you have installed.

A specific game can cause that? That's scary...though I have Ether One (patched I think) and I haven't noticed this

I get this all the time, that exact memory requirement too. I've never needed to clear as much as 60gb though.

Just delete a game then reinstall, they don't seem to be affected in my experience.

How big is the game you are trying to download? It may need that 134.4mb more to have enough overall space for the installed game./

Well it's updates, the recent GTA5 update keeps giving me cannot download and now the whole driveclub flub.

I don't need 60 gigs that's just how much free space I have atm.

Same here. Had over 50 GB free, but it still said I needed to delete 134.4 MB for the 3 GB Arkham Knight patch.

Edit: Never had Ether One.

Have a full hard drive and it took less than 10 minutes. Probably the only solution.
It's quite fast actually. My PS4 screws up a lot which necessitates me doing this at least once a month. Doesn't take long.
Ohh ok. Well in that case.

Fake edit:Just checked, my download for driveclub has started, maybe because I deleted the ether one save file?

I had this happen when trying to put The Witcher 3 on my ps4, I even deleted lots of stuff and kept getting it, but it seems it keeps bringing up the error until I restarted my ps4.

I'm having the same dumb 134.4mb issue with my batman patch. I tried rebuilding the database and that didn't help, i deleted my ether one save file (took a good 5 minutes just for this shitty OS to load the save data list) and immediately 10 other updates popped up for other games, but the batman update still won't work. I have no idea what the hell is going on, fun times.

I had this same problem earlier today. idk what fixed it though.

EDIT:
Nevermind. My PS4 just told me it didn't download Destiny past 600MB. SMH. This thing has been problems for the last week. So now I have to deal with it now allowing me to downlaod games because supposedly I don't have enough space?

Still got this problem. Doesn`t matter how much free space there is and how much I need to install, it always shows I need 134.4mb.I tried to install TLOU from disc with 60 GB free, did not work.

If you clear enough space, I found ejecting and reinserting the disc solves the problem. logging out and in would do it as well.

This happens to me whenever it asks me to clear space... afterwards, it simply doesn't recognize it until I do one of the above.

Worked after deleting 10 gb. But 70 gb free to install 44gb is a bit annoying.

It must be a specific issue since 134.4 mb always seems to be the requested amount. I haven't had the issue since I deleted the ether one save file from my console.

I'll ticket the issue although if its as widespread as this thread seems to indicate I'm guessing they already know about it.

Hope so still cant dl gtav update. says needs 134mb. I cleared 20gbs of captured footagw.

Sorry for the necro thread bump but this is happening to me with the new driveclub update - did anyone suss out the solution? Tried a restart but nope. Watching the patch in the notification screen shows it get to 25% preparing to download then restart several times before giving up. Not tried the database rebuild yet as some guys reported it didn't work...

I had the same with the GTA5 patch earlier in the month - had over 10Gb free but kept saying the same amount as the OP - only until I deleted something big (PvZ - over a few GBs) did it download - looks like that patch was only 500Mb in size too :/

ps3ud0 8)

For future reference in case anyone stumbles across this thread with the same issue, I've got past the issue and patch is now downloading.

I rebuilt the database and restarted several times but that didn't cure it. Watching the storage management section in settings whilst it was attempting to d/l showed the free space drop from 11gb to 7gb, then it would restart. The update patch is only 500mb but the accumulated patches are around 10gb. I cleared some more space (up to 30gb) and it worked (the free storage space dropped to 20gb whilst preparing to d/l). So the issue may well be related to total patch size and needing free space to work in - it's the 134.4mb required message that throws people off.

Does anyone know the cause of this yet? Cause FFS I had like 50 GB free on my HDD earlier today went to download the new hitman map couldn't... deleted a bunch of stuff finally let me download keep in mind the new hitman map is only 4-5GB....

Just got a Titanfall 2 Alpha code tried to download it can't... had to clear up 93GB of space before my PS4 was satisfied. =|

Isn't this caused by your notifications being full or something? I remember someone mentioning that if it gets full it messes something up.

I am always experiencing memory issues with my PS4 and it is so annoying. Have 50GB's free, yet I cannot install a 15-20GB game. I really need a bigger hard drive.

No clue tbh. I know the *real* solution is to just upgrade HDD to like 2TB but its frustrating when in the moment you're looking at the screen saying you have 65GB free and the PS4 is telling you to fuck off when you're trying to download a 12GB game. =|

I had this with a Destiny patch, checking I've got way more than enough room. I probably should at some point just nuke the whole game and let it fix itself. Didn't think about the safe mode thing though. I'll have to give that a go.

You're probably thinking of upload notifications. But I can't remember if it was this issue that they caused.

I've got a 2TB HD with like 1TB of free space and I've still gotten the error before. I deleted some stuff and it's been fine since but it's pretty ridiculous.

Damn. I wonder if its a problem in the OS level or something. Like, I know on PS3 you had to calculate in double the space because it needed to download the installer and then unpack it but even if you figure in double space none of this makes any sense.

Weird, I was having saving issues with Fallout 4 this past week. Telling me that I needed 11.33 mb to able to save my games. Checked hd - 30 gb left. Read reddit, gamefaqs, and bethesda forums. Reinstalled my game, deleted some saves = save error. Some suggested to rebuild database and I did earlier this morning and there doesn't seem to be any issues as of now.

I'm baffled tbqh. Stock hdd. It's a annoying bug that will probably show up later down the road :/

Edit: to clarify, I have encountered the issues the older posts have described too. Mainly when trying to install BF4 dlc when I have more than enough space for them.

I am having this same issue with DC. It needs like 16GB and I have 40+ free and it won't download. On the other hand it downloaded Transformers fine. Really frustrating. I did the database rebuild, deleted unwanted save files and reboot PS4 but no luck so far :(

It seems to be a common issue with software in general. My phone has that problem, I have 1.5 gigs free and want to download a 20 Mb app, only to get an 'insufficient space' message. Searched around and couldn't get a clear answer as to why.

Sorry to bump but having crazy irritating issues with this; I can see that Rebuilding is advised, but I am worried about the state of my PT demo; I really don't want to lose it!!

It's complete torture, this stuff.

So it's a 140MB download

But that will be totaled with 30-40+ GB when you factor in ALL the downloads you ever made for that title. This is what the PS4 will count, rather than the measly 140MB.

You'll probably have to clear an extra 10GB of space to make up 80GB at least.

It's a joke, frankly.

Didn't they add the ability to redownload PT?

I think just clearing loads of space should fix it.
