Batman AK PC Perf Thread of DARKNESS, NO SETTINGS [30fps cap / intro removal in OP]

A brief question if anyone is able to lend some input.

If I go PS4 I'm going to get a locked 30fps (or near as damn it experience.

If I go PC (with a GTX780) am I going to get a locked 30fps comparable experience with slightly improved graphics?

I guess I'm asking if the default PC 30fps lock is a 'smooth' console lock or do I need to start messing with Vsync, RTSS etc.?

I cannot even fathom how WB pushed this game out in this state after the MKX debacle, this is a company that just needs to be outright avoided from here on out on PC. It obvious no fucks are given for the platform.

Just had an entire fight in an area and the high-res textures never loaded in. All the floors and walls were low-res PS1 looking garbage. And I've had it before where the textures just never pop in. Game's installed on an SSD, too.

What the fuck is going on with this game, people? Why not just delay the PC version like they did before? God this is a trainwreck.

Damn, i came so close to buying this on GMG last night before launch. Glad i did not do that, holy fuck. WB and Rocksteady suck for treating PC gamers badly like this.

This whole situation is so disheartening even though the game works well enough for me to enjoy it (locked 4k30). I might just give it a break till they sort this out. Witcher 3, here I come

You aren't going to get better gfx on PC unless you use nvidia game works stuff. In any situation, worse consistency than PS4 frame rate wise

I still can't believe they farmed this out with so little attention given the marketing fanfare with the Nvidia tie-in and the explicit focus on performance and features. It's mind-boggling.

This is so much like the recent Ultra SF4 port on PS4, where it was also farmed out with negligence despite being highlighted as the ultimate version with specific promotion based on performance for use on the Capcom Pro Tour.

What is it with publishers these days having no clue what scrutiny these games would be under when they're flagship brands?

Sadly, these were the last two games I bought. Both at launch no less with no recourse for refunds. So frustrating.
Feels bad, man.

You either get mad framerate dips , hitching , stuttering , crashing , or LOD Pop-ins.

The game is just pure garbage.

I'd bank on the fact that the PC version will get fixed sometime soon.

If you want to play it now, go PS4.

If you don't mind waiting for a
hopefully
better experience, stick with PC.

I am actually mostly happy with the performance from my GTX 780. Which is surprising to me after being disappointed with Kepler performance in The Witcher 3.

Specs are i5 2500k @ 4.5, 8gb DDR3@1866mhz and a 780 with a moderate overclock.

Running at 1080p with everything on minus the smoke/paper effects gives me 71fps avg in the benchmark and 40-60 in game. Not having any stuttering issues either. Really disappointed in the lack of AO though.

The longer this goes on the more annoyed I am. I was really looking forward to playing this today and instead I keep coming back here and getting more and more disappointed at the lack of official communication on the issue.

I feel dumb. I thought I was playing at 1440p, it's actually 1440x900. Turned up to 1080p (max), and sure enough, it runs like ass.
I'm back at the Witcher until they fix this shit.

2gb 770 here. game does not run good. played it for about a half hour but it's just not enjoyable with the technical hiccups. 8gb ram with a 4670k also.

Look how long it took them to fix that :S they did eventually fix it and make it playable but it did take a while. oh they did Bioshock Infinite too?

If you want the best version right now then go with PS4 as it has:

- a solid 30fps framerate (where even PC's with a 980 are dipping below 30)
- Ambient Occulsion
- better textures

The only thing PC has going for it is:

-NVidia gameworks graphical features

I got it with my GTX970 free and i still feel ripped off.

My game just started redownloading itself. I haven't verified the cache nor has it crashed or anything. I'm done with this, not wasting my bandwidth for this PoS a second time.

That happened to me last night, I am on a bandwidth cap and didnt notice until it had completed so that is my monthly Bandwidth gone.

Holy shit this came out of nowhere. Extremely disappointing and disheartening. Super glad I decided to properly play Witcher 3 before pulling the trigger on this. Super fucking glad. They can keep their poor effort. GOTY edition for cheap with all the dlc and the game all patched up it is. God dammit rocksteady. Their first foray into next gen territory and a really big and hyped game and they decide to go where the fence is lowest on the pc version. Hope it generates a lot of backlash for them.

Man how embarrassing of a port. A fucking console not only runs better but has graphics features entirely missing on PC

I feel that Steam refund system will be a game changer for shoddy ports. They just can't get away with it now. Coupled that with Steam reviews, and mainstream media writing about these ports and I can say that developers won't be able to ignore their mess.

Ambient Occlusion ..such a basic feature w/ PC games, I'm guessing this wasn't intentional and it'll get added in.
