Haven't been their but went plenty of times to Azusa Pacific U and that place is weeeeeeiiiiirrdddd!!!!
Azusa Pacific is a conservative Christian university. I did B2B stuff with them and got caught in an email chain, many blessings and such.

So that may explain it.

It was really disappointing when I saw this live. I know I go down to LA at least once or twice every year, so I'll make it a point to avoid that city as much as possible. I know that probably doesn't make any difference but whatever.

there are other and better cities around than azusa, but i seem to recall an arcade being near the edwards theater down there. that area really isn't so bad since it's the north part of azusa.

if they can only afford azusa though... yikes.

They kept on referring it as a mall. I'm not sure where the location was.

Rough ride for Super Arcade. All that money and work for renovations, then having to move, now this.

Went there a few times when visiting LA over the years and it was always a good atmosphere.

Hope it all works out.

Watson is going to have another chance in 3 weeks to plead his case. Hopefully more people will attend who support the arcade.

This is why we all need to understand who we are voting for. These are the types of people that are running our cities. They are still acting like it is 1993 again with Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter in the arcades .

I've been reading the new meeting is just to formalize the deny motion since the city of Azusa didn't have the required documents today.

I've seen this movie. I can't wait for Ultrachen's hurt warming speech, that convinces the stone cold councilman who's on the fence to allow the arcade.

Wait wait. Ultra David is a video game attorney, this might be one of the few cases that might come in handy.

Chen will bring the Pathos, and David will bring the Ethos. Though it'll be Alex Valle who sets aside his differences with Watson and barges in at the last second to bring it all together.

Definitely would be a shame if that place goes out, I remember during my attendance at Mt. Slack(Sac) and I had heard they got the first ever Street Fighter 4 machine in the USA. That place was chaos!

Having worked at a couple arcades that were denied permits and such when moving to new areas, I feel pretty confident in guessing there are some racial issues at play here, too.

This is why you need to vote in non-Presidential years. If we did, we wouldn't have a Republican House and Senate.

I live less than 5 minutes away from Walnut.
What a shame, I would have loved to have an arcade to regularly go to.

I'm dying. XD Man I remember that movie. There's no way they could get away with any of that shit in a kids' film these days.

To be honest, it's hard to judge what's right for that town without living there or knowing what people there want or need.

With that said, though, it sucks that nerd-related spaces in general can't catch much of a break when it comes to finding a place to call home. It's not just coin-operated video arcades and their built-in heroin businesses, either - tabletop game stores (and their respective heroin trades) have a pretty similar problem.

This is every GameWorks in the United States

If you watched the stream, it definitely looked that way as well

Poor decision and I'm not even in to this sort of thing.

On a side note, I had to drive through Azusa 10 months ago as my escape from LA was thwarted by a highway detour at 2am in the morning. Can't say I was too impressed with what I saw.

Ah, GAF learns about local government. $20 says a developer is quietly putting together a plan for that land, and has local leaders rejecting all zoning applications U til they are ready.

The mall has been a trash/deserted pile of shit for more than a decade. The only things that used to be there were low quality mexican markets and even they left. The entire half mile of the mall strip is completely vacant.

Azusa sucks anyways

It really does. but it's the lowest rent area close to their previous location.

Most likely the nearest place to go next is pomona, which is another twenty miles away.
