HIS WILL! Hear that, Nintendo?

South America too!

Edit: This genius is a genius:

Its a new strategy:

-Pretend its not coming out.
-Wait for the few fans who care about it to raise hell for it.
-Suddenly now everyone wants it, Operation TattoBaldy starts.
-Nintendo says it listened to fans, makes it Amazon exclusive for retail.
-Fans are happy they made their voice be heard!
-Profit!

Good to hear clarification at least. Now only if Nintendo would clarify if Fatal Frame is digital or physical

What the duck happened with this title? Why is NoA ignoring a finished game on its game-deprived system?

Maybe they played it? I'd love to be wrong, but it really does look bad. Not trying to shit post, but I'm seriously wondering if that's a possible reason.

Because they're Nintendo of America and Nintendo of America's only job is to make all these ridiculously stupid decisions without any kind of reasonable explanation.

So Nintendo ditched one of its titles that it featured last year at E3? Why would they do that? Does anyone know anything about this situation?

Well if it does release, I think it should be
Devil's Third |OT| Developed by: Vahalla Game Studios, Published by: Itagaki's will

Every time they've shown the game the reactions have been pretty negative. I imagine Nintendo isn't very confident in the title anywhere, thus the Amazon exclusivity in Japan. Would be weird to not release it on the eShop, but maybe they found a willing publisher
What does that have to do with anything?
They likely funded development of it because of the Itagaki name, but maybe it didn't turn out well.

What a boss!

I feel like Nintendo sometimes just straight up gives up on titles that get really bad reception and either don't market it if first party and just send it out, or here and not end up publishing the game.

I wasn't aware that NOA won't release the game. The game is confirmed for Europe, right? I'm nearly sure I saw a tweet about that before E3!

Bad games don't sell so well and are a waste of marketing money.

Then they shouldn't have shown the game at E3 like they did and act for the longest time like it was coming out just to make the schedule seem bigger, then drop it right as it was getting close to the timeframe it was supposed to release in. I don't know, sure the game is probably going to be bad, but if Nintendo was originally going to publish this game like that in US, I feel this is a bit shitty to Itagaki. Then again what do I know, probably some other crazy shit went down behind the scenes.

Plus I wanted to play it, I wanted to experience the trainwreck in all it's glory!

I pre-ordered it from Amazon last night. Maybe if those that are interested Pre-order it, it may show their is some demand for the game in NA?

Are you familiar with the company entity know as Nintendo of America?

Let me tell you, this branch was sitting in a stock pile of quality Japanese Wii games while leaving the console to dry. It would be nice if they thought themselves as somewhat clever and divised that strategy. But for what we have seen in the past they are not.
Yeah the desire for this game kind of perplexes me.
We don't know until people get extensive hands on with it. Potentially it could be one of those flawed and umpolished yet enjoyable games.

Who knows? It could end up been the next Deadly Premonition.

Reggie: "We know Wii U gamers want Devil's Third. We know. We hear you. However, we have nothing to announce right now. In the meantime, check out this new trailer for Devil's Third: Amiibo Army."

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Sounds like another Disaster Day of Crisis situation...NoA doesnt care.

LOL who asked for this game? Seriously? NEOGAF?

Keep your damn game in JP/EU. You'll only know sorry when you release that pile of crap here and it sells 100 units... to only NEOGAF posters! I can't wait to see that OT only go like two pages and be dead in a week lol.

HATERS GONNA HATE HATE HATE. I DO NOT ACCEPT OR TOLERATE DEVIL'S THIRD.

Because most everyone else will be as well. Itagaki spent too much of the development money on his rock star lifestyle, and Devil's Turd is the result.

If he's saying that he will release it, then NoA sure as hell isn't. It sounds like he's probably trying to shop this to any third party publisher willing to listen.

But...given the game itself, Wii U's install base and demographic info, and Itagaki himself, I kind of wonder if anybody would really be willing to bite. I could see this game coming out if it were, like, two years ago and there was still some sense of boldness with Wii U, but outside of internal Nintendo games it feels like most everyone else treats the thing like it's poisonous.

I really struggle to understand what the hell is Nintendo doing, I wonder if Iwata was drinking with Itagaki, and Itagaki fooled him to sign a contract or something.

Probably because they know it'll sell about 30,000 copies. Although it's still pretty lame considering it's basically first party and their system is desperately in need of new software.

NOA has been pretty active in messing with the dedicated consumer base recently:

1) Normal size New 3DS not released.

2)Yoshi for October.

3)The Fatal Frame localization. Too tight lipped in regards to the progress and they chose to put Yoshi for October when this made more sense.

4) Devil's Third situation. When the game is already announced for Japan and Europe.

The Wii U is not in a position for NOA to consider the prospect of any releases. It should launch whatever it gets. If investment is a concern at list do it diggitally or throught the online store.

What does that have to do with anything?
That's why we didn't get disaster day of crisis, isn't it? I remember Reggie said they thought it wasn't a good game.

If Nintendo doesn't believe in the title they can always let some other publisher handle it, like happened with two of the operation rainfall games.

Weird way this title has been handled though... Why did Nintendo invest the money to complete this game and not provide any guidance?

I don't think this game looks that good visually, but I don't doubt it will likely play well. Action fans should be anticipating this.
