Pokémon Shuffle Mobile is coming to iTunes App Store and Google Play in 2015! In Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, your goal is to clear various stages by lining up the same Pokémon and clearing these matches from the puzzle area. Within each puzzle stage, you can deal damage to the wild Pokémon you face by lining up three of the same Pokémon to clear them. Battle and try to catch the Pokémon before you run out of moves!

Is it weird that I had no interest in playing it on my 3DS, but now that it's on phones I might try it out? I wonder why my mind works that way. Maybe it's because I can only play one thing on 3DS and have to quit out before playing something else? Maybe it's because It's a traditional 'mobile' game and i see my 3ds as a... game console? I dunno why the distinction is there in my mind, but it is.

Most mobile games do a limited release in a country like Canada, Australia, or The Netherlands to update the game and adjust the pricing model based on feedback before doing a wide release.

My suspicion is that they had the same idea here, but instead of going out in just one country, they went on 3DS first to be supportive of Nintendo's f2p efforts and their general collaboration with them.

The "this will make so much money on mobile" thing will depend on whether TPC treats this as a service (with events and stuff) or just throwing a game and just waiting for the money to come in. IIRC there was no such thing on the 3DS version.

Pokémon Shuffle was published and paid for by Nintendo as well as The Pokémon Company. This could well be the first.

They're involved in the way that they co-own Pokémon (and thus make bank off of this, too).
