Punchline x Zero Escape Crossover in which Yuta and crew are part of the Nonary Game: Panty Edition.

I'd buy it.

When the reveal happens I think I'll freak out like crazy. ZE3 is a game I've been hoping and hoping for and when the bad news kept coming out, I really thought the chance of having it was finished.

I hope it's on Vita anD 3DS but if only one I'll still be okay with that.

Also happy to be aboard the hype train!

If ZE3 comes out on both Vita and 3DS, I will buy both versions on day 1. I already did it with VLR so I might as well do it again!

Me too! I got a US Vita copy and a PAL 3DS copy! Kickstarter worries me just because i could probably empty my bank account in one go to support this project... Anyhow, if Kickstarter really happens, I'm sure the project will be funded in less than a day. I can argue that ZE reached the popularity of Shenmue, only differenze being that to fund a VN you need much less money..
I know that mine is a bold statement, but the outcry for a conclusion to the ZE series has been really on since VLR come out!

Hey, podracer!
Yup, it's been a while, now!
Wow, I actually played 999 on Dicember 2010! Unforgettable.
Actually, how many of you got into the series in 2010??
After 999, I remember the excitement when the sequel was announced in August 2011 and the excruciating wait for it to come to the west. I've already played the waiting game once!
Friday is so close, can't wait!

I was following it's release! I remember trying out a demo they had online and was excited because I was able to show it easily to others without my DS. Me and Bluebadger bought 999 when it came out and ended up getting my whole group of friends into the series.

I also anticipated VLR and I'm sure I was part of the release threads. Watching people's reactions to the big twists was amazing.

I tried looking around the photo that aksys tweeted of their booth if intentionally or uninstalls left something there for us. But I found nothing :(

I was there since day 1! :)

I remember when the game was first previewed on Siliconera just for the Japanese release and I loved the whole concept and artstyle immediately, but I wasn't too hopeful it would get a US release. Then when it was announced that Aksys picked it up I was so happy! I played the demo, posted in the few pre-release threads on GAF and pre-ordered the game and started it as soon as I got my copy. (Which I think took a few extra days since I'm in Canada and sometimes Aksys stuff is a bit slow getting delivered here.) Edit: I just double checked my old posts, it took 14 days for my copy to be delivered. x_x

I never thought it would blow up as much as it did. I'm so glad it has taken hold in the west, and that so many other cool gaffers like it too. :) *waves*

(And after playing it yourself, the next best thing is reading other people's reactions and discussion the plot.)

I also got my copy on December 2010, I literally couldn't sleep during my first playthrough. It was great. I was lucky enough to still be able to get one of the pre-order watches since Aksys was doing a game+watch bundle for $25 during AX 2011. I actually offered to buy thier 999 wall scroll they had up. They were going to sell it to me, but i had to come back on the last day of the con. Unfortunately, I was only at the convention for one day :( still my biggest regret to this day.

It's been a while since I've checked in, but what a glorious mess that first post has turned into.

Is someone going to go ahead with an OT, though? I'd be willing to whip up some quick graphics for it.

I have. I was a room escape game fiend growing up, and I was stoked that it seemed like a good one was coming to the DS in English. I already had it pre-ordered, but I think it was the Destructoid review that really piqued my interest when it mentioned that it actually incorporated multiple playthroughs into its story. I didn't put it down until I got the true ending in a single weekend.

Luckily I didn't find out about the sequel until the localization was announced, so I didn't need to wait too long.

Does he mean-- oh man... Why must Friday be so far away? >_< I just want to hear this announcement!

Also, sup PurpleMaster! Haha Getting flashbacks to my first playthrough of 999... Wow, has it really almost been 3 years?!? O_O

that pic is old lol. Uchikoshi already edited & removed that part few months ago haha
and that's why people need to learn read OP, takoyaki did a good job summarizing the events in the 1st 2 posts

by all means! Ironically......time is running short.
Well, at least I won't be like Sigma and wait until the last literal second. I just need an idea of what to cover. Just off the top of my head, it'd be:

Wow, lots of people actually were in even before 999 release! :)
I found out about it after a review on Gamespot, didn't really know it existed and I couldn't stumble upon it in a store, living in Europe.

Anyways, thank god I have plenty to do before Friday's announcement, or the wait would have killed me. I distinctively remember that EVERY game I played during September-October 2012 was just a filler while waiting for VLR. And the 2-day shipping (again, fastest shipping from USA to Europe) felt INTENSE.
I will watch the panel with Gaf closed and when I come back I want to see countless, new, superhyped GIFs!

I had already volunteered to make the OT, but if you have something fancy put together, go ahead. I am still awaiting mod confirmation on whether they want to move this thread over and title change or have a new thread for the stream (or ZE3)

Wait, OT for the announcement, or for the game? Cause uh. Game is taken by tradition, iirc.

Well, you were the one who volunteered first, so I was waiting to chime in about what you wanted to do. It's your call; I'm cool following your lead and collaborating.

Must have been Nov 2010. I remember reading surprisingly good reviews and still going in very skeptical. I don’t think I would have given 999 a shot if the Professor Layton games hadn’t changed my mind about "reading vs. gameplay" and experimental DS games in general. Completely fell in love with the game, played through it in under a week and during the true ending route, I literally couldn’t put it down. The next day, I gave my copy to a friend who was even more skeptical than me and he returned it after 2 days and bought his own copy. 999 really is the perfect game to introduce someone to the VN genre, it starts off like a good horror movie but turns into something that's just not possible in other forms of media.

Wait, OT for the announcement, or for the game? Cause uh. Game is taken by tradition, iirc.

Right now, just for the panel. I'm sure someone else will make a ZE announcement thread while the panel is still on. And it's very unlikely that we'll need an OT tomorrow, they go up when the game comes out, right?

I can move all the information into the 2nd post and keep the 1st post focused on the stream + announcement; still feel like making another thread for the stream might be a bit overkill when everyone will move on to the announcement thread within hours anyway.

But if someone makes one, Hylian7 brought it up first.

I played 999 for the first time in December 2010. I was so engrossed in in, I've spent whole Christmas break playing. It's my favourite game of all time.
Same story with VLR and Christmas 2012. VLR is longer and I waited for characters to stop speaking before advancing dialog (even if it was in Japanese - yay Europe!), so it took me like 40h to beat. I had to play a lot to finish it before going back to school. In the end I finished it with a few days to spare :p
Christmas 2014 was sad.

30 hours remain!

I played 999 around when VLR came out; I'd owned it for a while and was really interested in it but hadn't gotten around to it. Friends wouldn't stop praising it so I finally played it. And then pretty much immediately bought VLR after finishing because I couldn't stand waiting to see what happened next.

I really, really hope tomorrow's not a disappointment.

Ah... It was near the top of my Twitter news feed, so I thought it was interesting... >_>

But wow, I feel like such a novice for only getting into this series in 2012... I think I randomly stumbled upon info on VLR after finishing TWEWY. I saw the hype and my interest was piqued. I took a random on TWEWY, and I'm so glad I took the dive with 999 as well! The experience of getting all the endings was intense!

Less than 26 hours remain! Is this real???????? >_<

off on a tangent...

I still consider myself "new" around here, but this topic alone shows how much I already love the neogaf community. Even if the .012325346% chance that this announcement fails hardcore of what we are (pretty much everyone) is expecting, the experience here over the last couple of months has been GOLD and pretty memorable!

Anyways...."I think" 26 hours left until the big announcement!

Friday is so close, can't wait!

Well, I wasn't there from day one, but it was pretty close after it.
I actually have to thank gamefaqs.com for it, because I saw this game in the top ten most popular games on the front site and got curious how there was a popular NDS game I didn't know about. I read the review on destructoid.com and was immediately hooked.
I love mystery stories and I REALLY love it when people a forced to play games of life and death. Escape the room is also a type of gameplay I like, so I got this game as fast as I could.

From the first minute on I was totally engulfed and even didn't go to the university that day ("I need to do home office today") and just played and played, until I got all endings.
The ending scene with the
sudoku of death and that great music
was really heart warming.

In August 2011 I was also extremly hyped for VLR, I still remember the thread on court-records.net where we discussed and speculated everything.

VLR was a really good successor for me and
Luna's Ending
was the first scene in a video game were I just couldn't stop crying, and I mean real crying, not just a few tears in my eyes. So obviously the message that it's looking bad for ZE3 was horrible for me, I really hope tomorrow we all get a great reveal and can look forward to the release of the final piece in this great series.

One day to gooooooo and I'm getting so nervous.

Last time (stairlift) I was very nervous because all we had was hope, hype and a theory, but not this time; we've come prepared (OP) and know that it will happen tomorrow :)

The only other possibility left would be a 4 month long troll/marketing-stunt by Aksys and Uchikoshi. That won't happen.

JUST as an added precaution - should we set up "in case all goes wrong" plan? Such as offer emotional therapy, grievance counseling, maybe even a hotline number to talk about the pain and suffering of not having ZE3 for those in need? :p

On another note, as strange as this may sound to some, I am actually much more excited to this buildup than the "leaked" buildup for FFVIIR and that is saying something!

Please be excited!

Seeing how Aksys had a pretty good reputation, I seriously doubt they will go full Square Enix on us.

Nope it's not.
28 hours and 35 minutes remain.

How do you guys get 26 hours?
Doh! >_< Was calculating based on 1pm EST, which is yeah... My bad. >_>

The upside is that I should be home from work by 4pm EST, which is when the panel will be starting! I'm so glad I'll be able to catch it live! :D
