No way, I thought it was a really classless onion article or something at first but then I kept seeing it reposted everywhere.

:(

RIP.

These are the last few I can do for now. Hope you like it. :)

Brother, thanks a lot. Must be a lot of work to ribbon all the GAFfers. Really amazing work.

I just don't undertand, can someone who knows how to get this to happen please send me a message.
I'm still struggling to understand why so many other sites have given tribute but neogaf is lagging behind.
This really needs to happen to show due respect

There's a rumor saying this Nintendo Direct used muppets to hide Iwata's health problems.
You couldn't hear that he was very ill in his voice, but you could see it physically.

I heard similar things too, but man, never even thought about it at first, I mean during the Digital Event.

I thought he was actually getting better. :(

Very sad. At a loss for words.

I'm just glad we got to enjoy a part of his ingenuity in our lives. I'll never hate on Balloon Fight ever again.

RIP!

Unfortunately it seems the doctors are responsible for what happened.

A routine operation cant be fatal so unexpectedly

This is really sad news. Nintendo won't be the same without him... I always appreciated him as a president and as a person, humble and human like you wouldn't expect from someone at the head of a multinational. Iwata Asks, Nintendo Directs... All ways to show his passion and love for what he did.

Today I will play Balloon Fight, my favorite NES game, to remember him.

I send a big "Thanks", Mr. Iwata... Directly to you.

I've always wondered and now I figure now's the time to get rid of this doubt:

What's the game being displayed on the TV of this infamously adorkable picture?

Pikmin I believe?

Bile Duct cancer is a terrible affliction, and no matter how good the surgeon is, it can still be fatal.

Let's not try playing the blame game here. It's not helpful.

Just be patient. It's still early morning in the US. Evilore said it's coming. (Also he mentioned that the rainbow logo was more difficult than expected to implement, so there may be some technical delay too.)

Any operation can be fatal unexpectedly. Human bodies are complicated, especially when something like cancer is in the mix.

Because, I just cant... this is too sudden...
i was reading his Iwata asks and share holder interview just recently...
This is really too sudden...

Careful of the backseat moderating. If it is indeed impacting the thread negatively, a mod will say so.

I'm talking about the moral side of his death. It's (morally) inappropriate and insensitive to discuss corporate politics while a lot of users grieve. As mentioned before: there will be threads in the upcoming days but we should have the decency to keep this topic out of here as they tend to derail.

& I don't think it amounts to backseat moderation, it's just common sense and decency, and I would think the admin team agree since "Who will succeed him?" threads have been locked.

I kind of find the balloon fight references to be the wrong crowning achievement for Iwata. It was him helping port the arcade version of balloon fight from another programmer to the NES.

Programming Kirby or Mother 2 seems more appropriate. Or his ideas at the top of his presidency.

Thank god i sit at the back of my office, been trying to hold back the tears for 2 hours now. But after seeing peoples posts and re-watching some videos it's finally got the better of me. R.I.P Iwata, you've left a huge void in the gaming community and you will be greatly missed :(
