Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

how do you know what the FPS rate is?

The game does regularly run at less than 30fps on X360, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume it runs around there on X1, which, by all accounts, seems pretty close to the same performance, if not a bit worse, currently. I hope they chose ME1 in the initial batch of titles because it was one of the first UE3 titles on X360 and any tweaks made to the emulator/interpreter benefit all subsequent UE3 titles as they'll only become more demanding while performing better in terms of framerate.

I'm all the way through the side quests and in the main story I'm just starting Ilos. It really only gets bad during intense action, just like it did on 360. It's not consistently 20 fps. But it does get really choppy when there's a lot going on.

Every time this thread gets bumped I hope they finally announced the second batch.
That's what I just came in here to check on. Never saw anything saying they were going to slowly trickle out more games before it goes public but I've been hoping.

They said they were going to add new games this month.

I believe the difference with Mass Effect is that it runs with v-sync on XBO. So you don't get tearing, but when the frame-rate dips below 30 it goes straight down to 20. Would be great if they could figure some way of keeping v-sync and frame-rates up, but I doubt it.

Been playing with a brand new character. Level 32 now. I'm in love all over again. I really hope they add me2 and me3 to the BC program. I didn't realize how badly I've missed this series. :3

And yeah it gets really choppy when there's a lot of effects on the screen... But that's exactly how it was on the 360.

Wonder will the 360 version of minecraft be ported over even though they have a XBONE version

It will, it's first party. They're not gonna start backpedaling that. Minecraft is probably the only game MS don't really want to enable it for due to it being a money making machine but I think they will for the greater good.

Can you imagine the shitstorm if they came out and said "Yeah by first party we meant first party games that don't make us money any more"? If MS starts blocking games out then that's not exactly setting a good precedent for other publishers to follow. They probably won't want to do it, but kind of have to do it if they want others to follow .

Isn't there already a $5 upgrade for minecraft?
I'd pay the full $15 for the huge world size alone on the Xbox one.

There is but it's a limited time offer. I think it was 1 year? then you have to pay full price. That offer should actually be ending very soon if it's even still going on.

I favor performance and quality of emulation over more games to play while it's in the testing period, I still want to see mass effect get a framerate boost asap and test it out.

I'm calling either tomorrow or when gears 3 gets on gwg.

Hopefully

Stop bumping this thing guys pls for my health

Set your expectations accordingly. If there is news of more games being added, it will slapped on the main page in a new topic. You won't be able to miss it. People will be going crazy
