I already own this game on the Wii, but as we all know, having it on the Wii-U's home page makes ilfe a lot easier, plus the additional Miiverse and Gamepad features all help, but at £17.99 they can kiss my arse, hate the pricing on older titles on the e-shop.

Was thinking of just playing this on Dolphin but now I may get this considering off-screen play, 60 hz instead of 50 and the £9 discount on XBX

I imagine it'll be the only New-3DS-exclusive game I ever play.

I imagine it'll be the only New 3DS exclusive anyone ever plays.

Also, for those vacillating between Wii and N3DS versions, the N3DS didn't include the original Japanese voice audio, which is a real loss as Xenoblade got a fairly low quality British dub.

How much is the physical version now though?

It's better than paying £40-£50 for used versions (eBay prices in last month). I hope Nintendo brings over Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radient Dawn because these two go for over £70 and £40-£50 respectively.

But Skyward Sword is 60Hz too.

Huh. Well, then I guess the Wii that lives inside my Wii U is defaulting to 50Hz, and I have no idea why. I can't find anything in the Wii or Wii U settings menus that I can change, and I'm pretty sure Skyward Sword itself doesn't even have a settings menu.

While it did support CC, I always felt the game was better with Wiimote and Nunchuck. You could move and select skills at the same time so easily that way.

Wow, I hadn't realised this until now! Sounds worth the trade-off of camera controls too, since Xenoblade has an auto camera.

Us here. I have been waiting for Xenoblade on the eshop ever since they put Wii games there. I knew they would do it, but the 3DS release of course made them delay it.

NoA, don't mess up!

Kinda off topic, but is there a place where I can find which Wii VC games I can play on the Wii U with only the gamepad? I don't have the Wiimote/Nunchuck/Classic Controller.

This is great, was looking to pick up a physical copy but all those scalpers were charging extortionate prices on amazon and ebay.

Patience really is a virtue :)

Sin and Punishment 2, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles.

The first two, at least, are really bad without a Wiimote.

Really hope this comes to the US too! About 70 hours in on the 3ds version, would love to play again on WiiU (never played the Wii version).

So just to confirm can I play the VC version of this using the Wii U Pro Controller and be completely wireless ?

I have the physical version sat on my shelf, right now. But I was going to buy XCX digitally anyway. What's the discount in the UK, £10 or £9 or something? Cus if half of this is going towards the new game then I have to decide if it's worth paying £9 or £8 for off TV play with gamepad controls. Think it might be for one of my all time favourite games.

Edit: it's nine. So nine pounds for off TV gamepad control? I'll probably go for it.

Already have the Wii version and I was gifted the 3DS version for my birthday so I won't bother with this. Still, it's good they're doing this for those who don't want to pay the absurd ebay prices.

No, Wii software doesn't support the Wii U Pro Controller. You will have to use either the Wiimote+Nunchuk combo, or the Wii U GamePad.

I wish I didn't have to ask this, but does anyone know if the Wii U Pro Controller works with Wii games that support the Classic Controller Pro?

Nothing against the GamePad, it's just that if the game's only using the TV it'd be nice to just use the Pro Controller. Assuming you have to choose "TV + GamePad" when starting the game to use the GamePad as a controller.

I'm pretty sure you can't use the WiiU gamepad to control Wii Software yet. Right now the gamepad can act as a monitor basically but you can't control with it.

Not true anymore, with digital versions. Anything that supported the Classic Controller on Wii will work with the GamePad as a controller. Right now that's Sin and Punishment 2, Pandora's Tower and now Xenoblade Chronicles.

You can with anything that's downloaded onto your Wii U and can be played with a Classic Controller

Do you still have to bust out the Wiimote and sensor bar to even start the game or is that just for Wiimote only games?
